  • In this video I break down the top five locations to find silver coins in old parks. As many of my followers know I primarily hunt old parks. Most of the parks I metal detect have been hunted hard by 100's or even 1000's of detectorists over the last 40-50 years. I have managed to find hundreds of silver coins in these parks left behind by other detectorists. I wanted to pass along my experience and give others tips to finding these overlooked coins.
    I hope you enjoy the video and find it useful! Don't forget to hit the like button so others will see this video as well! Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for this video. I am going out tomorrow morning to an old hotel/resort site (now vacant), and there is an overgrown sidewalk and even a few places where sidewalk was removed. Very excited to see what turns up!

      Well, I went out this morning and didn't find much (nails, aluminum, but no coins). The lot was trashier and more overgrown than I thought it would be. It was worth a shot, though, and it was interesting to visit the ruins of the building (just a stone foundation and broken glass now). Time to do some more research and find a better site.

      @@rossyco195 unfortunately that is the way it goes sometimes. But at least you know now and you won't sit around wondering what if. Better luck on your next site!

    Great info Ben. I would like to add looking under any bleachers around ball fields and near any park provided rest rooms.

    Ben, awesome! I started as a teenager back in the mid 70's with Whites... I finally went to the NOX 800. I appreciate your good tips, as I learn how to use this new machine :-)

    Great stuff Ben! Looking to see if you'd make a detailed video of settings you use in parks. Would love to compare your settings to the ones I use with my Nox 600

      Thanks! A settings video is on my to do list. I might get that done in the next week or two since we are in a drought now and it is going to be too hot and dry to detect most places. Stay tuned!

    Ben, thanks for the information and tips for finding silver in parks. Any chance you can provide some of the Nox settings(Park 1 or 2, Fe, F2 setting, etc) you hunt with at a park? Thanks a bunch!!!

    • @detectorben8007
      @detectorben8007  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Dave!! If you go back and watch some of my previous park hunt videos I often give my settings right after the intro. I may adjust sensitivity due to EMI or ground conditions or recovery speed but otherwise my settings are generally the same. I do hunt in park 1 mode 98% of the time. I always use F2 iron bias 0-2 range generally.

    Question my 800 seems to do really well with silver and your videos have helped but I never find gold. When I do test with my wife’s jewelry it seems to range from 1 to 9. But I can’t seem to dial it in and I dig a lot of trash. Could you do a video on gold and your experience with finding it thank you

    • @detectorben8007
      @detectorben8007  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I mostly hunt for silver coins. I occasionally find gold jewelry but that is because larger gold rings will ring up 18 or higher on equinox. If it is below 18 and not a nickel signal around 13 I rarely dig it. There is just too much trash and junk targets that come in same as gold range. Only place I would dig that range would be on the beach where jewelry is much more common. This is an issue with any brand detector. Gold is one of the hardest things to find because of the large amounts of trash that has same or similar conductivity to gold such as tin and aluminum.

    What do you have wrapped around you handgrip?

    • @detectorben8007
      @detectorben8007  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is grip tape. The stock rubber grip is very thin and wears out quickly.
