    probably most useful tutorial series for me. Even if i will probably not go along with it due to my schoolwork. This is one of the best executions of a tutorial that i have seen
    GC cube and other ones do a great job, but that is on a small scale, on more procedual, abstract design
    However, on long tutorials its really hard to teach as good as this guy does. Huge respect

    • @blueinversion

      Yeah that happens a lot. Depends on the local normal of the face at that point. One workaround I use is that just extruded and press RMB to let it go, followed by G to manually move it around whatever way you want, you can use X,Y,Z then to lock movement to respective local or global axis.

    Love your tutorials, really appreciate what you have done for us all, takes an age to follow when you're just starting out, but I'm getting there.
    1 question though, why when I create an array around a circle, very similar to what you done with the tread of the tyre, does the array expand (gets wider) toward the end of the circle? Hope that makes sense and you'd be able to help?

    • @blueinversion
      @blueinversion  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thank you for your words of appreciation. Means a lot. About the array, that behaviour isn't correct. This happens when you have not applied the transformations (scale, rotation, etc) or the origins are not aligned. Arrays can be confusing, make sure you follow each step exactly to get the correct result.

    HI, thanks for this great tutorial it's been helping me very well. My problem is, I made a new collection for the wheels and there already was a body collection. So when I add a circle under the wheel collection it just never adds under, it always adds in the body collection, even if I hide the body collection. I also have made a video of this problem and would've shared it to your email but I do not see any. Can you advise me of how I can be able to solve this problem and move on?

    • @blueinversion
      @blueinversion  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to select the correct collection in the outliner window. Then it should work fine. Looks like the body collection is the selected collection right now. You can contact me here - www.blueinversion.com/contact

    Awesomentastic tutorial video thanks a lot, but when I apply the subdivision modifier my car gets crooked, can you please tell me what to do?

    • @blueinversion
      @blueinversion  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That might be because of the order of modifiers. Is the subdivison modifier at the end of the stack?

    • @Octavio_Jorge
      @Octavio_Jorge 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Precisely that, At every vertex in the middle of the car, thanks for the attention sr

    • @blueinversion
      @blueinversion  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, so if you apply modifiers you have to apply them in order i.e. from top to bottom. Since the earlier modifiers were applied first, the subdivision modifier cannot be applied independently. So to get perfect results, you will have to apply from top to bottom in order. Hope that helps :)

    19:12 I Shift D to duplicate which works, then Ctrl M to mirror but it just makes a mess with some handles appearing to be turned in a loop, pressing X I am unable o move the handles. I end up having to move them individually and rotating them to the correct position. After going back to object mode and adding the Curve modifier and selecting the Loop with the eye dropper my tire tread object moves back along the X axis and only one half is affected by the loop. If I move the tire tread object back to where it should be it just stretches and twists in on itself. ???

    • @blueinversion
      @blueinversion  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay, we can work on that one at a time. First, try redoing that part by following the video closely. Let me know if you are still facing these issues.

    • @janrdoh
      @janrdoh 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blueinversion I had an issue right at the start where you create a plane, delete the three vertices, duplicate, place the duplicated vertices the extrude and scale along the Z axis. Yours they extrude away from each other but mine would only extrude along the X axis and in the same direction.
      Anyway I built my tread pattern another way and it looks good and proceeded with the curve and it worked out very nicely, the only thing remaining is to find out if it will work out when I do the array which you warned might not work if not done as you directed, I don't have time to get that far since it is already late.
      The problem with the first time I did it was the view I was working from, I was in world view which I guess meant axis was wrong, maybe?

      Hi Fred, I understand your point of view. It indeed is a bit dense. If you are having too much trouble you can watch Blender Guru's Donut Series first, or the Official Blender Fundamentals Video and then comeback to this. But I can promise if you can get through this series and make a car no matter whether it is perfect, you will get a level up in your Blender skills. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for stopping by! :D

    Help mate! For the tire texture when I use loft after selecting the lines, nothing's happening. Is it because of origin points of the lines? At 15:32

    Great set of tutorials! Not at the Beginner level yet. Looking to learn how to make existing and original rims and tires at moment. Complete autos later on once I can get a grip on the software. Couple of questions regarding video 2. A lot of rims and tires are one directional. After the initial design is done for the drivers side rims/tires, how do you easily/quickly make the passenger side set which is a mirror image of the drivers side set? My other question is in regards to proper scaling. Once I have the 1/1 measurements accurate, how can I reduce the scale to 1/25 (or other) for replication in a car model? Parts would be 3D Printed/resin cast.

    • @blueinversion
      @blueinversion  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For your first question, you can apply all modifiers on the wheel and combine it into one object. Then use a mirror modifier to make the other side wheel. For your second question, parent all the objects making the car to an empty object. Now scale that empty the way you like. Just select the empty, press S and then type 1/25 and press enter.

    Can anyone help? My tire isnt perfectly in a circle after using the array modifier , its a bit up and down and its not connecting with weld modifier also . I checked the circle and bezier curve both have 200 res , the initial part of tire while making it also looks straight from orthographic view , so i dont think thats the problem. I used array modifier in fixed count and fit curve also in fit type , both same results - Not a perfect citcle , a bit up and down from the ends ending in 53 counts
