  • In this video I headed back to one of my favorite parks in a small town dating back to 1850s! I wanted to test the V3.0 update and 4khz frequency further especially on very deep coins. The more I use this 4khz the more impressed I am. It is like adding anther metal detector to your arsenal! Check out the results in this video with live digs!

      Yep it will false on iron and some trash as well. That is why I check targets in multi then the vdi drops and iron tones come through if it is trash. I have eliminated most of the trash that way.

    When you dig signals that may be good its an idea to carry a plastic digging tool when you get close to target. I know because I scratched the oldest silver I ever found. You learn the hard way.

      4khz is not being used in multi-frequency so the machine shouldn't have changed in that regard. It's the "other" adjustments to the software you should be concerned about. And minelab hasn't really said much about that.

      @@geraldb8856 that is correct 4khz is not utilized in multi. However we do not know what the "other stabalization" improvements are so that is why we test the update in multi as well as 4khz

    Great video Ben. I’m still learning how to use my minelab 800. I’ve used a Teknetics T2 for a while now. So it looks like what you’re doing is using multi mode to locate the target then switch to 4khz on the iffy targets to zero in on them? This looks like it would be good for going back through over hunted areas I guess?
    Thanks
    Ryan

    • @detectorben8007
      @detectorben8007  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I usually hunt in multi and if I get a deep signal that is not really clear or solid I will check it in 4k. It will usually clean up a lot and hit solid coin numbers if it is a coin. Some nails especially bent ones will trick you. Good luck with your 800!

      @detectorben8007  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes generally Indians are around 19 but I do see them hit up into the 30s sometimes. Depending on the condition of the coin and soil conditions it can vary quite a bit. Any coin signal that is deep I'm going to dig anyway so I don't worry about the numbers too much.

    I been using field 1, but i been doing a lot of farm land exploring. I have not tried a park field yet. I still get nails and lead chunks, but i think going for copper coins that are deep it will happen.. Somtimes i wait for a lot of rain to soak the ground, and spots that i been over before i found new coins. I bet if the ground is wet, my equinox can do a good 7-9 inches, just have to slow down when you get a good blimp or a chirp on the machine and go over it a lot, then you can get the deeper targets i feel like.

Its like watching someone dig a grave with a spoon. Granted, that sandy soil is tough anyway but minimum will save you loads of time digging targets. Should also use a drop cloth for soil in public places. Much worse was some idiot I saw on here probing the ground with a screwdriver to hit and find the target before digging

A lot of concern here for my plugs but I always take great care to put the soil and plug back in and brush over the area. You cannot even see my plugs once I am done. I have been hunting these local parks on a weekly basis for over 6 years. I run into parks and rec all the time and they are very happy with how I treat the park and how I leave the area cleaner than when I arrived. I also carry a cloth in my pouch at all times and use it when necessary. I understand the concern as I have seen detectorists leave parks a mess full of holes and trash.
