Your energy and positivity is such an inspiration to me words cannot express how touched I am..I am a cancer survivor as well. I was diagnosed with Non-hodgkins lymphoma stage 4 this february and went through 6 stages of chemo along with transplant. I shaved my hair as well after my 1st chemo and it recently hit me and gave me so much stress even after having all the treatment coming to an end. But your smile and energy is so beautiful and strong I couldn’t help mysef but to me encouraged and touched. Thank you so much for being a light to cancer patients/survivors. God bless you!❤️
Emily we need more women like you, you're such an inspiration. I was diagnosed with lung cancer in October of 2016, I took Tarceva (oral chemo) but recently found out that I will need to start chemo soon. I'm dreading to cut my hair but I'm somehow encouraged because of your positive video. Much love. New subbie 💞
Oh this Canadian girl is so happy to have found you, I finished my chemo this past early August and now its just starting to grow back. But with our daughter's wedding in May 2019, I am in tears with what it will be like.
Hi Christina! I’m a new subbie! I was diagnosed with breast cancer on October and had a mastectomy in November. I’m scheduled to start chemo in less than two weeks! I just have to say that I am truly inspired and encouraged by your videos. I’ve been nervous about losing my hair but you have made me feel so much more at ease about it. I am looking forward to making an otherwise difficult process a fun one! BTW, you look so beautiful with or without hair! God bless you!!
Hi I’ve been watching you thank you ... for doing this I started chemo 7 days ago. My schedule is 6 months every 21 day ... I’m sad.. and scared... but I appreciate what you’ve done.
I just cut mine real short, like number 3 razor. I start azathoprine next month for severe Crohn’s disease after Methotrexate shot became too liver toxic. I started loosing my hair to alopecia the year prior and the scalp was starting to recover but when I started MTX shots like 2nd week in, it all came out. Literally like my whole body except for arms. So surreal. Even started loosing some eye lashes and brows. Though they did not all fall out. Took another year before my hair started to grow back. I know it is definitely gonna happen with the aza. I have already been having issues with the alopecia acting up some over the last two months. I know the liver issues did not help. Yes it is liberating and I am just thinking, no more shaving legs this summer for me, ha ha ha ha. I figure it will take a longtime for my hair follicles to recover like they did with the MTX. Anyways, I already have my wig, hats etc from last time. But I am investing in some beanies from amazon, they are softer and I like wearing the beanies best. I also like them as sleep caps at night.. I have coconut oil already so thanks for the hint about using it on the head. I am already really pale and never used self tanning before. So will definitely look for some next week. I see my specialist in a week and am sure we will start the aza shortly there after.
Thank you so much for providing this information! I am going to begin chemo in January, and you have helped me so much! I love your faux hawk! So cute. :) I hope mine grows back that thick after chemo.
Hi there I am a new subbie. First of all you are absolutely gorgeous!!! What an inspiration you are. 😊 I was searching wigs on here and found you. I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. My chemo meds from the myeloma treatment does not make me lose any hair however I will be having a stem cell transplant so I will most definitely lose my hair. So I'm doing my research now! Your channel is a godsend!! 🙌🏼 Thank you Misty ❤
thank you for sharing your experiences :) Breast cancer for me too. I had a right mastectomy. I am starting on my 16 chemo rounds this Friday. Then I get to do 32 rounds of Radiation.
Emily, I am so sorry to hear what you're going through. I had a double mastectomy in December, but because of my lymph nodes being clear, I didn't have to endure radiation. Are you just starting chemo?
Yeah. My first chemo is friday :( Today I am going to the chemo education appointment. Tomorrow is the port. My cancer tumor was 6.5cm. That's why I have to get the radiation. They said as of right now after surgery and before chemo, I have a 40% chance of it coming back, which is pretty scary. lol
Emily Hodges cancer is scary! I was never told the percentage of chance of it returning. I don't know that I would want that information.. but I'm sure you will be diligent with all your check ups after hearing that! If you have questions about ANYTHING, feel free to reply on here and I will see if I can help!
Lara Gravenor hello! I had my husband shave it with a razor because I couldn’t handle the stubble either. Drove me crazy! My hair has grown out just fine and is super long now. I use organic virgin coconut oil (yes the cooking kind!) and organic castor oil to this day. When you are all done with chemo, take a teaspoon of the coconut oil and warm it up, add a couple of drops of the castor oil and rub it on your head to help hair growth. The castor oil works for eyelashes too! Just a tad right along the lash line before you go to bed.
I'm trying to figure out if I should shave my head. Blackberry festival tells me you must live by me.💕 I'm on the pill radiation portion of treatment and I still have hair, but it's super thin and annoying. When it starts to grow back is it better to be bald or will the new hair match what's left? I imagine myself with curly and the straight hair that's left when it starts to grow back, looking all wonky... 😆
I heard after your head is shaved you and have to keep it up because the nubbies are hard to sleep on because they prick you as they grow in. Laying down is uncomfortable. How often to you shave you head and what problems do you have?
My hair loss looks like Bozo the Clown= I've got about a year's worth of chemo to go and not sure about shaving = I Don't want Prickly hair growth.....
Feed better Tanya God bless
