@@blkjohnnybravo3506 you mean the Battle Square in the Gold Saucer? That would be awesome. Especially if you could participate in both the world of the living and the other world (Pikkon and the other fighters come to mind, and Pikkon was found in the game's files by data miners).
@@spyroschristoulakis6296 yes that's it!!! I used to love the challenge of battle square especially once u lvl up ur characters and upgrade the spells and weapons. Something like that would be awesome end game content for kakarot. Or like a 100 man battle where u fight thru 100 npc and as u get further the npc gets stronger-smarter like that mode in bt3.
I just finished the game with ~ 50 hours played. Honestly, I loved it! I don't really care much about online play when it comes to Dragon Ball games, I just wish there was more to do after you complete the story. I'd love if they made a game with the same combat mechanics/visuals but that would go over all the Dragon Ball sagas, all the way from Emperor Pilaf saga to the Tournament of Power, that'd be amazing!
That sounds great on paper, but I can almost guarantee that it would get tedious the farther you get. Also, a DBS game would be difficult to make due to the major fights taking place on one planet or location, rather than the constant adventure/location hopping in DBZ/DB (although, the most recent chapters of the DBS manga have been having the characters move around a lot, so there's that).
@leo mendoza Wasn't lackluster for me kakarot is exactly what I thought it would be a DBZ rpg going through the sagas up to buu. Sorry this one didn't do it for you but maybe the next one will, but as for myself i'm having a ball with it on my end I wanna see some movies, GT, or Super as DLC.
Me:Avoids playthroughs for spoilers Also me: watching the story for about the 19374956283636th time Lmao never realized I got a lot of likes but I'm here to inform you after 9 months I still haven't got it yet
I might be one of the few guys who actually loved the side stuff. I’m not doing them for a plat or anything like that I just genuinely enjoy flying around seeing what the game has to offer. Its really enjoyable! The combat grew on me as well after unlocking more abilities.
I am a huge dbz fan but I think I played this game at the wrong time. Sure the combat can be cool as hell, but I am playing this after just having recently finished Red Dead Redemption 2, Witcher 3 GOTY, and Horizon Zero Dawn. Those 3 games are legendary in my opinion in exploration, side activities, story and just as RPGs in general. Playing Kakarot after these left A LOT to be desired. It's just .... average, which is a huge shame.
@@Whistler112 Horizon zero dawn legendary side activities? I only consider TW3 an rpg, other two are open world games. If I did consider HZD and RDR2 RPGs i'd consider them pretty awful rpgs because they're linear and provide little roleplaying value. RDR2 due to it's sandbox elements fairs much better, outside of the story RDR2 lets you have that outlaw experience your way. Problem is actual sandbox games like Kenshi are miles better at that, much better roleplaying experiences with vastly more depth, variety, simulation and agency.
@@7dayspking chill, he's saying that he just played the game after playing masterpieces like those, this game is trash, nostalgia won't make it a good game
That is because you are normal gamer, who is not looking for every flaw. He comes off as very whinny. The dragon Ball z story has never been told like this and yet he had low expectations from the beginning. He expected not to like the game very much and so he wasn't gonna like it. I like globku, but he has been complaining about kakorat since the first gameplay trailer. He is very hard to please. He loves a multiplayer game part of fighters, so you know that should say it all. I am looking for a good single player dragonball rpg with a good story. That is what this game is. I love the game. It is the dragon Ball game I always wanted. He comes off as whinny to me. The game is going to change alot in the next couple of years. It is a good start. Honestly, it the best dragon Ball game I have ever played and I have played them all. Fighter is probable the worst in my opinion.
I cannot forgive that they cut Buff SS Trunks, The Final Flash against Cell and also Instant Transmission Kamehameha.... They ruined the Cell Saga for me !!!
I also can't forgive that when your super sayian and charging your kai it is blue instead of yellow. and for every intermission you can't change characters and are basically always stuck as gohan and is it really so difficult to add a new game plus it would add ton of replay value.
@@electro806 Nah he's just disappointed and being overdramatic like most people on TH-cam. It would be a nice touch if they added new game plus though.
