Hey, thank you for sharing your journey! Hair loss is incredibly distressing. Did your parting get wider and was your scalp visible from the crown area at all during the peak of your TE?
Hello! You’re welcome :) yes it was noticeable. However when I told my coworkers about what I was going through they didn’t even notice until it was drawn attention too (unless they were just being nice!), so I think sometimes we see changes a lot more because they are things we look at every day!
@@Betweenengland That's true, it definitely is hard to deal with when you notice a big change. Thank you for sharing and giving me hope for recovery! I am noticing the same issues and my hair loss matches a triggering event. Hopefully things fix itself soon.
@@karinachopra1 I agree! It’s very hard to cope with! It started falling out around January 2019, it stopped falling out in May 2019 and in all honesty the scalp visibility was ‘gone’ by end of June 2020. I first noticed real regrowth at the start of June and by the end of the month it had ‘filled in’ so no longer looked white. After that it just grew back a bit like a mullet for a while! It’s now Feb 2022 and I’m pretty sure my hair is all back to the same length again and I think it’s the same as how it was before it started falling out :)
@@karinachopra1 I lost 80.percent.of my hair ten years ago possibly more I had to wear a wig , it took about 6 months for my hair to completly go back to normal I did have to chop my long hair into a Bob tho 🤢 I hated it, everyone is different but I already had 4 inches of regrowth after a month , I'm one of the lucky ones that can grow there hair from there shoulders to there waist in a year but I find hair grows back a little thicker and I'm on a TE support group and multi people agree
Honestly I can not remember what brands I used as I literally just picked anything off the shelf...I think they are all fairly similar though. I bought some in the UK and the USA, so they were completely different. Sorry I can't be of any help there!@@Ffd-i8j
My age 18 +....after covid I am suffering from Telogen effluvium ... I lost my 50% hair with in a month ...my 1st dermatologist prescribed me minoxidil ... after 1week my hair fall control me chala aya...but last month hair fall increased heavily .... I am scared from touching my hair ... Weekly one time I comb my hair and apply shampoo ... May PRP karana chatihu .... Lekin 1 time PRP karne ki bad ...mujhe yearly bar bar prp karna nahi hoga to ?
I tried a lot of hair oils what worked for me was sesame oil,Fenugreek oil and black seeds oils. Also I started taking multivitamin daily and vit d weekly. I also dry massage my hair without any oil whenever I got time. My hair's are returning to normal condition. There are many new baby hairs on my forehead which were not there earlier . I hope it works for u also. I can understand how painful it is when ur hairs fall like crazy and we get scared to touch them.
When was your hair thickness the least? Also did your scalp show any bald spots? I am in my 5th month of shedding and my ponytail thickness is extremely low but my scalp doesn't show yet I am very scared how can I stay positive?
Hello! For me it was around month 5 when it was the worse, as it stopped in month 6. Yes, when I had a ponytail the top of my head looked thin with white scalp. If it’s something you was really was worried about, you can buy hair fibres which is like coloured powder you sprinkle on top of your head. From a distance it looks fine but close up you can kind of see it 🙈 It depends on how badly you wanted to hide it!
Hello! Hmm I had a weird patch on the back of my head where the skin was really gross...a bit like what babies get. When I tried to get the dried skin away, it did make some of the baby hairs come out in that particular area which is where I used the steroid. But for the most part, once everywhere else started growing back, it didn't fall out again. TE is a cycle so once a hair falls out, when it regrows it won't necessarily fall out keep falling out again.
They do. In telogen effluvium hairs tend to move into the telogen phase prematurely. So, yes it could be TE but you have to go to a dermatologist to confirm it.
How did I see it? Honestly it was the part right at the front, I could see like 1cm of hair that had grown and then once I saw that I started noticing it growing in other areas on my head :)
@@Betweenengland new hair growth occurs immediately after massive shedding ..or it will take time.i had 4 months massive shedding ...and now only 4 Or 5 strands coming out.but I don't see any regrowth

What is the name of the brand of Biotin you were taking?
And what is the name of the brand of Hair, skin and nails vitamins you took?
Hello! There wasn’t really a specific brand, I used several different ones over the year, they were just the ones I found on the shelf :)

Mam how to tell that hair regrowth has started?
Hello. You can see it. Mine thinned out at the front so when I looked in the mirror one day I could see tiny little dark hairs growing in that area :)
how long did you actively shed for?
About 5 months
@@Betweenengland did the regrowth only start once the shedding stopped?
@@missbooey8pretty much, yes. I had the odd little hair grow but once it stopped shedding it then all grew back at once.
I think you need a buzz cut and stronger diet with coconut oil therapy once a week
Did it affect hairline?
When it happened yes, but it grew back normal as far as I can tell :)
