Hey Guys, hope you are enjoying the weather, 27 degrees celsius here in Holland, is way above the average! I flew out the AM-1 Mauler this week, and i had a lot of fun in it. Very versatile plane, that can shine in a lot of modes! Make sure to Like, Comment, Share, Subscribe and all that Jazz, I highly appreciate it. Be sure to join my discord, locals and rumble channels as well! Links are in the discription. Have a good one today! o7
I've been flying it for the last month. Yesterday I switched to AD4 and i'm positively shock by its vertical turn rate. it made me win some interesting dogfights with fighters. how would you compare the two?
Ah yes all those options of: 1. Get successfully intercepted by any plane that goes after you 2. Nobody goes after you so you get 30 ground kills for piss all reward
This is my base bombing grinder. I use it like a Ju-288, and then once I deliver my bombs I turn on ground targets or fools who think I am defenseless.
Somehow the Maulers and Skyraiders are some of my highest winrate and kill/death ratio planes which I am shocked by as they seemed clunky when I first unlocked them but their firepower to mobility ratio is so nice. Their ability to escape or kill an opposing plane after dropping your payload in Ground RB is very reliable and the Airbrake is excellent.
I flew one of these aviation gems. Guess what? The Navy decided to give them away. Then, on to Grumman F-8. A REAL GEM! Guess what? The Navy gave them away. Then on to a AD Skyraider. Good aircraft and had many fine qualities BUT would never fly like the two ships I had before it.
Just so you know, this thing accelerates in 4.0-5.0 and 5.0-6.0 simulator battles. Unlike realistic, simulator is an enduring confrontation that can take hours to complete and gives you unlimited respawns, charging you lions up front to do so which can easily be paid off doing objectives. The objectives it does spawn are often bombing bases, repelling ground forces or assisting them(which just means bombing the ground force painted red), destroying convoys, sinking ships, shooting down attack aircraft and/or surveillance planes. This plane can do all of it and comfortably. It get's TWELVE 250 IB bombs along with up to three 2000 IB bombs on the center three hard points, which means after a bit of bombing practice, you can literally kill 15 ground force vehicles which would easily be enough to make that objective a victory. (I tend to drop two 250 IB bombs on individual targets, but you can do 1. All the ground vehicles have simulated damage models though so you have to be accurate.) With 3 2000 pound bombs, you can destroy 1 and a half bases, sink cruisers and destroyers, and with your huge cannons and the large amount of ammo they have, you can destroy whole formations of bombers with ease as well as take out tanks from their side and rear armor if you've got the aim. The engine is deceptively powerful, it's handling gets really tricky when fully loaded with bombs making tight turns a death sentence as they send you spiraling into the ground. For repelling ground attacks, I take twelve 250 IB and three 500 IB, makes handling much better than going maximum weight load. For bombing bases, I simply go 3 IB bombs. While there will be enemy players, if you keep your altitude low, most will never see you but if it does come to a dog fight, don't turn fight, try to make a pass and then just evade until you reach an air strip where your friendly AA can handle it. I've had whole sessions were I didn't die only to come out with hundreds of thousands of lions and research points. It really does do just about anything with ease, aside from PVP dogfighting, so avoid that.
Can I ask if your finding any difference in belts at the moment? Especially USA/UK I'm using the same belts I've used for months but seem to be getting hits/crits, but no kills. Average player so usually get a plane and a few assists at least lol. Glad your still doing this though, got hooked a few years ago on your videos when I started the game ( Edit I play props only)Cheers
Cheers mate, i've just recently moved over to tracers in us planes, on the .50 cals that is. as they have ap and i components in there on every shell. And i dont mind the extreme fireworks anymore, that used to keep me away from tracers. The gunnerf on 20mm HE filler hasnt been good for the 20mm guns. I usually use air targets or universal, depending on the belt composition.
HE round has been badly affected by RealShatter. This is why most of the aircraft cannons doesn''t do good anymore or give you more crits/hits than kills. German 151 mineshell isn't affected as much apparently because it has a bigger HE filler proportionally.
@@alexhurlbut Wondered what had happened and didn't think it would effect RB as much as it has. Germany was fine but when I hoped to US/UK it was just so different. I haven't even tried IJN yet. Thanks for the reply
@@kitkatfisher7018 yeah it really hurt the Japanese cannons. You have to go for any belt that doesn't rely on HE rounds so much (including HEFI or Fragmentary rounds). Which mean...go AP as much as you can and rely on trying to snipe the plane's modules because AP need to hit something to damage that specific something.
I got slap by am1 mauler on a winter in air rb after a chase in my bf109k4 vs an f2g and his buddy decided to come and help and i tried and i underestimate his speed and I got killed. So the ju288 vs am1? The am1 won the match.
The ad2 atleast feels like it meneuvers better. But biggest difference is going to be the torpedos for the am-1. 3 torpedos vs ad-2 has 1. Not crazy huge for air ab unless you wanna practice dropping them for when you do naval. Will say. I dropped a torpedo first time the other day and it was badass as fuck. Watching it hit the water then the propulsion system on the torpedo kicks in and sweet destruction on a destroyer. So bigger difference in naval cas vs ground cas.

i guess thats a tactic too :)
I skipped the AM-1 and the AD-2 and went straight to the AD-4 because it can take the mighty mouse rockets. I'll make sure to check out the AM-1.
You should, its worth your time :)
Am-1 is a beast. Does great in air ab. It slaps in ground rb. And 3 fuckin torpedos for naval! Cant beat that at the br.
I just started using this tank of a plane recently for cas and it’s great. Great video as always man
nice coincidence! :)

Tank?... everytime I'm hit with a single burst half a wing gets sheared like I ran into a giant knife.

I will give it a go, once i will unlock it, it may take a while with this economy system 😅
I don't envy folks just getting into the game now. The economy was bad enough like 3 years ago. It's absolutely terrible now.
yeah absolutely, lets hope Gaijin has something positive for us on the 14th!
Love this plane, thanks for the video brutha!
you're welcome sir! o7
I mastered aiming w btd guns so it is really fun to use to dogfight, i like to use wierd planes to dogfight

i bought the Lieutenant America skin for it!!!! its my fav plane

Ah yes AM-1 Uno reverse card when Bf109 and Do335 try to dog fight you without brain.
it happens all the time ;)
They underestimate you most of the time, i have out turned spitfires, yaks and a7s with flaps
@@minisaiju922 If they have Brain and fly extend always then AM 1 kinda fuk up
this thing i love playing
except those times im on the deck and have a 109K or spitfire dive on me
hehe, yeah fair enough ;)
can you try doing the a 1h skyraider
Hello! Hope you are doing well.
Doing well indeed! hope youare fine as well! o7
Hello Jengar, which plane is more fun in your opinion? F2g vs the 5.0 br f8f. Would love to see your recommendation of the most fun planes at each br
How tf do you even get the f2g??

When the P & W 3350 power plant was upgraded this aircraft began a favorable performance record. BUT politics and bribery brought about its demise.