When I first played the Legacy of Golu game.. I neglected my Gohan throughout the entire game so when it came to fight cell at the final battle i had a lvl 27 Gohan or so against Cell maybe being lvl 50 or 70 cant remember, I would've love thisngame to do something similar you know, like hey you gotta lvl up this character and keep up with the side missions and all the other little things within the game... it would've made it a better experience in my opinion
it seems to me that they finished their story battles and then started the open world stuff. Then the release schedule was too tight so everything not including the main story is pretty barbones and while it is fun to explore some hours and see what it has to offer, most of it is there, but not well implemented and impactful. hunting dinosaurs for example... this could have been really fun... instead you can just fly over them and clunkily shoot ki blasts. i love the game, but it had so much more potential. even worse, the systems and open world stuff that's already there has way more potential without even much effort. Edit: got distracted and forgot my point. I guess they didn't want you to get these ridiculous amounts of xp gifted, but earned through the open world... they had no time to implement it as planned so now you just get random xp. I have that guess, because some fights are really imbalanced aswell. For me the Radditz fight felt way harder than any fights following until vegeta... and even the vegeta fight... first one is easy, but at least a little challenging... his ape form is down in about 2 combos because it only has 10k life unlike the fight BEFORE where he had about 70-80k life. The balance is all over the place.
@@RaxXxvell with just watching several reviews i can definitely see where they tried to improve the game but also where they didn't have time to do so, the random xp is definitely because of the lack of open world and side quest xp they offered, it also seemed like they just had that baked in incase they couldn't distribute that amongst the quests, the game seems pretty cool, and i wanna get it, but i can definitely see the problems it has
The problem with that is that the casual player of today would be completely pissed if the game did that to them. They would complain the game is broken and say that is now unbeatable because it was poorly made. Just look at people complaining about Assassin's Creed Odyssey gating story missions with a level requirement. A lot of people would say it was made like that to encourage people buying the Exp boost, but if you do some side content here and there you are always waaaay past the level requirements.
they left out its over 9000, vegetas final flash against cell, gokus instant transmission kamehameha against cell, when Gohan catches cells destructo disks, super trunks, and a plethora of more iconic scenes. But yet we have fishing
I think my verdict on the game is this: For a dragonball game, it's pretty alright, but as a game its pretty lacking It feels like a lot of its systems are just there to say "we have systems", but don't actually flow together in any super fun way, all of the side activities feel pointless. I would love to have more meaningful content and side activities. Hell even have a little mini game with Chi-Chi making you dinner for your stat boost meals would be fun. Have the red ribbon armies basses be little dungeons you can fight through Have the fishing only be done with bait and make the bait a little more rare. Something. Not to mention the constant feeding of XP makes it feel like it's holding your hand. It reminds me of that one Final Fantasy game that was intentionally made to be watered down for westerners because the Japanese thought we were too stupid for RPGs. Like it feels like a fake RPG. You know how in your previous impressions video you felt like you ran short on orbs? I never had that issue because the game drip feeds you stuff at such a slow pace, you never actually get to have any choice in your abilities because its just going to give you what the character had at that time. It would have been nice to have more character customization in terms of like accessories or abilities. Not saying piccolo should toss out a Kamehameha, but something better than the boring character building they gave you. In terms of stylization CC2 did a pretty okay job. I wish there were more of those hyper animated scenes (Like Tien holding off Cell with his Tri Beam is a badass moment why wasn't that given a nice paint job. ) but It just makes more of the more wooden animations feel flat. Not to mention that wish some of the boss battles had those mid fight QTE's like in the Storm series. I get the bosses have cinematic attacks, but it would have been nice to have more.
If I may I agree with some of your points and disagree with a lot more. Anyone who has played a cyber connect to game should have expected that not all of these cutscenes were going to be stellar and magnificent I don't know why anyone had that expectation in their head that everything would be movie cutscenes. That being said I do have a problem with the numerous amount of the skippable dialogue anime cutscenes that have been in these games for several years now including the storm series. In terms of the combat it can be very much like Xenoverse in hectic times which I don't like however what for me saves it is that unlike that game your characters feel much more responsive fast and fluid Xenoverse to me ever since the first game your characters feel like they're being literally weighted down by a truck. Xenoverse has never felt fast and fluid to me. People say this game is lacking combat depth I disagree to a degree when you're in a boss fight you do need to know what you're doing You cannot just spam buttons and the game makes you balance offense and defense however you don't have access to a lot of combos You have more access to combo hits as you go down the skill tree. When you think about it however Xenoverse only has two three basic combos per character whether that is CAC or the base roster of characters.I don't know why for the life of me people think that the combat of Xenoverse is in depth I think it's atrocious and even though this game only gives you one basic combo instead of three I feel that it is more in depth because it forces you to balance your offense and your defense whereas Xenoverse if you want to just spam