This should never have been dealt with in a Magistrates' Court
Huw Edwards should be rearrested pending further investigation into his activities or at least a private prosecution taken out against him.

I am surprised that people are shocked by the sentence. Lenient sentencing for this crime has been going on for eons. It is a reflection of how children are regarded in our society and how s*x offences are treated.

The biological father is not around. The step father and mother didn't even know thier almost 18 year old son was a drug addict and was gay and spent his evenings on chat lines with men.
That's how it goes, neglected kids are easy to groom.

The magistrate should have passed the case to the crown court. The magistrate should be investigated.

Well, say a person took top notch legal counsel where they are advised on how the sentencing guidelines proceed if one was to automatically plead guilty, plead mental degeneration and cry about mammy or daddy not been nice to them.
Say the judge just does a lazy job only using sentencing guidelines as if he were nothing more than a process specialist in an accident claims company.
One can only conclude from that example i have given, that the victims were never considered, let alone justice for the victims.
Getting back to Edwards, it looks as if the trial was only about him.

Prince Andrew has not been been found guilty of a crime so theoretically is innocent in law. There are other people such as Clinton , Bill Richardson, magician David Copperfield, and the list goes on yet remain well NS truly below the parapet .
The judge should have sent the case to crown court surely there are rules regarding what can be heard in a magistrates .. the judge was competely wrong to deal with a serious offence in his court .. the whole system needs a overall

If this story refers to that 17-yr-old, it seems to me that he was a pretty well-paid "victim". 😏 And who sold him the drugs? And is no-one teaching their teenagers personal responsibility?

A young guy on drugs, for who knows what reason. That makes him a vulnerable young man who was taken advantage of by a predator.
