Brigid has a presence in my home, so I'm celebrating Imbolc in her honor. I've embroidered some Brigid crosses in preparation. I plan to get out to a park to enjoy some nature if the weather isn't too bad, I'm going to make some spell terrariums, plant some seeds, and burn a log in our outdoor fire pit
I come from a line of witches on my mother's side, so I've always grown up with a lot of prior knowledge that I wasn't aware was part of Wicca and witchcraft until I was about 11 or 12. I spent the last 4 years or so researching witchcraft and asking my family questions and reading and learning. Now I'm almost 16 (5 more days), I'm going through my spiritual awakening, and this is my first official year of celebrating holidays and putting what I know to use. Mainly herbs and crystals for protection and self love right now, of course. And you, my ever so chaotic aunt, have been such a big help through the last 7 or 8 months, which is GREAT because I was slightly lost I won't lie 😅
I took a very unintentional, unscheduled break from my craft starting around the beginning of this year and I'm trying to get back into it. I didn't know much about imbolc until today. The coincidence that I want to get back into my practice just a week before imbolc, a holiday about recommitting yourself to the craft (and much more of course), blows my mind. 😂 The synchronicities of magick. ✨💜
Honestly so hyped for this series, esp cause ive also never vibed too much w/ the Wiccan Wheel of the Year and decided this year to spend those days doing research on them more so than celebrating so to create my own wheel :) :) excited, excited!
Imbolc is very important to me, as I am of Irish descent and I also worship Brigid and Airmid. This was my first year knowingly celebrating Imbolc and it was so peaceful and happy.
YES! Establishing your own important holidays to follow is so important! You can't celebrate things you don't naturally resonate with. A huge reclamation of my spirituality has been celebrating Jewish holidays (Passover, Rosh Hashanah, Purim, and Hanukkah being particularly important in my household). It's amazing what a weight gets lifted from the soul when you start celebrating holidays that really connect with you!
As a follower of Irish Paganism, Imbolc is one of my favorite holidays. Our family had our Imbolc dinner last night (lamb, salmon, and colcannon). I'm having my ritual on February 3rd this year, as that is the exact astrological midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. Bealtaine/Beltane is pronounced "BYEL-tan-uh" or "bel-TAWN-uh" (90% of people on TH-cam pronounce it incorrectly lol). It is the Irish word for the month of May. :-)
i LOVE imbolc! one of my favorite sabbats. where i am, February can be really gray and freezing so this holiday just gives me a moment to reset and feel the joy of knowing that spring is coming :D
THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT CELEBRATING OFF MAP IF TRADITIONAL WHEEL OF THE YR!!! sometimes I'll wake up and be like 'something important today' but nothing from the pagan WOTY and it'll be like a full or blue moon! Astrology has been calling me like leave me a message BEEP lol I wanted to share that I found a term over Witch that I feel at home with- 'Witchual' ! I'm a Witchual! An individual who honors and practices forms of witchery
This is my first year celebrating all the holidays as properly as I can, and I'm very excited about it. I'm going to celebrate them all and see what resonates and what doesn't, ready for next year.
Omg just in time I plan on celebrating the sabbaths this year but didn’t have too much information on it, gonna see the book you recommended thank you!
i love imbolc. its like a little hint of spring returning! i find it a good time to break old habits, and align with my bad, funky self :) ur so cool i instantly subscribed!
Thank you so much for this video! I don't celebrate all the holidays either, but I do love learning about their histories! Can't wait for the rest of your series!
Perfect timing this is my first year looking into the wheel of the year and I got this book for learning it’s a great book thank you for sharing I’ve taken lots of notes xx
I just smiled and giggled when you said that you have celiac disease. I have non celiac gluten intolerance that developed last year (2020) as well as Ehlers Danlos syndrome, and it’s so inspiring to see and listen to another chronically ill person who doesn’t fixate on their illnesses
I think going forward my wheel of the year is going to meld some pagan holidays with catholic holidays. I never vibed with easter, but finding my own way to celebrate the equinox might be exactly what I need. And as a kid I always didn't like how the summer didn't really have any good holidays, so I will probably focus more of my energy on litha and lughnasadh
that little part where you mention not celebrating lughnasadh because of celiac made me feel so seen because that’s my same reason like anytime i see bread mentioned with the sabbats i’m like “looks like i’ll have to sit that part out”
Omg I love every single one of your videos. The one thing that intrigued me the most is folk cathloicism. Do you have any reccomendations where to get more info about it? Also it would be lovely to wach a video about it from you. Like your practice, information gathering and work with saitns and all that.
Thanks for the video and saying about your own person Wheel of the Year, and you are right about the book Year of the Witch, it is so good. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for learning about other festivals that aren't on the days of the Equinoxes or Solstices, especially with the encouragement to make our own Wheel of the Year.
Living in Ireland, I grew up with so many witchy traditions, from sabbats to folklore, that I wasn't even aware were witch related. I made so many Brighid's crosses in school as a child, I think my fingers still have muscle memory 🤔😂
Also some of the month names in the Irish language are also the name of sabbats; May is Bealtane (bee-al-tan-ah), August is Lughnasadh and November is Samhain, which is very interesting to me! 🥰
Love love this vid! Also excited for the 10 best books vid you mentioned, I’d also be interested in a books you shouldn’t or maybe beginners shouldn’t read vid? Idk I just feel like there are a bunch of “everyone’s read this” books that aren’t... great lmao and I’d be interested in hearing your takes if that’s something you’re interested in :)
I’m trying to celebrate all sabbats this year 😪 note I say trying...I’m starting a new job on 1st feb 😅 I’m waiting for an imbolc box 🤦🏻♀️ pandemic postal delays in UK 😪
Hi lovely !I'm a big fan of you and I would really like some advice on deity work (apollo and lucifer).I have just started working with apollo (2 weeks ) and Lucifer (4 months ago).
Frankie has videos on their channel, one long one with Warrior Witch Nike and one shorter one, so looking at those could be helpful (Warrior Witch Nike also has a great video on her channel). Good luck!
Hey! You mentioned Christmas as a very important holiday for you, because its important for your ancestors. I wander how do you feel about Easter, because for my Italian ancestors is also very important :)
Yes thank you! Mabon is a welsh god not the autumn equinox. I think more people need to know about this because the man who named the holiday only did for aesthetic purposes.
Maybe in a past life you where a witch also. If you believe in the past lives theory interpretation it basically means that we've all lived and died many times before. And I've heard that past life magic users tend to be drawn to magic in their current lives. Although I don't know if you would remember it consciously tho
Fun fact -- when I was a kid, around three, I talked about one of my past lives. Before I even became a witch, my mom suspected I was one in a past life. We were driving past a church or building in Maryland/Delaware and I told her that that was where I lived before the fire, and said something about my hands being tied. I actually did a video with my mom earlier on my channel where I talked about it!!!
Imbolc is one of the most important holidays for me. For me to resonate with any holiday is to feel it in body and soul. And well, I live in Siberia and work outside all year round (caretaker of a private kennel ). For six years now, I've been absorbing seasonal changes with my whole body. And when I have to freezing my ass for almost 5 months in 30-40 degrees of frost (yes, in Siberia, winter lasts longer than 3 months), the onset of spring seems to me to be divine grace 🖤 Thank you very much for your videos! I don't know English well and I have to watch them with English subtitles in order to sometimes be able to translate something through a translator, but for me this is not a hindrance ❤️
I don't study the Fae very much actually, if you're referring to the Sidhe! I would recommend the book the Fairy Faith in Celtic Countries for more information on them!
I'm not sure if anyone will answer this but I was wondering how to start a coven. I and a couple other witches want to start one but we don't know-how.
I was cleansing my room for the first time today and I had my bedroom door shut and my window open because my dad isn’t comfortable with witchcraft and I didn’t want to step on his boundaries by doing the rest of the house. As soon as I started my bedroom door opened and as I kept going, it opened two more times. What does that mean? Should I have just left it open?
HI! I'm so glad I found your channel! I watch your TikTok and absolutely love them! I am thinking of becoming a witch but my mom is religious. Is there any way I could be a closeted witch? And I am quite young, but people I know consider me as an old soul as I'm quite "wise" for my age. Thank you for inspiring me!
You can definitely be a closeted witch! It's important to note that if you practicing witchcraft harms or puts you in any danger in your household, you can hold off! You have your whole life to learn! I'm going to be making some closeted/budget witch tip videos soon.
It’s an ancient Roman festival in celebration of fertility lead by the high priestess Caligula in its first iteration. It is named after the cave that Romulous and Remus were nursed by the she wolf the Lupercal or cave of wolf. Priests of Venus genetrix or the mother of Rome in her epithet, would go around whipping women with the skins of wolves to give them fertility for the following year.
Hii this may be off topic but I thought someone could have info about this: Is locking doors a thing for spirits/entities/etc... ? Bc like... I was locked in my own room from the inside and I am reaally sure I didn't turned the key. And I had some weird feeling + dreams last night idk. Is locking doors a thing related to any witchery stuff?? Or am I just going crazy
All witches. The Wheel of the Year that I source as "traditional" was created by Aidan Kelly (the term was coined by him) so I usually refer to it as Wiccan! I think Imbolc is August 1st in the Southern Hemisphere. That might be why you had that written down.
Oh good! I was really confused for a second. :)
The "hi witchlings" never fails to make my day
Video idea possibly. Every single book you’ve ever read💕
That is SO MANY books
The part where you kept dropping things and said “CHAOS” in a booming voice is SENDING ME 😂😂😂😂😂

