Totally different culture…..don’t judge by western standards. Not the same . They do the best with what they have . No clean room/ lab standards with every tool and crane that means workers stay clean and actually lift nothing. It’s all relative to what they pay and get paid . It’s a different world .

i have watched 100`s of these diesel engine rebuilds and FINALLY someone paints one after finished. it just kept bugging me that after all the rebuild process, why no one was making the engine "look it" with a paint job. Thank You
Man I love these mechanic videos - But my heart just feels for these people. It can’t be healthy. No gloves, covered in oil. I do it myself a lot at work logging, but not quite like this. How do we build a new industrial world that is also green and clean - healthy for us all. I love your videos. My favorite part is when they throw the parts down onto the ground in the dirt. I think my actual favorite part is to see the family, multiple generations working and learning together. Keep making videos.
This is fun to watch. These guys do great with what they have. But hands down this is far from a level of expertise in a factory, or factory level machine shop. I’m not complaining….because there may be a day when these guys will be the only thing going, and heavy equipment operators will be glad to have it!
They seem like very primitive people but are very intelligent, I doubt either one of them ever went to a diesel technician trade school but they get the job done.

Also how many Kgs of dirt and sand will be attracted to the oils and moisture on that crank shaft before it's re-fitted? Use of "Clean room" techniques this isn't.
At 43:44 of the video, you can see that the cylinder head bolts were not replaced with new ones, but old ones were installed.. and most of the operations were skipped or performed poorly, since during a major overhaul of the internal combustion engine, the following should be replaced with new ones: cylinder head bolts, valve stem seals, cylinder head gaskets and cylinder head covers, spark plug ring seals, camshaft oil seals, timing belt or chain and everything connected with it, as prescribed in the instructions for most cars and tractors during such an operation with an internal combustion engine, but apparently the mechanics are either not aware, or decided to save money and they installed old bolts, even a layer of old oil and paint on the bolt head is partially visible.. With such a repair, the engine will not work for long after the overhaul, especially considering that in some cases the sealant was not applied at all and the gaskets were not installed according to size, but so that there was one and they themselves drilled a hole in it for the bolt.. In general, the repair is so-so, this trick is designed make money from those people who are naive, who are looking for ways to do it cheaper and don’t know anything about repairing equipment with internal combustion engines... Jepp, aber vorher war der Motor tot, danach läuft er wieder. Ok, er hat vielleicht n büsschen weniger Leistung durch schlechtere Kompression, braucht mehr Öl und Diesel, aber er läuft. Btw, das ist ein LowTech Diesel, bei dem keine Reinraumwartung nötig ist.
