That's exactly the problem l have I got 04 camry and installed coilover and have the same clunk noise I saved this video to show my mechanic thank you man!
Always a pleasure to watch your videos 👌 greetings from Luxembourg
Philippe Schommer Thankyou🙏🏻
Thank you for the video... I put coil overs on my 2018 GTI SE. I work crazy hours so ... I dont have as much time to fix things.. The messed up part... The kit says to only re-use the top rubbers... I am thinking they don't expect people to take out the bottoms since they are so hard to remove.. I removed the bottoms. Next weekend I will add them back. Thank you in advance.. I really hope it works..
Top stuff bro
Antony V 🙌🏻
Going to check mine now. Had a clunking on my S3 since fitting coils and it managed to find the source
Did this sort your problem?
Could you experience this problem even with stock suspension? I have been hearing a clunking sound in the trunk of my mk7 GLI that I think has happened from the crappy roads here where I am at.
great vid👌
stephen milne Thankyou👍🏻
… I put the rubber bit on top of the spring
Could that be causing the noise?
I have this but in the front driver side uk car mk7.5 gti with some st suspensions on it
I had BC’s on my mk6 Jetta and those clunked like mad. Once I did those bolt spacers on the bottom of the strut it took care of the issue
Alex Pike good to know 👍🏻
I’m having this issues on the front driver side coil over . Same BCs are you suggesting I look into this ?
I just put on coil overs on my mk6 jetta. Both rear shocks clunk like crazy. I was scared to even drive back home. What’s the fix?
@@cadenw3944 my springs are clunking like crazy in driver side, especially when I break
@@mikeschafer4440 hm weird. It ended up being just my rear driver side strut the bolts were loose. It still clunks over big bumps but not too bad i can live with it. Also you said your springs clunk. What I would do is make sure the top mounts in the front are tight because they can be loose. And also, a very common problem to springs clunking is the two locking nuts used to adjust the height on the coilovers aren’t tight. Make sure they are tight and locked together
How did you adjust the rear height i need help
I had to do this for my passat and it worked
How did you set the preload?
Had the same issue with my audis5 front springs would make a knocking sound when turning or on speed bumps - bill-stein have sent a rubber bushing see if that works
Did you have to pay for them?
Thought this was going to be a rap when video first started,
Pretty much same thing I did to my rear springs 😂 can’t knock it if it works👌🏻
Just remember those bolts are tq to yield so really they should be replaced each time they are removed.
Nicko Vdub I suppose so but I’ve taken these out of pretty much every car I’ve had and put them back in and had no issues at all, I’m sure VW say this to cover them selves and Thanks for the info
I bought new struts, new mounts and bought compressor and did the job my self. After I went for a drive test, my problem was finish, except now, there a boing noise on the driver side when I'm turning to the max...Maybe I put the coul upside down, will check it out. Any comments?
Spring isolators
How's it holding up so far? Did it solve some of the clunking and clanging?
Gary Yeung it’s be great no clunking at all
Hi I have fitted lowering springs to my mk7 they were fine for about two weeks but the fronts are clicking any ideas
Where can i buy these from
Eduard Tomas you can get these from www.driftworks.com/
@@jamesr50 what are they called on the website? Coil spring seats doesn't turn up any results. Also those look like theyre the oem coil seats?
My shit makes thump noise only wen I hit bump like frame hitting
Check passenger(right front) axle. at least on mk5/mk6 they can hit the frame rail when slammed
