    This is farming done right. Take the time to train the calves before they go out. Saves a lot of time and hassle in the long run.

    Going good there Adrain. Calves looking well. Grass looking better. Your the envy of most of the country with that grass. Worst year in a long time forr grass growth, but its been dry so we cant really complain.

    Fab stuff lad!!! Watching and waiting for em to nose up to the wire and others wrapping the tongue around it never looses it's funny side and the serious side a training em to the fencer either...… Silo empty and ready to go again too ….. cracking bunch of heifers and calves too god bless em!!!       Farmer P there a bit dirty and dusty from lying on rubber matts rather than straw this last week but should clean up in a few days. 20 degrees yesterday and 9 degrees today with a northerly wind. Hopefully no chills 🥶🥶, very usually weather 🤦‍♂️

      Mags Prettejohn they won’t go within a meter of the fence after 1 or 2 shocks, very important though to make sure they have all learnt that lesson before they get out as it only takes 1 devil to mess up the day 😊

    Ohh yes the lovely elector fence you can move the wildest of cattle if they know what it is I've a loving sight of seeing calves touch the fence cause I strip graze my sucklers and the calves chawed the fencer wore to bits and then the lectirc wire the calves cows had the fence everywhere

    Great looking bunch of heifers and calves, is all your first cut in the pit or do ya make a few bales first cut aswell, not far off 9k now and you havent been at TH-cam long, really shows the quality of videos 👍

      We use Super Cream or Shine, but I tend to keep them on sweet milk for as long as I can, they tend to do much better

    I use fence only few weeks after this my calves never tocuh it again so i turn power off and uing just white wire instead. Never see cows outside wire line

      colm kil don’t be, our dairy grazing platform at home is very bare, this ground hasn’t been grazed this year yet hence the cover. Thanks for watching lad 👍

    What we do is lock them in a small square in the field with a real and let them get a few shocks and then after 5 minutes we make it bigger and then the next day we take it down and let them run around the field. Also when will those heifers be calving

      Ultan Brady we calve them at 2 years old, so this batch will be mostly January and February with 1 in March that’s a bit younger

      Gerard Mccarthy about 3-4 hours in the yard with the fence and then there out to grass for go hopefully

      Antony farming silage ground is doing great, we’ll have a good crop this year and hopefully have it in the pit within the next 2weeks.

      Hi Abbie, that’s a 6ft 6, it’s ok, a bit shallow and the large single ram is slow, If I was buying again I’d go back to Woods which is what we had b4, it’s much stronger overall and better all round. I just bought this one as it’s what the dealer had in stock but I sort of regret it now. Depends on what you need it for really

    Grate bunch of calfs good grass for them will you cut back on meal or keep feeding same amount. Fence in yard is the only way 👍

      Valmet 605 yes definitely, I’ll actually enjoy doing it but I need to collect old photos and things to show as much as possible, my father is giving me loads of help on machinery he used in him day which I never knew he had.