super attacks you are more than welcome to the slow net code and the online play makes that almost the only way to play. You're more than welcome to spam super attacks here as well but you will die.The AI doesn't need improving and the game definitely needs an overall difficulty bump as well as endgame content if they want people to reach the ridiculous nonsense level cap of 250 but if you eat enough meals to boost your stats I personally have been able to take out quite a few of the level 170 enemies and I am only with Goku Gohan and Vegeta around level 120 a piece. The story mode does give you an absurd amount of EXP but if you want to take on the villainous enemies you are going to have a far tougher time if you don't grind out some of the side quests and quite frankly even though they're repetitive if you're just not willing to do the side quests and do the story and blitz through it as fast as you can Not only will you be severely underleveled despite doing the story missions but you're missing out on more than half of the game So while the side quests are repetitive I do think they're worth doing when it comes down to it there is only one game that has done side questing correctly it has been the king of side questing and I don't expect any game in this decade maybe even the next to top that and I am of course speaking of the Witcher 3.I don't think any developer is ever going to do side questing the way that they did where every quest is meaningful and interesting. There are some fights that are not in the game and I don't know why that is but given the fact that they did so well with 90% of the story and retold it's so beautifully unlike anything DBZ has ever seen I'm going to let that go as long as the DLC content is quite frankly fantastic.overall I haven't had this much fun with dragon Ball z since Budokai 3 and that is my honest opinion and those have somewhat more in-depth combat systems but not by much. When taking the nostalgia glasses off and replaying some of the older games they're just as repetitive as this game in terms of combat sure you have more combos but every character has the same basic layout and some characters even have the same supers.it's a fighting game to a degree and therefore two a degree it's going to be repetitive but for the people just smashing buttons of course you're not going to get anywhere you do need to block and Dodge etc. All of this being said the game for me gets an 8 out of 10 I'm not so blind to give it a perfect score it's not a perfect game but I think it's personally one of the best dragon Ball z games ever created in terms of its basic platform it's got a lot to stand on because it's a JRPG they can practically add in the entirety of the super saga if they wanted to. I guess I'm one of those fans that knew what cyber connect 2 was going to do because I played all the storm games therefore I expected most of the cutscenes not to be movie cutscenes I think for some reason a lot of fans thought the entire game were going to be stellar movie like cutscenes and that's just not going to be the case. mind you I do wish that there were more of the movie styled cutscenes as they're absolutely gorgeous but as of right now for me DBZ Kakarot gets an 8 out of 10 but is it worth a 9 or 10 Right now no there's not enough content but in time we'll have to see what they come out with.
Its pretty standard for cyberconnect to usually have the first game using a new engine for them to make a 10/10. The Storm series wasnt known for its badass boss cinematic boss battles until it's 2nd installment
@@18ps3anos I really don't think it's that average when you compare it to something with the budget of red Dead redemption or even the Witcher of course it's going to be average in comparison to those games The Witcher 3 is the king of side questing and I think they will remain the king of side questing for decades to come and I literally mean decades to expect this game to have the same level of polish I think fans were a little in over their heads and it's the same thing with the cutscenes anyone who actually knew cyber connect 2 should know that even the storm games had the same problem everyone expected there to be movie cutscenes every single second and there wasn't. Fans should have expected most of the cutscenes were going to be lower quality dialogue the typical trend in anime games in the last five six years type of cutscenes with these super over the top spectacle cutscene sprinkled in. If anything in my opinion I find Xenoverse more average than this Xenoverse is such a cop out concept and it was executed and milked to death for DLC so poorly all they gave people were character skins and what did people do they just continued to use their CAC's because the net code is so awful in that game The only way to win is to use the same five moves out of the monumental move pool given in the entire game and spam them to death.while you can spam your moves in this game it's not recommended and you will die You need to block and dodge and counter in Xenoverse 90% of the player base ranked or otherwise simply spams their super attacks. For me Xenoverse was the ultimate cash grab easy to milk and pump out DLC of low quality while never fixing the online net code.this game doesn't have those problems therefore I find it to be the superior game and quite frankly finally anyone who thought the side quests were not going to be repetitive is out of their minds no developer is going to top the Witcher 3 and ever since that game came out I'm finding more and more that people are expecting every game with side quests to be as top quality as The Witcher it's not going to happen If anything I think it's a testament to just how God damn good The Witcher 3 is but it shouldn't be used as the end all be all.
This really should have been an original Dragon Ball game. Imagine how much they could lean in on the adventure aspect of the series with that. Meeting Bulma, master roshi, your first tournament etc. It would have been great. Amazing review but I'm so glad I passed on this game. I really hope the Dragon Quest team can make a turn based dragon ball game or something. They'd be perfect for it.
Really a good Review from a Person that has played trough it all (i did it also) and is pointing out its flaws because i didnt know know if i should reommend it to a Buddy. Now i am sharing this Video to him.Thumps Up and subbed Globku .
