    If this was a super-expensive kit, it would be a very impressive model. Achieving this result from bits + bobs of 𝒋𝒖𝒏𝒌 makes it all the more spectacular. There are so many techniques on show here and they all come together perfectly. Incredible work but made all the more dramatic by thinking "outside the box". 👍👌😁

    Just discovered your chsnne6. You are a genius! I'm freeze framing a frame and staring at your weathered Nerf guns, knowing that they're really plastic, and my brain cannot resolve it! World class work and pure eyecandy.

    Boy Oh Boy, Jason, would not be surprised to see this used in a Hollywood Sci-Fi movie. I have this gas plant that is setting on the side for a very long time and now I know what I will do with it now and the rust at the bottom of your walls, well what can I say that has not been said, just unbelievable. There is no limits to your talent, knowledge and abilities. We who are part of the modeling world have been so blessed with you and the gift you give to us and not just trains. I have friends who do large war vehicles who have tuned into your channel. You might think of renaming your channel Jason Jenson Trains and More or Beyond. Once again and from all of us in the modeling community a Hugh Thank You Jason!!!!!! Be safe and well.

    Jason, the progress is looking awesome! Keep up the great work! I think you should put a control room on the right side. You could create walls with glass windows and have some computer panel with lights on the inside. You can take one of those fiber optic lights where the fiber optics look like hairs and insert the fiber optics through small holes to look like lighted keys on the panels. This would give you a great place to put a guard watching over the sewage disposal operation.

    • @mr.e1944
      @mr.e1944 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, and make the guardroom/control room with a sliding pocket door. You also need a set of stairs in front going down to the lower floor. This can be a spiral staircase made from model sprews representing steel pipe!

    • @JasonJensenTrains

      @@JasonJensenTrains Your welcome man! You need a reason for a person to come through the doors and walk across the cat walk. Having a control room is a good reason or a power source like the device O.B Wan turned off in Star Wars to lower the force field. Maybe something with glowing purple or blue light. The sewer could glow green or yellow for contrast. Anyways these are just ideas. Do whatever you want. It looks like you already know what you are doing!

    Jason,
    When you announced this build I must admit I was not a fan..You haven't won me over to Sci-Fi, however, I can see where I could use some of your techniques on my RxR Model. Caverns. Caves. Subways. Side trackage. Rotting Sea Hulks. And more.
    As for Sci-Fi I am more Indy Jones meets National Treasure meets King Solomon's Mines meet Jurassic Park.
    So having said that I only have two suggestion.
    On the large square flooring area, you said you wanted to put a rusted grimed Yellow railing around the edge. Well on the facing front side leave the railing off or at least damaged and bent over leaving long open gaps. That would add a scents of threat and ominous danger. Especially above the moving fan.
    Secondly, in that area where you plan to install a sewer rock bed. In the substrate void install a smoker or dry ice steamer. When engaged the smoke will billow up through the stones. And with hidden piping can come up through some of the existing rusted pipes. At the time of this upload you have the ability to cut an access into the unpainted rear and side walls.
    Just an upscale super weathering effect,
    Great job.
    ~Jim

    Hello Jason! As for your second sci-fi video, painting rusted metal, you said that the doors at the upper level of your structure are out of styrene sheets from evergreen scale models! But those are just plain styrene sheets! How you shaped them to have that great and believable "shut door", or however they are called, look? Sorry for my English!
    Robert.-

      Hi Robert! Thank you so much for watching, I really appreciate it!!! I just cut the styrene with an xacto knife to the shapes I wanted. Then glued them together and painted them. Hope that helps.

      @@JasonJensenTrains Thank You so much Jason! Have You tried to replicate with Your particular and tasteful weathering techniques an art deco building? Some video? And maybe You didn't get a question I sent You some weeks ago, regarding tube paints! Some disadvantages with this kind of paints?
      Robert.-

    Hey Jason, I just found your channel and your content is fantastic - I have a question - the pastels you use, are they water based, or oil based?

    • @JasonJensenTrains
      @JasonJensenTrains  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much!!! DO NOT USE OIL BASE! They are regular pastel chalks. Make sure they say SOFT PASTELS. I love them, very easy to use! I bought mine at Michael's or Hobby lobby. Hope that helps and happy modeling Rex!!!

    I hope this doesn't come across as being mean and unkind, but rather more as constructive criticism. You seem to be addicted to the color blue-green/aqua/turquoise which shows up in just about every structure you weather, either as the main siding, or door or window trim, etc. I love your weathering techniques. You're one of the best, but I can't imagine, in real life, driving thru a small town and seeing a majority of the buildings similarly painted in the same color. You also use brownish/grayish tints and other drab colors on your structures which really doesn't allow any one particular building stand out. Maybe that's what you're going for, but I just thought you should go for a little more color on your layout. Thanks for making all the hard work look easy !!!

      No problem Bob! My layout is set in the 30s and 40s so I do keep the colors muted. I use the color blue alot in my harbour scene because people associate blue with water. I'll use more color the further inland I get and you'll start to see more brick and different architecture. It's all about creating an allusion and a feeling when viewing the layout. Thanks for watching and happy modeling!!!

    Completely unrelated...what video editing software are you using.
    I’m a newbie to videos and want editing software that isn’t too complicated.
    Thanks!
