I was prepared to write off the IG before this announcement, it just feels right having that movement tech back. It’s what made the IG so appealing in the first place, now if only they’d up the aerial damage a bit and improved the moveset chains, then we’d really be cooking with something great
@@CheeZbredDawG i feel like the list of things they need to un-fuck should go in the following order 1. control scheme. if we have to have this iteration, please make it so i don't have to aim shit with my chin or do bizarre thumb-jutsu just to play the damn weapon 2. get rid of the charge (this is an intersection of point 1 and 3 really, the charge and RSS are the root of the weapons woes) 3. rework RSS, it's problematic right now as it does too much damage to not prioritize, but does not focus the damage to break parts / get topples and breaks the flow of the weapon by expending extracts with inconsistent returns on those extracts 4. general flow. world and rise gave us reasons to be on the ground and reasons to be in the air, id love RSS to flow into air attacks and DT to flow into ground attack etc.
It makes me hopeful they fix the PC version. I want a good experience on my computer. I am so excited for this game! I don't want to have to buy a console just to play it normally

Something Arekkz didn't mention is that they are also planning on giving the Sword and Shield a glow up. I believe they mentioned its changes alongside Insect Glaive, which were both mentioned after the changes planned for Swaxe and Lance.
IG MAINS WE ARE BACK! I enjoyed the ground combos and new combo fighting in the beta but I really wanted to be able to do aerial combos AND ground combos depending on the scenario. NOW WE CAN, IG was my first weapon in MHW and I loved its Aerial combat style. Its just so fun to play. Gonna love doing ground combos and aerial combos together
I really hope that they're changing the charge blade too, so you're able to normally SAED directly, but with the option to do an AED with a SAED follow-up.
@@Dod.O39 In MH4U you would normally do an SAED when your shield was charged, but you were able to cancel it to an AED if f.e. you were sure you won't hit the SEAD. Especially back then you had to charge your shield again after an SAED, so that option was great.
I actually prefer it the way it is now. Direct SAED spam was boring. They do however need to buff the damage and reach of the SAED to make it worth locking behind AED 1 and AED follow up.
@@mrsanguini5819 I personally like the option to SAED if you choose to and not have to do it after AED especially on a downed monster where Savage Axe might hit parts with bad hit zones or you might launch a teammate by accident from upswing cause everyone's trying to punish the down.
Glaive mains never left. The glaive without bounce was way stronger than MH:W glaive... The bounce is an IG casual staple, mains know the bounce is fun but ultimately useless.
@@skyblue2708 Nah, I'm an IG main since 4U and I'm also complaining about the removal of bounce. If you're a true IG main you'd actually know that bouncing is useful for taking down flying monsters and doing proper repositioning.

Happy for all the IG Helicopter players out there, but I worry that it wont address some of the bigger issues with the new gameplay loop for IG. I'd love to see a bigger overhaul that refocuses on maintaining buffs and hitting with fast combos, rather than a repetitive 'gather->spend' essence loop where you just try to spam the rising slash thing constantly. BUT this is a step in the right direction, and shows that they're open to making adjustments based on player feedback, and that is *awesome*
Totally agree. While I’m happy about the helicopter’s return, the IG being so slow compared to previous games was my major complaint along with the terrible controls. The attack loop with the new charged attack felt so boring to me.
the next change for the insect glaive is to PLEASE CHANGE THE BUTTON FOR THE AIR CHARGED ATTACK. needing to hold circle (or A) while in the air is just so clunky. Give us back R2 downward thrust which we had back in iceborne.
Glad to hear they're listening to feedback. As someone who's mained IG since World, (usually LS before), not having the bounce during the beta was just tragic. I still liked it, but it definitely felt like IG had lost a bit of its identity when you're forced to be more grounded instead of being able to play around the needs of the moment as much.
Still nothing about connectivity issues being fixed though. Has me worried as even though I was lan connected my friends and I were constantly disconnected from eachother.

Apparently they had improved Lance and one more weapon, but didn't show it because I believe Capcom suggested they didn't had time to show it of what I heard earlier today.
I'd love it if we could press the dodge button to vault up at anytime once any part of the aerial attack lands. too many times I've missed just the last swing.
I main the lance. And i love the new things added to the lance it feels alot more complete vs the older versions. But compaired to what all the other weapons got it felt a bit left behind. Lance being its main thing with blocking only being able to get 2 powerclashes in a hunt is insanely little. That is even for long hunts, and as it has to be similar to mounts. with a aerial weapon like the sns you can get atleast 4 to 5 mounts off. Which also lasts alot longer then clashes. So i hope they scale that up that good defenders can get more clashes on. I perfect guard about everything so only 2 clashes in a hunt felt very stale. Honestly i dont need that much more changes to the lance, that was my only gripe i had. But if they willing to add new combos and other things to it i am very happy to receive that just dont remove what we got it was very good, Tho high pokes can be a bit higher it was hard to hit aerial monsters

Tbh, anyone who played the old games knew how bad it was and how bad it felt when you accidentally forgor to bring one supply on a hunt. Even I felt that when going back to play MHGU, which, imo, is the best starting point for players looking to play old gen MH.
oh thank god theyre changing lance. Been a lance main since like 2005, mostly evade lancing but have been doing guard lancing since tri. The lance in the wilds beta just felt weird. Couldnt tell if it was just me having to throw away muscle memory but it felt like a big step back.

Good day to be an IG main. Between that and the Lance, I'm feeling optimistic.
Love the amount of stuff we are able to customize this game, really hope we can get different pigments too other than just the rainbow pigment.
IG for me is for a fun fight. I'm glad the bounce is back. Even though the damage is not there but the fun is there.
In reality damage is what matters in this game you don’t wanna be that guy taking 35 minutes to kill a monster.

im apprehensive about the IG bounce being back. are they just gonna slap it back in and call it a day, leaving grounded IG to be undeniably stronger and more versatile? or will there be some added flow/varied moves to aerial insect glaive now? after having so much fun with rise's IG...man, i've been burned and my trust is lost rn
