    Hey everyone! In this episode of RCT1 scenarios but beautiful, I take the classic Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 scenario Evergreen Gardens, and turn it into a spooky version, Everscream Gardens, in OpenRCT2! I add several big rollercoasters to the park, and tons of other attractions! This one took me a while to complete because it's such a big map!

    the dynamite dunes being the base park for so many other parks still blows my mind, i can't unsee it now that it has been pointed out but i never noticed when i played as a kid.

    The fact that all the maps are the same yet to the untrained eye look completely different just shows you how the same park can look vastly different depending on how you style it. That alone is a testament to how good RCT is with its scenery and customisation.

    I admittedly wasn't expecting a horror theme for such an early Scenario, but it works well and you've pulled it off very nicely indeed! I really like the Arrow Shuttle Loop and the Wooden Coaster in particular; especially that Big Bad Wolf-esque curving drop towards the river on the latter!

    • @Deurklink
      @Deurklink  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! I'm quite happy with how that curved drop over the river worked out!

    Wow, the landscapes being used for different RCT 1 maps blew my mind. Thanks for sharing that! It's like a little clue into an ancient world Sawyer built so long ago

    • @Lucas_van_Hout
      @Lucas_van_Hout ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah without the scenario editor that came later as dlc scenario making would probably have been entirely done in assembly, which would be an pain in the ass. So just disguising the same heighmap by making tiny variations in the heightmap like rivers and the covering it in scenery is really cool.
      Just goes to show you how many different identities you can give something as simple as this rather distinctively looking hill that you would think that it should stick out like an sore thumb no matter what.

  • @BallerDan53
    @BallerDan53 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I never noticed how the landscaping was similar between the scenarios. Great work on the park!

    God imagine that 4 -way section on the car ride going a much higher speed while they pass each other. That would be quite intense.

    actually sick that chris sawyer made the smoke go the right way on the trains, even when going backwards. small detail that no one would've even noticed during regular gameplay, but nice either way.
    also, sick park. keep it coming

    • @Deurklink
      @Deurklink  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha the train just continuously generates small smoke sprites that stay in place while the train moves - so thats why you will always see the smoke trailing behind it

    I think the parc looks amazing. Feels very realistic. Sometimes people, myself included, overcrowd a parc with too many rides and attractions, which then makes it look and feel unrealistic. You nailed it in that regard. I do have a quesiton, though. How do I make my entrances invisible like that? Because while I do like Open RCT and some of the tools it has to offer, I really don't like using that one window that lets you hide complete rides etc, or lets you make turns that aren't possible normally. It becomes too technical for me at that point.

    • @Deurklink
      @Deurklink  ปีที่แล้ว

      There's an invisible entrance style in OpenRCT2. You may have to enable it in the object selection.

    • @StyIoire
      @StyIoire ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Deurklink yeah but then the path doesn't connect to the ride. You made it look like the path went directly into the ride

    • @Deurklink
      @Deurklink  ปีที่แล้ว

      With the tile inspector you can copy and paste an entrance or exit to a different tile, and then remove the original - then click the Make Usable button and now the entrance or exit is in a different location. I just move back the entrance or exit one tile so it's more inside the ride, and then I make it invisible.
