    I also did the course and it was very informative to be honest. The amount of information provided is immense and goes just beyond studying.
    You learn things like how to collaborate with other, receive feedback, prepare for interviews for junior UX roles, and advice if you want to become a freelance.
    Things to watch out are:
    Avoid using multiple platforms like different desktop devices because that might erase some of, even all your progress in your course.
    There’s a lot of copying from other peoples’ work which I personally to agree with. Some people will do minimal work but expect you to give the a good score.
    However, if you’re ever thinking of doing this course, don’t even have doubts about finishing it. It’s totally worth because it teaches you critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and prepares you for a wide array of opportunities.

    Hello Aliena, I think that many people jump into UX design without really asking the most important question which is, “Is UX design for me and do I enjoy doing it?” I am taking a free course from Coursera to help me answer that question. I suggest those who don’t know UX like myself do the same before putting money down.

      I do not think people would spend their time and energy if they do not like or enjoy the UX design process. Majority of people would know after completing maybe 10% of the course that this is not for them.

      I am in section 6 of 7 for this google UX course and I think it sucks. It's all out of order with one section talking about something you haven;t learned about yet. Then you get to the next day and they introduce you to the subject that you had to google the day before. There are LINKS in the course that say "Go back for a refresher on this topic if you are confused." When you click the link it takes you to future classes you have not done yet. HOW BACKWARDS!!! HOW FRUSTRATING!!!
      Not to mention, Coursera has some of the worst UX I have seen and to have a UX course hosted here is simply mixing signals. Google seems more concerned with teaching us about gender non-binary folks than UX. I am a proud supporter of my LGBTQIA+ community, including helping to book the first (and second) biggest pride parades in my city. But when every example in this course has multiple make believe people in it, all identifying as they/them, it becomes damn near impossible to know what the quiz questions are asking, or who we are talking about. It's an embarrassingly pathetic attempt at virtue signalling during a paid course. Go anywhere else if you are a beginner and avoid the confusion.

    • @B_Migs
      @B_Migs ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@bhaskarsawant8491 there are three projects you will work on for the google course. Two of them have you doing case studies in detail, but just like my previous comment the courses are often times very poorly organized and rather frustrating. There are some UX you tubers that have reviewed the course and say the exact same thing.

    Thanks for the review of Google UX Design. Your positive review was helpful for me to decide whether should I take it or not. Was little bit hesitating that this 7 courses may take longer time. Not bragging about myself, I was able to finish all 7 courses in 44 days (and I did not skip) mostly due to my background in this field. I'm just trying to encourage others (experienced one's) to give it a try as well, don't hesitate about how long the course is. It took me quite a bit of my time to finish it and I enjoyed the last one a lot. It's a recap of 5 & 6 course, but allows us to design our own unique project.

    Hello UXers! On this Sunday, I invited the co-founder of ADPList Felix Lee for an interview. I'm writing this to ask you all what questions you would like to ask him. Felix Lee has worked as the design lead for multiple companies and co-founded many companies.
    If you are a UX designer, you might know ADPList. It is a platform to find mentors and participate in career-related seminars. There are many great UX designers on the platform that offers mentorship.
    With that being said, please comment down below regarding questions you would like to ask Felix Lee. I will ask him the questions on Sunday and release the interview video next week on my TH-cam Channel, "Aliena Cai". Have a great week ahead!

    I agree with your opinion that the volume on course 6 & 7 are incomparable with 5 other courses Lol I’m now almost done course 6. One thing I want them to improve is communication features in between other students. Making a good connection with other designer in the world would be much more excitement than just learning on your own :)

      As a person who completed the Project Management Google Certificate, I can also agree that the interaction with other students is very limited if not there at all. In my case, aside from the Project Management peer review assignments, I almost never interacted with anybody else from that class. The way that it was structured and making users to a separate forum to talk about the different assignments made it more of a hassle then having maybe a toggle chat feature to talk to other students.

    • @akj3344

    • @DNK_KND
      @DNK_KND 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@akj3344 I mean there are way more tasks and assignments at course 6 & 7 compare to the previous ones (course 1 to 5).
      I assume that you’re still working on the first mobile app product, and you’ll have one more month to complete it. However at course 6, you’ll have to complete a responsive website design with at least 3 different sizes of devices only for a month through the whole process as you did during the last 5 courses. At course 7, you’ll get new other project which has same amount of tasks as course 6. In addition, you’ll get to create your own portfolio website just for a month. (One responsive mobile app + one responsive website)
      Here is a great review about Google UX design certificate in case you want to know more details about the rest of this course.

    Hi Elena,
    I know in the beginning of the google UX course they mention how they will prepare you for job interviews and help you with finding a job. Are you at that stage yet and how did you find it?

      Hey there, it will provide you the skill that is needed and take you through 3 projects to build a portfolio. However, it is better is you make sure you have real life project (collaborated with other people and launched the product). Otherwise, it might be better to start with freelancing. I am currently freelancing :)

      I've finished it today!
      Since you have already enrolled 10 months before me.
      Could you please tell me what you have been doing since then?
      Did you finish the course?
      Did you land a job or freelancing?
      Did you build a portfolio with 3 or more projects?

    How much coding knowledge does one need to be able to successfully take this course? Are there any pre-requisites we need to keep in mind?

    • @AlienaCai
      @AlienaCai  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there, you don't need to code a single line:) No pre-requisite :) Maybe English?