This game is severely lacking in the ability to fuse, even if it makes no sense. I wanna fuse during free roam combat. I also think its lame that there's no way to change costumes. I'd love to play the rest of the endgame w/ Great saiyaman :(.
this game has actually become my fav DBZ game made, i think its a top tier game, the combat is a bit shallow but its also a lil deeper than most people realize since theres specific combos the game doesnt teach you, if you dont look in the tutorial section you will never learn about it, so if you havnt looked in them do it bc theres some stuff you are never told, tutorials are hidden tho in the system menu
Combat has definitely been the highlight of the game for me so far. Especially when I found out about the diffrent combo enders. And oh teammates, lawd. Best moment for me was doing stuff like fighting Nappa with Gohan, Tien and Krillin. Solar flared Nappa, whaled on him then blew him away with a ki pulsing him away for that quick ki regen, krillin kicks him back then Tri Beam-Masenkoing him into the ground and a z-comobo finish was THE most hype moment for me XD. Just experimenting with that stuff is alot of what keeps me playing and enjoying the story, haha
I think the game is ok I wish that they animed and gave greater spotlight on the must impactful scenes like the light grenade and the final flash scene wasn’t even a cut scene which pisses me off. I’m like a good 20 hours in and I’m not regretting my purchase but I’m not happy with it. This game could have been better but right now it’s just ok. Honestly I wish it was more difficult and I wish cc2 did there thing with the boss fights. I hate quick time events but only if there done right. That’s why I love playing the storm story line. But overall I agree it’s good but not great.
I'm not gonna lie I had a hard time with buu at the end goku was level 67 and I only had 21 vitadrink health things and I never cooked. I had to replay that fight 5 times before I got his pattern down. Maybe go through it again using barely and health bottles?
Congrats on fully completing the game and getting the platinum! As a mild fan of DBZ I still want to pick it up but I'm totally fine waiting it out for this to drop in price. Thanks for the in-depth review!
I loved this game very much, It was kind of show simulator that I wanted for many years. I initially didn’t like the combat , later got used to it. I liked the dodging mechanics and variety of attacks from each opponents , It was fun. I would like to play early dragon ball saga as kid goku and krillin in similar style. DB is full of adventures , so there is plenty of room to add many interesting side quests, hangout’s, mini games, quests and lot of fighting in it.
Things that were a huge letdown for me(cinematic means top tier cutscenes) - No cinematic Kaioken x3 Goku vs Vegeta scene - No cinematic 18 breaking Vegetas arm scene - No cinematic Goku self sacrifice against Cell exploding - No cinematic Vegeta Final Flash vs Cell scene - No Super Trunks vs Cell - No Sword vs Finger Goku & Trunks cinematic scene - No Goten vs Trunks fight(not a problem just it’d be fun) - No Future Trunks story(history of Trunks special arc) - No cinematic Vegeta going SSJ - No cinematic Trunks cutting Frieza up nor Going SSJ - Bosses are too easy
Man I loved every second of this game and I've played just about every single DBZ and DB and DBS game out there and I still get chills on most the scenes in this game. It's basically the Legend of Goku games just remade and I LOVED it. I must have played those games combined like 30 times maybe more. So i can't imagine how many times I'm going to play this. Can't wait to get all the achievements for this game. Good review, don't agree with the score but it's his personal opinion.
Matthew Duffee same I enjoyed every second of the game including the side missions. I also disagree with the rating I would give it an A or B. The only thing I wanted more was I wanted the game to be more of a RPG I didn’t like the free XP
Thanks for the review. You confirmed all of my early judgments of the game. Because of my completionist mentality, I fly around and grab all the items and orbs I can, only to realize it's not that big of a deal in terms of progression. Nonetheless, I appreciate playing through of all my favorite DBZ moments.
The part I hated they skipped os when everyone was putting their all into helping gohan defeat cell with the kamehameha. It showed it took EVERYONE to take out cell. It showed without team effort the planet would've been destroyed.
They based it off the manga, where Vegeta was the only one that hit Cell(and was the only one strong enough to even phase him slightly). Everyone piling in was anime filler
It's like a fusion of the old Legacy of Goku GBA games and the Budokai Tenkaichi ones in PS2. Really liked the game. Haven't experienced DBZ like this since I was a kid. Good stuff. Still... I could not stop thinking about how it could have been so much better. A more refined combat system, character personalization, better side stories... things that could have made the game a masterpiece. Don't know if they just got lazy or if they had time problems, but it feels like a huge wasted opportunity. No room for a sequel and no chance of going over the DBZ story AGAIN anytime soon. We'll have to wait a good amount of time before we get THAT DBZ game.