I'm excited! My birthday is over Imbolc and I'm gonna set up a cute lil brigid's bed and all that fun stuff. Maybe try my hand at making a doll.
Loved this, i've felt a bit guilty for not celebrating certain sabbats but now i feel better abt it 😅 and very excited for next weeks video ❤
i just bought a box for ostara! it’s one of my fave holidays :)
I’m actually looking forward to Imbolc because last year I started my practice a little before then.

My birthday is on Imbolc I just realized this
Would you ever do a video on ancestor worship?
Just always have a plan for your path and what reasons you want to have it.
Archangel Michael
I think the reason you had Imbolc as August 1 is probably because in the Southern Hemisphere it’s celebrated August 1
I'm waiting for ostara wideo 🙏🏻

Hey! You mentioned Christmas as a very important holiday for you, because its important for your ancestors. I wander how do you feel about Easter, because for my Italian ancestors is also very important :)
I actually celebrate more Easter things on the Vernal Equinox, only because growing up we didn't have a lot of stuff around Easter!
I'm sorry for the confusion around my name. Yes, Factio Magicis has been renamed the Green Fern Coven!! ♡
Never been this early before!
The info I found said Imbolc is Feb 1st and 2nd so that's how I marked it. I will likely only do something one of those two days.
Yes thank you! Mabon is a welsh god not the autumn equinox. I think more people need to know about this because the man who named the holiday only did for aesthetic purposes.

when is Imbolc? you might ask, well, lucky you, im here! Imbolc will be on Feb.1-Feb.2

Your 17 year old self writing Imbolc in August wasn't wrong. If she was in the southern hemisphere
Is this only for wiccans or all witches?
I don’t think she’s Wiccan
