Demon's Crest is the third installment of the Gargoyle's Quest series. The player controls Firebrand, who is scouring the Demon Realm for elemental Crests, which preside over different elements (Fire, Earth, Air, Water, Time, and Heaven). When collected, these crests allow Firebrand to transform his shape at will and gain powerful new abilities and defenses.
Demon's Crest is notorious for some very difficult bosses. In this run, the author abuses boss weaknesses to the extreme by carefully switching Gargoyle forms as necessary. In addition, heavy luck manipulation was used during several encounters to make the otherwise troublesome boss fights look easier than a play through of Barney's Hide and Seek Game ( tasvideos.org/... ).
This is an improvement of 00:17.45 over Brookman ( tasvideos.org/... )'s previous movie ( tasvideos.org/... ).

That beginning with the dragon always freaked me out. So creepy watching him walk from the back and come around.

@@juans3334 Try playing P.T., alone in the dark, with no one around but yourself. Try playing Resident Evil 7 and 8. Try playing any 3D survival horror game with the lights off, and see if you don't shit yourself.

This game was a gem, and still is. I loved this game so much as a kid and still do today. They need to make a new demons crest rpg game.
I remember playing this game on an emulator, and the emulator had a bug where it caused the boss at 3:53 (if i remember correctly) to have infinite health. I tried about 20 times before someone in chat was like "oh this is a known bug in this version of the emulator" Saved the state, updated the emulator, blazed through it.

It's a TAS and oftentimes is faster than stopping to damage an enemy or go around it.

Crest of Heaven is not obtainable in a standard play through. This is a completed 100% run of the normal game mode. After completing the game with 100% items the password is revealed after the credits and a console reset is required.

Además de las pociones de escape los primeros golpes de bienvenida antes de empezar la batalla con varios enemigos Jajaj , el lobo más fácil , y los lugares oscuros de memoria hasta saber dónde buscar los items muy bien jugando saltos milimetricos en este juego es casi imposible no recibir ningún daño buscando la botella debajo del agua por ejemplo a no ser que quieras gastar tremenda cantidad de tiempo hasta conseguir dicha cresta para el agua felicidades un placer verte jugar así pasos y jugadas bien pensadas qué pena no verte jugar contra el último enemigo real
You are incorrect. This is a completed 100% run of the standard play through, Crest of Heaven, Dark Demon Dungeon, and the Dark Demon boss are Hidden content unlocked through a password rewarded upon 100% completion of the normal play through. If you have never seen this password it is viewable at the end of the credits of this TAS @44:09

2. To me at least, 100% would be the normal gameplay, since hidden content like this is never counted towards %

Y'know, kinda odd that when Firebrand was added to UMvC3, he barely used any power from that game... and he was the titular character with an expanded moveset.
I never got past the First dragon as a kid, this vídeo makes It look so easy

For the normal ending, the crest of heaven is just a plot element. It feels like real 100% would need it to be in the inventory, filling its empty slot!

The Dark Demon Boss in this game is a fucking nightmare. I abused the hell out of the rewind function on the SNES store and anyone who has beaten the Dark Demon on an actual SNES has my undying respect.
What? No extra boss with password? That's what I was most expecting! But I liked it of course. It will probaly only be bested if it is a no damage run with the extra Dark Demon boss.
speed-runs generally don't go after Dark Lord, it might be for two reasons:
1. it's extremely hard
2. you'd have to sit through like a 9 min long un-skippable credits sequence.
You can skip it,@@lickilicky64. Just need to know the password, whereas if you don't reset theoughout the creditts and do a soft reset after the game gives you the code, it will be already there in the password menu.
They do not include the dark demon because a) killing the red dragon (Phalanx) already triggers an ending sequence, b) dark demon does not drop items, and c) it often demands farming gold to get at least one ginseng potion. Hence, it is annoying.
The boss rush category does kill the dark demon, if one is interested in speed runners facing it.
I still have my own copy :D it's sad that when I had 8 years, I never keep save game box and instruction book :/ And that why, humans should build time machine, to save classic game copy :D

Sadly it won't get a Remake or release. I played it back then on the SNES at already no one knew this game. Today it's treated as hidden gem.
Financially it wouldn't benefit them. I still think you don't need a newer version. This game is perfectly fine and easily has the best atmosphere in combination with soundtrack on the whole SNES for me.
I watched this to get an idea of the best order of levels to go through while playing, but i cant even tell what the heck is going on. Still watched the whole thing though, great speedrun

Watching this, it suddenly dawned on me that the plot doesn't make sense at all. Firebrand collected all crests, but after the fight with Somulo he was left weak, so Phalanx took the chance and took the crests away from him...
So then how the fuck does Arma have 3 of them shits?! Not to mention the other one bosses have (water), plus all the parts of the fire crest.
There is a timeskip of at least several years
Arma is phalanxes general (I think it mentioned in the boss fight where you have all the crests)

This run is missing a transformation, a location, a boss and an ending sequence *shrug*
Incorrect. The 100% speedrun category only collects all items. It is impossible to collect the last crest and not teigger the ending, so the category has to end there. If you want the dark demon, check the boss rush cayegory.
So TAS can't be records that are official
there is a TAS record and for RTA (Real Time, on console) they are tracked separately

According to the forum thread on the TASvideos.org site, he was working on a separate Dark Demon movie, but that was a year and a half ago. I don't know whether he's still working on it.