I gave the game a 7 out of 10. Like you said the game skips important scenes like GOHAN going ssj. But what really got me is in one of the trailers you clearly see vegeta charging the final flash and I thought FINALLY a game recreates that scene in game form which has never been done in any dbz game with cutscenes. Well get to that part and nothing... it was at 8 out of 10 but it lost a whole point for skipping a scene they had in a trailer clearly. Someday I will get vegeta's final flash in game cutscene form or at least I hope 🥺😒
I'm currently new to dragon ball and honestly I've had a lot of fun with Kakarot. I'm simultaneously watching Z (since I have not seen it yet) and playing through it as well and honestly as a new fan to the series who's doing both I genuinely do enjoy it. I definitely can agree with every flaw however, sometimes it does feel padded out and corners have been cut, but all things considered I have played way worse anime video games. I do not believe it is worth the 60 dollars it's being sold for however, I picked it up while it was on sale for about 30-40 I can't recall and I think that is a much more worthy price. I can recommend it on sale, but not for full price.
Globku you are speaking the truth!! Yes the combos and all that are simple, but the enemies are so fun to fight, especially when there are multiple! And I can't deny the fact that a lot of the open world stuff is pointless haha. An overworld that complemented the style of Dragon Ball would've been a lot better. Not saying the overworld is bad, in fact I oftentimes get lost exploring it, but there's a lot of room for improvement. There may be a lot holding this game back from being the perfect open world Dragon Ball experience, but I still found it a blast to play!! There were a lot of quality shifts in this game and I think your review perfectly shows that while also showing the amazing upsides to this game as well!!
THANK YOU Globku for your honesty! Yes, the game is OKAY at best, but obviously hardcore dbz fans are going to be biased about it. it just baffles me that none of them will admit they are just being biased. That said, at least dbz fans are not as toxic as Pokemon fans. Sheesh
Even as a hardcore DB fan I can see the game is ok at best. It lacks in many things. The side quests are either repetitive or just plain boring. The flight system is really cool and all, it's a nice world, but I wish they commited to being an RPG. I can enjoy and distract myself with the game easily, but I have to look beyond that for legit criticism.
@@ufazig let's be realistic here any game with side quests is going to be repetitive nothing is going to top The Witcher 3 everyone expects side quests to be like The Witcher 3 because the Witcher 3 did it in such a monumental way where every side quest actually was meaningful and no game to my knowledge has ever been able to come close to the Witcher 3 side questing abilities. I do think this review is a little harsh and I respect the heck out of the content creator where he is right is that the game does lack endgame content there's no purpose to grind up the level 250 which is the rumored maximum level there's not enough content to get you there. The side quests are linear they are repetitive but as I said I'm going to let it slide because this is not the only game that has linear repetitive side questing every other game in the universe has it and nothing is going to top the witcher. So the side questing honestly doesn't bother me in terms of the cutscenes that massively bothers me there are these great moments much like in the storm series where the cutscenes are animated so beautifully and the rest of the game are these dialogue cutscenes That I have a problem with however I can't really complain about it because I know what cyber connect to does and what they're known for and I expected to cut scenes to be as such in the interim. This game is not perfect by any means and I am a hardcore fan but let me tell you if they add more end game content to this game over the course of time I can easily see myself loving this game more than the beloved Budokai 3. As it stands now and it's present state I would make this game equal to Budokai 3 I have not had this much fun with dragon Ball z since that game So that says a lot.
@@mattmanley7118 it doesn't say that much. It says you're a hardcore dbz fan. Which there's nothing wrong with. But you typed a whole lot just to pretty much say nothing.
@@mattmanley7118 Yes, RPGs tend to have that problem, save for the witcher 3 that manages quite the feat. But I guess kakarot really regressed in quest design. Fetching quests and talking quests? This is free MMO level. And the immersion in the game is not sufficient, especially with the "semi-transition" during fights. I guess someone said it better than me, they should have made the side quests being the movies. It adds more to the game without getting repetitive. I also think we should be able to fight and free roam at the same time, like an action RPG. Fighting dinos and other creatures. And of course, getting rid of the many loading screens. They could've done better. But it's not a bad game by any means, especially for a fan. I can't say for the future though. Obviously DB super will be DLC. But we'll have to wait and see. Game has a lot of potential with later additions, but the base game is lacking beyond the main quests.
Respect for giving this game a fair review and the right score. Too many DBZ fans can't be critical of the franchise and the games. I just beat cell and I'm considering uninstalling the game. It's just not fun, and it baffles me because CyberConnect2 created the incredible Naruto Ninja Storm titles, I don't know how they dropped the ball so hard on this game. You didn't even touch on one of my biggest frustrations and that's the constant audio quips when flying around the overworld. So sick of hearing Goku say "might cause trouble, better take care of this now" whenever an enemy is nearby.
I'm loving the game so far, but it does hurt my feelings when iconic DBZ scenes get omitted. The fact that Vegeta's Final Flash scene is missing is unforgiveable!
