Taraweeh is very mind soothing in that mosque. Interesting thing today sky before iftaar is the same. Thanks to the brother who is with you. May Allah give him and you reward.
"Ismail" is a name of Arabic origin, often transliterated from Arabic as "Ishmael" in English. Ismail is a significant figure in Islamic tradition, recognized as the elder son of the prophet Ibrahim (Abraham in English). He is considered a prophet in Islam and is mentioned in the Quran. Additionally, Ismail plays a role in Jewish and Christian traditions as well, as the son of Abraham, though there may be variations in how his story is interpreted among different religious traditions.
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar and holds immense significance for Muslims worldwide. It is a time of fasting, self-reflection, spiritual growth, and increased devotion to Allah. Fasting during Ramadan, from dawn until sunset, is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, representing a fundamental act of worship and obedience. It fosters empathy for the less fortunate, encourages self-discipline, and promotes a sense of community through shared meals and prayers. Ramadan also marks the revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad, making it a time for intensified recitation and study of the holy book. Additionally, the last ten days of Ramadan include Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Power, which is believed to be the night when the Quran was first revealed and is considered the most auspicious time for prayer and seeking divine blessings. Overall, Ramadan holds deep spiritual significance and serves as a time for Muslims to strengthen their connection with Allah and their community.
If you want to meet and talk to an Imam (Muslim Scholar), you can come to our masque which is "Eastern Plus Shopping Complex Masque" on the 6th floor of Eastern Plus Shopping Complex. You can come after the Tarawih prayer at 9:40 pm. Our Imam sometimes answers questions or talks with people at that time. If you want I can help you too 😁
@9.56 The man explaining why his name is 'Ismael'. Ismael(pbuh) was the prophet of God. Prophet Abraham had 2 sons. One was Issac(pbuh) from Sarah and another was Ismael (pbuh) from Hagar. From Ismael (pbuh) prophet Muhammad came and from Issac((pbuh), prophet Moses, prophet Jesus came. We muslims believe Prophet Abraham (pbuh) went to sacrifice His son Ismael... Whereas Christians and jews believe it was Issac(pbuh). In commemoration of this sacrificing event we celebrate "Eid ul Adha". You will find these in New and old testaments as well.
For an imam I can give you a suggetion, go to Baitul mukarram during Jummuah prayer(weekly prayer) but earlier so that you can stay closer to the central Imam or the Khatib who is a scholar after jummuah and sunnah when the Imam will go back then you can ask him questions
MashaAllah, My brother. I think you should try to read the English translated version of the Holy Quran. Reading the Holy Quran is a part of Ramadan.❤❤
Just Before breaking the fast when foods are in front of you, pray to God and thanks to God for giving Us the food, There is a Teachings behind, that you can feel the pain of those poor people who are not able to eat twice a day and islam also teaches us to give to others who are in need. So be humble, be patient and believe to god who create us all and we can realize Those things through Ramadan. It is a purifying process of your heart and soul.
Brother read "The Sirah of the Prophet" by Yasir Qadhi. That would be a great thing to do in ramadan. In the Islamic context, Seerah mainly refers to the biography of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Well yes you can pray whenever you want but there are three time period in the whole day when it is prohibited to pray. (though the time period is very small...)
If you want we can meet up. I live in the UK, but currently I am in Dhaka. I am not an Imam but I will try my best to answer your questions or find someone who can.
You should go our religious schools called Madrasa. It will make you happy. The faces of thoose child got a lot of innocence and fruitfulness. There you could meet with the scholars(Emam).
Please visit Gulshan Azad Mosque (Gulshan Circle-2). You may find the Imam over there who Insha'Allah will be able to answer your questions. Peace be upon you.
See? Not all Bangladeshis are bad. This is what makes me proud about my people. Bad people are everywhere, but a few peoples' actions don't define the entire population. Happy to see you're having a great time with our people! You could visit Badda once, me and my friends will take you to the best food places around our campus. If we could convince the authority, we might even bring you in to BRACU campus. It's beautiful! Good luck for your Ramadan challenge. Long live Murgi squad!
Brother Qur'an is the biggest miracle. One of reasons it is in arabic so that its purity doesn't change unlike the Bible which is a copy of Hebrew to greek to latin to English. The Quran remains the same. Other reasons are that it is such a rich language. You can express many things just by one word in arabic. That's why God chose to reveal it in Arabic. Another miracle you can test by yourself. Learn any chapter from Quran. It will be very hard to forget even though it is not our mother tongue and one of hardest language in the world. You will be amazed to know right now there are over millions of people who can recite Quran from their memory. The whole Quran, word by word, letter by letter. I haven't seen any priest can memorize Bible in Greek!!!!" Try it yourselves. It is because God has promised it to keep until the last day. If you burn all Quran in the world, people will reproduce it within hours. Isn't it fascinating? There are many scientific facts in Quran as well which will blow your mind like Embriology, astronomy, Geology etc etc. You can check scientific miracles of Qur'an in youtube as well. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

your question was what is Ramadan. - I would like to start from the very beginning. there are 5 basic pillars of Islam: Profession of Faith (shahada). Now come into discussion. if you look into it shahada is the main gate to enter into Islam. if someone embrace Islam then based on situation rest 4 things are mandatory for him/her to follow. and all those things are designed to build both a good connection with Allah and a good society. Islam empalsizes on society by these basic tools. 1) if someone pray salat/namaz but his neighbour is hungry(has no food) and he doesn't take care of that poor neighbour then his salat will not be accepted to Allah. and when they come in mosque there is no class/race all are same. then can share anything to one another. that's how a good society can be built. . 2) fasting: firstly ramadan include not fasting from food but also fasting from all types of bad deeds. so it helps to get connected to Allah for the true fasting-people. but still fasting from food has good importance because it helps us to realize the pain of poor people so that we all can help them because as we know the pain of a people out of food and water. . 3) Zakat: as we already have realised the pain of poor people so now we should give Alms to the poor by which they can be benefited. and this is not Marcy of the rich to the poor but it's the right of poor in our wealth. so the rich must have to pay it properly with due respect. . 4) Hajj: it refers to the annual get together for all Muslim all around the world in the holiest place of Islam to pray and get instruction together. it's the holiest place to get connected with allah(if any one can worship properly) - Thank you.
