Hey Drone Gang! Welcome back to another cinematic drone tutorial: ANATOMY OF A DRONE SHOT! An amazing aspect of our flying camera passion is that it deepens our appreciation of the outdoors. My DJI Mini 3 Pro & Mini 2 drones have really pushed me to be outside more than ever. CREATIVE DRONE SELF PORTRAITS are a great way for us to capture authentic memories of ourselves out in nature doing what we love. And of course these portrait ideas/tips work for family members / friends.

Great! Nice upload. Thanks for sharing, my friends.🥷🇯🇵
You always give us a fascinating different perspective, Ted! That's exactly what we like in our drone hobby. For example, we often think of our small flying cameras as "vehicles", as flying probes used to explore the surroundings. That's why a lot of drone footage sucks! Instead, you give excellent examples that a drone can be though as a tripod with infinite freedom. Even without moving it, photos and videos can benefit enormously from a well planned point of view.
The purest of drone ch out there , love your work man.
Great job explaining and always so engaging. Thanks!
Great stuff as always Ted!!!
Always great Infor as always Ted. Drone portraits are super creative and you took some cool shots!
Well Ted, my fav is at 7:01, I love how you gravitate to the railway tracks. I used to do the same when I was a wee lad :) You are always inspiring!. Also love your quirky handsomeness that you portray as the Gypsy of the Railroad. Keep up all the FAB work my friend!
All right another great video. This one is very interesting and very informational work. Keep up the work.
Just got a mini 3 pro and I am learning a lot from your videos
Another great episode, my dude! I have some great ideas I will try out this summer. Locations with drone selfies and my Harley. I'm pumped!
Great video Ted. Always new ideas. Thanks!!!
Well.... Read the tittle and saw "Crime Fighting"... Definitely one area i need to upgrade 😁
Awesome content. Thank you!
It makes my day when you publish a new video!!!
Step 0 just be ruggedly handsome and stylish ;)
Excellent video Ted and really useful content. Made me think about how I use my mini2… keep at it.
Great video!
I am surprised how your channel didn't take off tbh. You provide good content, good info.
Hey Ted. I am down south and I have been following your advice about Auto settings and ND filter use. Spot on! Thanks!!

Nice! The pre-shoot outline is a great addition to the Flying Camera Toolbox!
Ted is so rad, I've learned a lot from him! I like how you're real, Ted! Keep up the great work 👍 👍
Thanks for sharing Ted. Great video mate 😉👍
Great video of you and your father... now frozen in time. Drone position... vital! The cloud bank had some effect. Nice tutorial. Thank you, Ted! Good to see you. Cheers, Brendan 🤟😎👍
Always look forward to your new videos. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Great lessons shared right here, my man Ted! And I love those 1960's sunglasses!
Keep an eye out for strong candid shots... oh yeah... and trains 😅 I still love your work Ted, thanks for being you!
Preparation and composition makes for better everything. Nice work. What will you use your selfies for?
Awesome video, Ted! Thanks for the tips!
Fantastic and inspiring. Loved the dad moments.
Another fantastic video!
Great information, as always. Nice to see your Dad in your video
Another couple of questions, oh Drone Master, if I may.
• You said you prefer shooting in 24 fps over 30 fps. Why is that?
• You also said you usually shoot in 24 fps and then shoot the same scene again in 60 fps. Is that purely so you have the option of getting smoother slo-mo footage if you decide you want it?
Thanks in advance 🙂
Another great video, Ted. The possibility of drone self-portraits is something I only thought about last weekend when I used my drone properly for the first time, so I'm really glad you've explored it here.
One thing you didn't mention is just *how* you do frame grabs. Is it easy to do in LumaFusion? I thought that program was only for editing video 🤔 (Ha, I don't even have any editing software other than iMovie yet…)
Hi Ted; very very timely info from you 😮 as I’m now very much getting into my Mini 4 pro for photograph’s. Exposure bracketing [x3] with merge in post really provides very good end result so when I print to A2 it just works. Oh, I’ve changed from James’ss to Old man & remote Scottish walks. Brilliant channel you produce as always ….. thank you. (When using a snap shot, do you know if it will still produce an A2 print????)
Great video. Just a reminder......you "promised" us a "beater drone" video a while back....I'm interested to see that!
Cheers
holy smokes! you remembered that. super cool. That is on my list of episodes to make. for sure. Did you have a “beater” dirt bike or truck growing up?
@@TedNemeth Great.....looking forward to that episode. As for "beaters"....what makes you think I've grown up???? XD In any case, yes I certainly did. Many of them. Cheers
Ted: In which shots did you use your 4 stop, 8 stop, 16 and 32 stop ND filters? ;-) (That is a joke of course). More good stuff from you. Glad you shared this one because it did it not stink. ;-)
hey how did you get so close to the fishermen? I live in the south and theres a TON of fishing going on all the time. Its Illegal as hell to video tape any licensed fishing or hunting. just curious!!! Also man i wish i knew the hardcore laws for drones in TN before i decided to start a business! 8 months of nothin lol.
I’m afraid to take a selfie, is it covered under Care Fresh? 😂
Canon R6 ! WTF, have you lost your mind???
Where’s the full frame Panasonic gone? Good grief man, I’m in shock…
As a pro photographer I can assure you This 6:36 (camping out on live railroad tracks) is the stupidest shit I have seen on TH-cam in a long time.
I lived next to that rail tracks for 51 years. And OBVIOUSLY i checked the schedule & there was no train coming for 3 hours. AND…. I can clearly see for 2 miles in both directions.
Illegal though. railroads.dot.gov/railroad-safety/divisions/highway-rail-crossing-and-trespasser-programs/trespassing-prevention
Great compositions. You don't need the latest drone to get these wonderful images, I'm still using my Phantom 4 Pro.