Its true that when you first start playing you are gonna feel some hype. The feeling is really like DBZ and the ost's are great. Though at the end it gets repetitive and tiring. I would have loved to have more game modes and minigames, it just feels incomplete.
Fighting games in JRPGs by their nature can be very repetitive and get very tiring very quickly That's what's so hard to break I think they did a very good job with this game given its basic platform without DLC and because it's a JRPG that tells the story so well DLC the possibilities are limitless we'll just have to wait and see what they do but I do agree that I wish there were more minigames and quite honestly repetitive side questing or not I would like to have had more of them to do. There's a lot of them but I wanted more whenever the time machine becomes functional and we are able to go back in time and essentially do the side quests we missed I only have maybe six side quests I'm missing the entire game So after that the game is complete to me So I think they could stand to add more mini games etc Heck I hope they expanded the training room because that's one of the best parts of the game for me. There's a lot they can do we'll just see if they have the budget and the time to support this game and I think that they will
Yes you are right, but at the end of the day, we all know that the game is still new. I hope that in the future they add lots of DLC to make the game better. At least it didn't end up like One Piece World Seeker.
@@mattmanley7118 We're going to be in a few threads together. When I first heard this game was announced I had so many hopes of what I wanted a Dragon ball RPG to be. Whether it'd be that amazing sandbox experience that let's play my own character or that extremely story focused experience that would provide my main cast of characters the same dilemmas these characters really faced within the series and for there to be a branching structure that allowed me to experience the triumphs, consequences and ultimate outcomes of what my Goku and my Gohan decided to do faced with these obstacles. That's why I don't really want another Japanese so called 'rpg' Dragon ball game. There's so many amazing western games that have explored roleplaying through strong stories, amazing sandboxes or deep simulation and interaction. Having one of those with the Dragon ball title on the box would be awesome. As someone who plays games like these I find the mentality of paying for your game and then being excited to wait until at your expense there's some decent content put into the game so foreign. The game at launch is what should excite me.
After beating the story yesterday. I realized the rpg system doesnt make sense at all. No difficulty settings + scaling enemies + healing items = easy story -> Vegeta gohan goku have highest levels because of story exp -> each character shares experience points (not just the ones in your current party) -> enemies scale to highest level character (not just the ones in your current party) -> lower characters deal only 1 damage to higher scaled enemies -> use higher leveled character (goku gohan vegeta) to beat enemies and level up lower level characters (because exp is shared) --> higher level character get exp as well (because exp is shared) so will always stay highest level -> enemies keep scaling to high leveled characters (goku, gohan, vegeta) = flawed Rpg system loop -> no point having other characters until level cap of 250 is reached.
Thank you for finally giving a well thought out and honest review. While I don't think it's horrible and even some of the most minor fights are given beautiful animation (Goku vs Recoome in particular), seeing everyone say it's a perfect game despite it having some of the same (if not worse) problems of other anime games started to get on my nerves. Ik people are still hyped and excited, but they're definitely holding it to too high of a regard.
I feel like this is the definitive way to *RE* experience the DBZ story in an interactive form. With that being said, we should expect more games to come that'll create new stories and such (unless they make another Xenoverse game to milk)
@@xblaze20o93 what does him having to be a non dbz fan have to deal with him disliking the game? I'm a fan of this series and I thought the game was just repetitive and mediocre rpg that I know for a fact cc2 really could have done better with.
Ok so I’ve beat the game I play on PlayStation I’ve got the platinum and my biggest complaint about this game is the “RPG” aspect your set at what ever level the game wants side quests basically don’t matter too much and end game for some reason Gohan at least mine is 10 levels above everyone else but besides this I say one of the best games
I see this point brought up a lot but the reason they give characters a ton of exp is because some points in the story you can't play with goku or vegeta cuz they're dead like imagine coming back as goku and your like level 6 fighting a lvl 16 nappa in a moment where you're suppose to dominate him it'd be annoying grinding all those lvls just to fight a boss all the time

Apparently the top-tier cutscenes are pre-rendered. On consoles this isn't a problem as the output is 1080p, but on pc, where you can go upwards of 1080p, it is, since these scenes are only available in 1080p, leading to a drop in quality. Other cutscenes are rendered in-game, but don't have the same animation quality. This would also explain a lot, since in these top-tier cutscenes there are a lot more effects than are actually in the game, take the clothing for example: in the top-tier cutscenes they move along with the wind, but not in the actual game, or any other cutscene. Normally this would greatly subtract from the experience, but luckily, these amazing cutscenes are present where it matters most.
