@@abhinavrajesh2975 When all of the cows in this video were females, and almost all of the breeds being Jersey, Ayrshire, or Fresian. , I heavily doubt these cattle are being raised for slaughter. Often dairy cattle continue to live on the farm until they die of old age, or until they are so old they are no longer profitable, at which point they are sold for slaughter at a very low profit (if at all) There is very little meat on most dairy breeds. Cross breeds can have good balance though. A Jersey farmer I knew would breed his lower producing dairy cows with wagyu, as both breeds have good marble and the wagyu would increase the yield. But this is only because he did not want to add the lower performing genes to his producing flock. Dairy breeds on their own are not good for the production of meat in good quantity. There is a reason why large scale producers have been breeding cattle so specifically for hundreds of years. This farmer may be trying to breed a more balanced flock though, as it is strange for so many different breeds to be on the same farm. Besides, a good temperament of the herd is actually good for milk production. Not to mention the costs saved on the fence posts which would be getting destroyed otherwise. Keeping beef cows calm matters most in the last days of moving them and in the last minutes at the slaughter house. After all, the farmer can keep them in the picture of happiness all their lives, but the meat will be much tougher and even adopt a bitter taste if they are mistreated during transportation and at their stay in the slaughter yards out the back of the abattoir. This is why, in any area of the cattle trade, it is in the best interests of all businessmen, workers, and farmers that the cattle remain calm and happy.
They usually itch on trees, if there are none of those then fence posts, none of that then they scratch their faces on the ground, roll over or use their leg. Plus he said he had had one previously on their barn

@@maria_zakrevskaya it's about having respect for the life (or energy and nutrients in the form of eggs or dairy) that was given so that you could eat (and hopefully enjoy it). It's not clear if an animal that is raised in a factory farm setting cognitively comprehends that it is in poor conditions, but they certainly show signs of stress, both physically and behaviorally. They also show positive changes in behavior when moved from those types of conditions to healthier, more enriched ones. Even if they don't realize it, we do. @@damararemeis488 Makes sense, sick or stressed women also have a tough time producing quality milk. And it's generally known that happier animals generally are healthier than bored ones.
@@damararemeis488
In the USA it's pretty similar, but most cows atleast in my expierence have huge pastures with filtered pawns and huts instead of scratching posts, so it's sortave balanced in that regard. Stressed cows make bad tasting meat. So its in farmers best interest to keep them happy.
In my country we use rotating cow brushes. an electric engine is mounted onto to spin the brush.
It's actually more common than you think. I've met tons of farmers that said they didn't eat their cows because they're family (pets).
I love how curious cows are lol. you guys started digging and all of a sudden one cow appears out of nowhere. before you know it the whole heard is coming over to see what's happening.

I'm jealous of how deep and rich that soil is. They bored straight down into it for four feet and didn't hit a boulder once!
I was thinking they should have bored it down first before digging up a large circle of sod. If they had any boulders, it could have taken quite a few goes to get it right.
Farm life at its finest
Where are you that a boulder is that common? Where I'm at I can go quite a bit without a rock or anything in the way, I mean I'll drown before I hit rock 9/10. I also live in florida though so weirder things have happened.
@Banditpsycho 503 I have dug trenches for re-enactments for medieval, civil war, and WW reenactments. Trenches needed to be 3-6 feet deep.
@@rasgrizrevelations4145 To be fair deep soil is to be expected in alluvial plains like much of Florida and the UK. I'm just used to everything aside from that, where the soil is just renting and the rocks are the landlords.

@@abhinavrajesh2975 * they're milking cows.
@@Celeste-vp9nj
I heard that milking cows have more tender meat.
