Gareth Thomas coming out is was gave me the kick in the butt I needed to get off my fat ass and get out and play rugby. All the guys on my team are str8 and give me 100% support and I know I wouldn't have these friendships if it weren't for Gareth Thomas. (Next comment intended as humor) Now if only he weren't a filthy Leaguer...
I'm not gay but I find think it's quite disgusting that there is homophobia in sport. It's almost like (to an extent) black people in the late 60s/early 70s. I'm doing an extended project on homophobia in sport for school, and good luck to any gay people facing homophobia in sport.
@marcellin20 I knew you would - I am not talking about media views on homophobia - but international agencies such as Amnesty International - GLAAD - StoneWall - Harvey Milk Foundation - Equality Authority - GOVERNMENT NGO's etc - & actually Civil Unions-laws protecting lgbt people - equal age of consent - employment laws exist in Ireland which puts it in the top 10 most advanced countries in the world for LGBT rights/protection - I am overjoyed to announce that fact
i think the issue is,do you want to to see a hetro couple swapping lunch? no.but a gay couple holding hand's or a quick kiss is fine,relax guy's these people might be your boss,chill out they are good people trust me!
@marcellin20 - first off Global reports on homophobia in youth culture show that your point is wrong - second who is Gareth???? you think that a certain level of homophobia/discrimination is OK - you lost me somewhere on the other things you wrote there -