If you want a challenge I would try doing the villainous fights when you are close to 10 levels weaker than them . It makes for a fun challenge to be honest and that’s exactly what I did . It made things extremely satisfying instead of a cakewalk .
Excelente análise Luís, parabéns :D The top tier cutscenes only highlight how bad the other cutscenes look by comparison. It's such a stark contrast that it's impossible to ignore, although the actual character models and backgrounds look good and appealing. No difficulty settings is a bummer and the sidequests suck but I still want to play it. Even just for those gorgeous cutscenes of all the key story points of my all time favorite anime.
I enjoyed the RPG style in all honestly. I’m literally just flying around catching fish, leveling up, exploring the different regions, but that’s just me. It was a game more than just the fighting that’s why I enjoy it, but again that’s just me. It’s what DBZ SAGAS(2005) should’ve been./
I spent literally 10 hours on the the Saiyan Saga alone because of how much detail was added into this game. It’s a 10/10 for me, but I have nostalgia for SAGAS so maybe there’s some bias there.\
I would give this game a B rating as per your criteria. I think the RPG concept in dragon ball Z is an unique concept . The combat system grew on me and the challenges were somewhat entertaining ( got annoying at the end game ) . I too have finished the game and have the platinum trophy . But this game feels like a one time play as there is literally nothing to do after getting that platinum trophy . They should add the dragon ball super series as it would be exciting to play as beerus and other characters . Although the game is boring at the end , I couldnt stop myself from playing this game before earning the trophy and it was a unique experience and the game was focused on many small details which other dragon ball games have failed to do . It was definitely a different experience from xenoverse 2
I disagree taking the nostalgia blinders off and recently replaying Storm 4 it can be just as repetitive as this game combat wise You have three combos just like you do in Xenoverse to my knowledge the storm games used to have four combos apiece and they removed one I believe it's the left and right combo. The storm games have become extremely repetitive to me but for their time they were absolutely ridiculous in terms of quality but I don't think those games are any better than this game I think that these are actually on an even playing field both tell the story very well Storm 4 being the ultimate retelling but the combat is the same the buttons are exactly the same as this game in terms of one button is used to do your limited combos and special moves I don't think there's anything more special about the storm games than there is this game. That being said fighting games by their nature whether in depth or not are repetitive and that's what the challenge is how do you break that repetitiveness it's very hard to do.
@@vintendio naruto storm is the only good arena fighter. It can actually be competitive. Any other arena fighters are not good. They're just aesthetics
For what it is I enjoy it, however one thing I want is more characters to play as, they have this thing where you can revive old enemies and defeat them and afterwards it implies these guys will change their ways and be good, but then there is no pay off besides a soul emblem, missed opportunity to have the revived villains become playable, obviously they can't be used in the story mode but that's alright, all I want to do is fly around and kick butt as Raditz (my favorite character) But besides this I still have fun, sure not everything is to my liking but hey you can't hit gold on the first attempt, if this game gets a sequel I guarantee it'll probably be one of the top 5 best Dragon Ball games ever
I really enjoyed the combat and free roam. After some experimenting with quick steps and guard burst s, the combat does develop some good depth. Guard burst against their hyper armor attacks are very powerful and create high octane gameplay opportunities. Really loving the game so far and almost done but I never thought you would give it a C. Personally id give it at least a B but I can respect your reasoning
Bit of a hot take, but I think Dragon Ball games (be it classic, Z, Super, GT or anything else) work better as RPGs than they do as fighting games (or at least an RPG/fighting hybrid like Xenoverse or Fighter Z story mode). The entire point of Dragon Ball (especially Z and onwards) is training and power levels, and those two things are key mechanics in almost every RPG, so I think DB and RPG mechanics really fit together. You can feel yourself becoming stronger as you progress, and that's basically what happens in actual Dragon Ball. Plus in RPGs you don't have to worry about roster balance or anything like that, so in true Dragon Ball fashion you can use all the broken stuff you want and nobody would bat an eye. Also... "no super no movies" but what about the DLC?
i think the most fun part for me was finally maxing every board, i had to grind villanous enemies for secret to success items and i played all the dlc to unlock every soul emblem and after as much optimisation as possible i did it and now all i have to do is fly from point A to B and on the way there i start drowning in orbs and money and XP.
I think this game has hope honestly. Give this game a good dlc involving the DB or DBS storylines, tune up the ai, reduce story exp by like 50% and increase side story exp by like the same amount and there ya go by doing 3 things they fix major issues
1:18 You've never played Fire Emblem, huh? Awakening and Fates don't have the greatest story or are the best games in the franchise... But damn, those anime cutscenes look amazing. And those are 3DS games.
