$47 for a Knob Creek Single Barrel store pick is a great price. Cost $60 near me. Really like the Barrel New Year 2024. I picked up 3 bottles of Old Forester 1924 and the Larceny BP A124 last week in KY and TN. 🥃
Those Bardstown Origin Series bottles you both passed up would of been my first pick. They are so good for the price!

Both are great shopping carts. I'm gonna have to give the edge to Bill, but I would swap his beer and Green River for Dara's four roses.
Great video. It makes me jealous seeing the bourbon selections in that store. It is a little tough for me to pick a winner for 2 reasons. One is that I can't get a lot of this stuff in our area and being state regulated we don't get store picks. Two is that you both did a great job especially with some of the stuff on sale. I can't get the KC but my guess is that 120 proof KC at that price is a great pick for both of you. I like Bill's picks of the BT and EC store picks and he did a great job. That being said if I had $300 to spend at the liquor store there is no way I see myself leaving without at least 1 bottle of Old Forester so between the OF1920 and the Four Roses SB I have to give Dara the nod on this one.

The JD Bonded and Triple Mash are really good. The JD SBBP is pretty much my favorite bottle right now.

Ben Holliday red wheat, Teeling small batch, Longbranch, 13th Colony Southern rye, Middle West dark pumpernickel rye, a Rebecca Creek Texas Ranger and 3 bottles of Traveller, 1 for me and 2 for gifts. For those having the question of black plastic cap Early Times BIB vs new metal screw top more that Sazerac bought it from Brown-Foreman... Sax took it over in 2020. They haven't had time to meet the BIB standards. Until sometime between June 2024-early 2025, it will be the B-F juice that is tucked in from their remaining stock. Once the 4 year BIB aging standard is met THEN we will truly see if there is a difference.
Literally EVERYONE knows this already.

Id mix and match from both of yours and swap some out. Id switch out tin cup 10 for russels 10, id just get rid of the bt store pick because buffalo trace is gross, id keep the etbib and knob creek, id take the ecbp pick, then id grab a jack sbbp and a benchmark fullproof which goes to about 265 before tax.

If that pi hook High Proof, purple wax is the 2023, it’s 4 year Castle and Key and tastes nothing like the Castle Key bottles, it’s actually good!

And even if not my first choice the OF 1920 and Ben Holliday are solid. That's the winner. Too bad no Rare Breed or that would be an instant buy. Same with 1792 Full Proof.

I'm gonna put on my newbie hat for a second and ask some stupid questions. A zillion times you both say that you really really like a particular bottle. What is it about them that you like? What are the taste differences or similarities? What makes one bottle better than the other? I mean this is nothing more than a shopping video. If it's about bourbon, why not put more into why your buying those as opposed to the ones you left on the shelf. The one thing i did like about the video is you didn't try to draw attention to allocated bottles. Way too many YT videos concentrate on allocations and not what's readily available. Constructive criticism here....the concept is interesting, but the content was lacking. I would like to try a bottle of Tincup 10yr., but what can you tell us about it that would make me want to look for it? What's the difference between the 10yr and the others that Tincup produces?

@@fearlessleader8623its pretty far from a waste of 300 if you like the whiskey, but you definitely arent going for value, rabbit hole and whistlepig alone are some of the worst values out there right now, and the michters is solid but theres a lot of similar bottles for around half the price. In the end your money, your taste, your choice.
