Can you address a question for me.....How left handed friendly is this gun? I am a lefty and want one of these but, if it isn't feasible for a lefty then, I must do without. Thanx, before hand.
I have been shooting the heck out of the extar ep9 and I am going to make one recommendation. I put a kaw valley slim compensator on the gun and I have enjoyed it even more if that is possible. For the $ it is pretty much a homerun.
Customer service is worthless at Extar. They won't honor the warranty. About 500 rounds through the gun and the firing pin binds in the bolt causing light strikes. It's useless now because I used reman ammo. Like anyone can afford new ammo for the range

What magazines have you ran through it, besides OEM Glock? Have ran any ETS or KCI or STM through it? How did they cycle? I just ordered one and trying to see if I get utilize some of the budget magazines for plinking. Yes, if I needed to put my life on the line I will utilize real magazines. lol

He asked about sights so in that I would take that as backup irons.. I don’t own this gun so I can’t say for sure.. but the raised rail platform of this gun is very similar to an ak. A standard AR sight wouldn’t work well as it’s too tall. I would look to rail mounted AK irons myself as they should be about right.

Everything was working fine until I opened it, removed the bolt to see through the barrel to zero my red dot, closed it without the bolt and when tried to open again, it just wouldn't. I tried to disengage it several times to no avail. Called Extar and they said to use a rod and push back the buffer to disengage it. Tried that and still can't remove the upper from the lower. Really frustrated by now. Any ideas from any of you that have found themselves in the same situation? Greatly appreciate any feedback that can help me resolve this problem.

What foregrip is that? Miy extar is coming in this week. I already bought a bushnell red dot off amazon and wanting to build this rifle complete package for under 500 OTD. I can’t spend more than 25 bucks to hit my goal.
I don't like how you cant put in a full mag with the bolt forward then rack it. I have to put in all mags with the bolt back which doesnt seem ideal for a "ready" state.
Riley R yeah i tried both the Glock 33rd mag and the mag it came with and both do it. According to the manual that's normal... Try and let me know what happens...

Personally - I dont have the $$$ or time to waste on a "kiddie" toy - I want a REAL WEAPON!! SO - I nixed the EXTAR for ... a REAL WEAPON! I went with a FM 9! INCREDIBLE WEAPONS!!

Can the front fore end be changed out for a K-Mod grip?
Go to www.protoshandguard.com. They make a nice fore end for the Extar. I have it mine.

Ran 50 rounds of 147 grain Prvi Patizan Jackected Hollow Points through no problem at all.
I have heard it doesn't have a heat shield on the front. Does it get to hot to handle after just some casual plinking?
I have never experienced any excessive heat in the front even after mag dumps

I've only used sgm tactical and oem Glock magazines.

Yep, all 9 mm Glock magazines. I don't see why the drum mag would not work, good idea!
