    Hi,
I just got diagnosed with breast cancer. We are in early days, and I have not had my surgery yet. I am just feeling out what might be helpful. I am glad to see someone working and going through their process with their cancer. It's making me feel a lot better. Thank you.

Hello Christina, you look great. I really enjoyed this video. I will be starting my first chemotherapy treatment this week and was frankly lost about wings and hats. This is very helpful! Thank you! I am just about half way through 6 mos of chemo and I have been struggling to find what to wear on my head. I have a really nice wig that looks real...but in my mind it's still not my hair, so I really like . your idea of wearing a wig with a hat. I think that will help me feel more like myself. I may need to order a couple of those beanies. Thank you for sharing your positive vibes--you are adorable!

I really appreciate this video! I am in full remission of TNBC and CREST both, to wean me off from chemo and clean up any left over micro-cells, they are putting me on Tamoxifen and said I may lose all of my hair.. I will only be on a few short doses maybe 3 or 4 at most.. but I am staying ahead and looking for wig options and comfy hats.. my hair is super thick and hangs down to mis bum presently.. cried a few tears over losing it, but it will regrow super fast.. my hair grows fast anyway and it's a small price to pay to gain a full long life ahead!!! So excited... your video was so informative.. awesome work sharing!!!! Prayers to you for continued healing...

I have had hair that I could sit on since I was a little girl and losing my hair was a big deal for me so when I came across your video it made me feel so much better. I just finished my second round of chemo/antibodies and have a year to a year and a half of treatments ahead of me so I will be without my hair for a very long time. It gets to -40 below here so wigs and hats are going to be a must.Thank you so much for sharing this video!

Hope you’re okay, I’m recovering from lymphoma, so I sort of know how you feel. I love wearing silk scarves because they feel soft on my head. You can buy them off amazon. I also used beanie hats a lot. I do have a wig but I only really wore it for parties or to eat out. At first I was desperate to cover up my head, I felt embarrassed. But towards the end I went out without anything on my head. People stared but I didn’t care. You will figure out what’s comfortable for you, all my friends on my ward prefer different things. Best of luck with everything.

LilMissPriss hello! I’m so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I know it is hard and scary and the unknown is terrifying. There is one thing I can say about losing my hair... I wasn’t going to let me down! Positive self talk helped wonders! I made it a fun thing when I had to shave my head and let the kids take a crack at the shaver. My hubby shaved the top and let the sides long to look like a bald mullet and we laughed and laughed over it. Hair is just hair! And once it’s gone, you won’t even miss it. You will love how easy it is lol! As far as being sick... it sucks. But YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS! Getting stressed or down will only weaken your immune system. I promise you that thinking positively is the absolute best medicine you can get. Stay strong and keep your chin high! Soon this will be behind you.

Nikie Yapa I think it all depends on the individual and what type of chemo you are getting. The chemo I received was the same a friend had.. she felt great through it all and never missed a day of work. I felt horrible! I had chemo every three weeks and would miss 4 days of work out of those 3 weeks. Her and I also had different jobs so that makes a difference. I work with my hands and wear a mask where she did not. I hope you are doing well!!!

You look fabulous! I also loved the short wig with the hat and I agree with your friends, no one would know you were wearing a wig.
I don't know if you have seen this video done by Patti. She shows how to reduce wig shine by washing with shampoo and baking soda. Maybe it will help. Here is a link to her video.
