  • Sound on!!
Just a little eye-candy from a day flying with Severne Mach4 6.2, 98L AV Modena and 34 Gasoil fin in Langebaan. Hubby Charl chasing me all over the langoon on a windy day with the GoPro.

So nice .... the jibe is so perfect.. love it . I am shifting my sail forward when initiating the jibe . I don't know why. Sometimes it works. 😅 But my coordination is trained the wrong way . 🙈

Thank you so much!! I find gybing is so individual. For the majority of guys it works to change feet first, then flip the sail… for me, the feet comes after flipping the sail and I find it works a load better that way for my personal style! As long as you can plane out of the gybe your method is going to work perfectly 🤙

Love the angle 45 secs in. I need a 'Hubby Charl' type for my videos. Its so much more enjoyable seeing the chase shots than seeing the selfie views! Nice.

Thanks so much! Charl will be happy to hear your comment about that angle… it was a difficult one to capture!!

Been following you for a while. Had a Fox 95 and got two Gasoil fins. Wow, what an upgrade.
Sold that Fox 95 to a buddy and got a new one last year. Located in Corpus Christi, Texas USA

Thanks so much for following 🤙 The fox is an amazing board… and to pair it with Gasoil fins makes it a bulletproof setup for such a wide range of conditions!! So glad you are enjoying it.

It looks like you have great speed and are quite comfortable, it's great to see you back on the water after all that hard work in rehab/physio! It's noticeable how much you are heeling the inside rail, do you always do that or do you sail it flatter in more extreme conditions? Please forgive the suggestion because you're a better sailor than me, but I think you need to change your feet earlier in the gybe (although maybe this short video is not representative?).

Hi Simon! Thanks for the message. 🤙When I want to dump off some speed I heel the inside rail slightly instead of railing the board. Railing it causes lift and acceleration. When my husband and I sail so close together making GoPro footage I have to monitor the speed so finely so we stay close enough, therefore I’m not always able to go full throttle all the way through. You are 100% with regards to the gybe, for those who switch feet before flipping the sail, the feet comes earlier. I flip my sail, then switch my feet afterwards, so a few split seconds on reverse stance before I switch. This method has been working brilliantly for me. I find that gybing style is a very personal preference, as long as you are planing out of the gybe, whichever method gives you the most confidence and consistency is the best one 👍

Great video (again) What is the temp atm? Do you still need a full Neopreen?

Thank you so much!! The water temperature is quite cold… but I like to wear a 3/2 wetsuit, so that I can move freely and not overheat when I don’t fall off. 🤙

@@KarovanTonder I'm so looking forward not to surf in temps of 5/6 degrees, wearing a cap, handgloves, neopreen5/6 and a windjacket.... Would be nice to have a comfortable 20/25 degrees. Not to mention the wind this winter, it was (and still is) so gusty. Difference of 8-10 knots between normal wind and the gusts. Difficult to make a choice which size sail we need. Let's hope for better times, temps are going up now, woehoeeee
