- With Israel Israel declaring a 'new phase of war' as at least '14' more were killed in the second day of deadly explosions in Lebanon, James O'Brien hears from these callers.
0:51 James O'Brien questions caller Michael after he says the exploding pagers were 'probably the largest act of international terrorism that's ever existed', and a 'mass assassination attempt'.
4:40 - James hears from caller John, who says 'there's people in Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet who would like to see the cleansing of all the arab people from the river to the sea'.
13:02 - Caller David tells James: 'My cousin's son was murdered on October 7th... but I just can't justify the killing of children and innocents - whoever is doing it.'
This comes after Hezbollah vowed retaliation after pagers and hand-held walkie-talkies exploded leaving dozens dead and thousands injured.
Israel is being blamed for the fatal attack, with reports suggesting the devices belonged to members of Hezbollah were modified "at a production level".

It is strange when terrorist, indiscriminate violence towards civilians is described as a "surgical, targetted attack".
If it was indiscriminate it wouldn't have been rigged pagers, it would have been missiles dropped from the sky.

It's sad to read the comments of people who support Israel's actions. I know the first reaction to my comment by many of pro-Zionists will be the simple and absurd assumption that, because I don't support Israel it must necessarily mean that I support Hamas or Hezbollah. I don't. But you can't have a perspective or an opinion about this conflict without looking at the context and the events that have been taking place for the last 80 years. Things don't come out of the blue. But to look at the background and historical events represents, probably, a too hard intellectual effort for most supporters of Israel.
India faced 07 October like attack on 26-11-2008 during Mumbai Attack. So majority of Indians supports Israel.
People who support these evil and perfidious acts are no better than HMS and have no right to point the finger.

Its crazy seeing James actually talk sense for once in his life regarding Israel and using critical thinking skills.
Shelagh defends and praises this attack as great. This terrible woman has been defending the indefensible for the past 11 months. Even after it was confirmed that ISR has torture and grape camps where people are literally tortured and graped to death, ZIOS and ISR supporters continue to portray ISR as the victim who can never do anything wrong and always acts in self-defense, even when they strike first and attack and make babies, aid workers, nurses, doctors, and journalists unalive, among other things.
War is generally not considered "Legal", therefore all actions during war can be determined as "War Crimes" with a scale (from mild to extreme). The argument that Iran and the countries surrounding Israel want to remove Israel from the map is not really relevant, noting Iran, and these countries, do not have the capability. On the other hand, the argument that Israel wants to remove Palestinian identity/race/people is relevant, because they can and are doing that.
Israel clearly wants to escalate the war, and blowing up people in another country, with alot of collateral damage (i.e. civilians) TERRORIZES the general, wider, population, of said country. By any definition therefore, this is a terrorist Act.

While definitions vary, the focus on violence, fear, and political or ideological motives remains central.
It is disingenuous to just talk about Netanyahu just as it is disingenuous to start the clock on October the 7th. The other people around Netanyahu are even more extreme than him and then there are the polls conducted in Israel about where Israelis are morally.
Trying to pretend there is a grey area in what Isreal are doing is disingenuous at best.

No, but it does make the point that Israel has been making for years: Palestine terrorists are hiding amongst the public and/or are using that same public as human shields. The Palestines have always denied that, but this clearly shows that they were and still are lying, which doesn't come as much of a surprise. And by the way: how do you see a Palestinian terrorist entering Israel and blowing himself and Israeli citizens up? Is that not also indiscriminate bombing terrorism?
The simple truth in my opinion is that this war, because that's what it is, has being going on for só long and has seen só much destruction on both sides, that it's close to impossible to reach a compromise. And especially at this moment, I think it's fair to say that both sides are being ruled by the most radical leaders, who have no intent at all to reach a compromise.

This use of the words terrorist is absurd. This attack was targeted at Hezballah operatives who were in possession of pagers issued by them during ongoing hostilities, where Hezbollah are launching daily missile attacks and boarder incursions into isreal, that commenced long before October 7th. All military actions however targeted have the associated risk of killing innocents. This is a extremely sad fact but does in not mean its a terrorist attack. Ask yourself, what was the military objective, is attacking Hezbollah operatives during a war justifiable, was the attack proportionate to the threat and were the associated risks reasonable to the operational objectives. The only way you can call this a terrorist attack is if you suspend objectivity in favour of a political mantra.
The self professed most moral army in the world is killing civilians and doesn't care. You're left on TH-cam writing a small essay to justify it.
