Former Wales rugby union captain Gareth Thomas uses hidden-camera footage to investigate attitudes to homosexuality, and explores why, despite all the legislation, homophobic attacks are on the rise.
I met Gareth Thomas yesterday and he was kind enough to have a photo taken with my 3 year old son Then today a "friend" of my dad's told him that I made an " error of judgement" in letting my son have a photo taken with Gareth Thomas because " he's gay" . Following a huge rant on my facebook status , 40 likes on my status and 14 comments saying what a ignorant and careless person to say something like that Iam happy to say that not everyone thinks the same. Thank you Gareth for the photo , keep being the kind, friendly person you are and don't worry what some of the ignorant minority think because here in Wales your a complete legend !!
As a gay person, be aware of a cruel form of bullying that can occur in a predominantly heterosexual environment. Women/individuals may try humiliate a (gay) male about 'lack of ability' with members of the opposite sex (play 'psychological rape' games) or infer a male is making 'unwanted advances' at them. This can have the effect of displacing a victim into another psychological position, branding them a simply as a 'sexual failure'. Certain bullies will also try to verbally discount the use of modern terminology like 'homophobia', or not recognise its validity. In more sophisticated academic circles, other minority groups can be placed in a higher ranking over a (gay) male. Use set terms like 'that's sexual orientation' to combat this form of behaviour.
Geez, this is somewhat terrifying. The fight for gay rights is reaching a state of Mutually Assured Destruction. The more rights we secure the more society seems to resent us for it. The more victories we obtain the stronger our opposition becomes.
@stubru16 It might be because girls are more sympathetic and understanding than the masculine boys. It does seem to be that way and until society fully accepts it then I can't see it changing to be honest.

@deniro999 It's not about having MORE rights, it's about EQUALITY. Of course it doesn't fucking exist, and unfortunately the disabled are an unlistened to community. Life's unfair, but it doesn't mean we have to accept it. If you care, show that you care.
I'm a girl, and I think Gareth Thomas is fucking beautiful for being out. And ironically, he's one of the least "pretty" and most rugged-looking Rugby players in the League. So much for the stereotype that all gay men look metrosexual. Rugby is probably the most gay-friendly sport out there, though. If a guy currently active in any other sport came out, his career would be pretty much over. It's great that most rugby fans that I know have the class to be accepting of Gareth.
That's false i'm a straight male and i'm more bothered by lesbians then gay men. Some thing about a women being more into a female then a male bothers me but to each their own.

I must live in a bubble, I'm a gay man who lives in the United States and I've never experienced hate or non acceptance due to my sexual orientation. Most people I work with and know are very accepting. I don't why some gay guys seem to always have problems with discrimination and others don't.
True, for the most part. As long as they don't act "butch" and are perceived beautiful by men, they'd garner more "WOOOOH" than "UGH EW" when kissing in public. Ah, the world we live in...
@deniro999 my church has a disabled acess and a lift. it has always been that way. most new church have it. i want to campaign for better rights for work and also accesablity.
i dont have anything against lesbians but its so much easier for lesbians to say im gay than it is for men. people arnt really bothered if its lesbians but why is it so hard for gay men?

It bothers me that i can't have them....to me they are made to reproduce...i think it just natural for me to be a little bugd by it.
