Dr Berg - you don't make a clear distinction between 'Red Palm oil' and 'Palm oil' ... nor whether the oil is derived from the kernel or the fruit. It is very important that consumers should be aware of the differences. 'Palm' oil is highly refined, fractionated, bleached, and used in many processed foods. 'Red palm' oil, on the other hand, is minimally refined, pressed and cold-filtered, preserving its red color and nutritional content. Also it is essential to note that oil from the fruit is very different to oil from the kernel. The 'fruit' oil is, nutritionally, by far the best. By not clarifying these majorly significant differences, those following your tips might find themselves reading labels and unwittingly buying the highly refined, poorly nutritionally constituted, versions. So, to optimize health, buy only; "red palm fruit oil".

@@cathyfox-pardo3194 It is far better to use this oil unheated. In any event, heating any oil allows it to use its nutritional value. Palm oil is similar to Coconut oil, and I would give the same advice for Coconut oil. However, also note that any oil oxidizes on contact with the air, so smaller containers would be better advised than containers in which the oil might stand for an extended period. I can't recommend any particular brand.

They came to West Africa preaching everywhere how red palm oil is so dangerous for the health, that Africans must stop eating red palm oil. Immediately after that sermon, there was serious shortage of red palm oil because almost all of it was exported to the Western world. Any West African who can remember that period can confirm this. Of course many people in West Africa never stopped since it was/is still a cheaper alternative.

@@honeybunch0128, I think this mostly refers to renewable diesel. Not biodiesel, but renewable diesel. A lot of oil refiners are converting a portion of their equipment to process crop oils, used cooking oils, and animal tallows as feedstock to produce diesel fuel. Benefit is it has cleaner emissions compared to fossil fuel diesel.

I am watching from Nigeria and am happy that Dr Berg has done this video.
Red palm oil is abundant in the Southern part on Nigeria and is regularly used in cooking almost our meals, especially our soups.
Am glad that red palm oil is being recognized for all the wonderful nutrients God has packed in it.
It's most unfortunate that in the past, some "researches" were touted to discourage the use of red Palmoil. Rather we were encouraged to use laboratory oils like cotton seed oil, soya oil, canola oil etc. It's most unfortunate that we were being led to believe that the thing God put there for our Good was bad. May be economocs was at the root of that.

It seems to be a consistent pattern among scientists who seek to demonize fat or protein to use some component of fat or protein - in this case just the fat component palmitic acid, or in the China Study with just the protein component casein - in ISOLATION in order to "prove" that fat or protein is harmful. If a study does not mimic the totality of the food in question, and how it is commonly eaten, simply isolating a particular substance in that food, and then giving animals a massively high dose of that substance in relation to their body weight to induce an ailment, does not prove that meat or certain types of oil are bad. In no other area would simply looking at something in isolation, without examining it within context, be considered fair or honest. These scientists are basically making bogus claims, and they should be ostracized by the scientific community for misleading the public.

Funny how perhaps it was like 5 yrs that i used coconut oil in my cooking but ive always accepted the fact that when i dont get enuf sleep i end up not remembering a lot of things or i get lost to what i was gonna say. I knew cells in my brains are destroyed due to lack of sleep. But since ive used palm oil my brain functions is so much better than when i have a full 8 hrs of sleep. Ive not had a full 8 hrs of sleep for the past 2 decades and im serious!! Maybe one time only did i have that. So you can imagine lower than 5 and you keep forgetting things and how would that be when sometimes I'm forced once in 3 months to go dash out without a wink, you bet you don't even know who you are. However, I could attest palm oil works wonders because i didnt sleep a wink the night before due to a disturbance in my room but the next day i could rmemeber everything i wanted to say in that fast paced transaction like wow till i had to go back to sleep: there were no pauses while speaking of what i was going to say, not forgetting things every 3 hours or so. What happened!! During this pandemic coconut oil has been too pricey and Ive tried Palm oil which is not yet popular in the public market and glad i did try!! After i researched about it, decided to try it, and found amazing benefits!! Im never going to buy another brand of oit!! Try it!!

Do people know how damn long time it takes before palm oil tree start producing fruits that can be harvested? At least 5 years! The tree only need "special" care during this growing period. Most of family owned plantation wil use organic pesticides to help the trees grow healthier. Once it start producing fruits, all it need just occasional trimming of the old leaves and harvest the ripe fruits 1-2 times a month. The soil and irrigation system are the most important aspect to ensure it live healthy life and maintain fruits production for good 20 to 30 years. There is no such thing as pesticides garbage westerners talking about needed for the tree to continue producing fruits.

I've never been able to put my finger on it but I've been taking it for decades and every time I dismiss it as being useful, because it's messy (relying on just supplement E and food) my health turns worse or off peak, just not right away.