What other mini games, side quests or gimicks other games had that were really fun/ added to the game experience/ or seemed to really tie in with the rest of the game? My nomination would be Gwent from The Witcher 3. It was a simple but fun card game that was weaved into the game's entirety. You could solve problems by playing Gwent. You could collect cards from various locations and people. There was even a tournament that made it feel like the deck that you made was worth building. Most importantly however, I found myself wanting to play Gwent over and over again, just as much as the main game. It was extremely fun, but completely optional. What do you guys think? What's your Gwent in a game (didn't have to be a card game.) Have you tried the standalone Gwent version on PC and iOS?
Not a huge dragon ball fan but I love this game it looks beautiful on the Xbox one x still playing it and I think is a 8.7 easy but I’m enjoying the game so much
Real shame they didn't allow us to replay the story by the "chapter" in the base game, heard they will allow us to in a future update but I looked forward to replaying bosses in their proper environment. Also I think this is the only dragon ball game that got super saiyan 3's hair right
Yeah, I assumed that eventually we'd be able to replay the boss fights via some sort of quick mode, with online leader boards for rankings, etc. I love the story but sometimes you just wanna brawl.
It's a good game bro... Don't ever let reviews push u away from something that intrigues u. It's enjoyable and no it's not Witcher or botw but it is fun and definitely enjoyable and will only get better from here.
@@blkjohnnybravo3506 Yeah but when reviews are used nowadays to justify whether it's worth purchasing a game or not, these reviews do push away people from getting them. I'm not blaming Globku for that.
@@e1iteyoshi998 trust me I know bro... His review was fair but I still think ppl should experience it for themselves... Even if u gotta wait for the price to drop.
@@blkjohnnybravo3506 I see what you mean, but the whole "Pretends to be an RPG" thing really concerns me, and this is not the only review that brings it up. Like I'll probably get the game, but way further down the year.
@@blkjohnnybravo3506 in my opinion, it is not a good game, it has a lot of flaws and a lot of time-wasting things like excessively long cutscenes (I'm talking about the bad animated ones). People is saying that they hope the dlc is good or hope they got a lot of dlcs and that's not something good. The game is a week old and people hoping for dlc is not a good sign because they are justifying the game is now bad with that. Like I said, in my opinion it is a huge letdown that nostalgia can't carry
I’ll wait for a price drop.Im a HUGE dragon ball Z fan I’ve watched it in the United States and Mexico.if I was 10 years old this would be the perfect game for me as it looks what the Legacy of Goku games and Buu’s fury were trying to accomplish back in the day.
I have long thought about a Dragon Ball Z game where you play through the game as Goku like this. But with 1 major difference. Letting the player make story choices, like "What if Goku didn't let go of Raditz's tail?" or "What if Goku spared Frieza and brought him to Earth?"
So to make this a better game they have to: introduce a difficulty mode or make the enemies harder to beat, make the side missions, and activities more fun in the long run (not just a novelty the first play time,) reduce the amount of loading screens, make the items useful by scaling their effects, make the side quests have more varying activities instead of just, fetch, fight or follow the trail of people... Anything that I missed?
I think a good way to do this game right is to make either "New Game+" or a "Power Level" system for difficulty so you can raise the power level of the game to increase difficulty, make AI smarter and add cool downs to certain things such as special moves and items.
A Very big minus for me is non having a "super vegeta" form as a normal transformation for vegeta. Seriously game is a action rpg so if you train and achive new form then its obvious that is no problem to use it... but no insted of that vegeta have normal ssj and you can play as a super vegeta only in two fights with cell and which they last only couple of minutes thats really pissed me of in kakarot... why not make piccolo ultimate namek fusion form available only with c17 and 1form cell or ssj2 gohan only with cell and one fight with buu... yeaaa its gonna be great ;) im looking forward to it!
I think we fall mostly on the same page, with the exception that i don't like the combat as much. There's some cool stuff and ideas in there, but it degenerates into the same hyperarmor/infinite stamina stuff pretty fast and it really breaks the flow of the fight and makes most fights look and feel pretty samey.
I was really looking forward to getting the game, until I heard you say nostalgia carries the game alot. Not that I have a problem with that, it's just that I literally watched the whole Dragonball series like 2 years ago lmao, so nostalgia won't really work for me
im currently on the frieza saga and your review is spot on, the exp should have been focused more on the side quest and the random fights instead of gaining xp from boss fights because it would make the player lazy on the game play and be like “ why side quest when i can just beat the boss and gain large xp” but so far i am enjoying the game tho
I recall being very skeptical of the combat system in Kakarot thanks to its simplicity, especially thanks to the Xenoverse games, but Kakarot felt like a pleasant surprise. I think a huge part of it is that the fights don't overstay their welcome, unlike the Xenoverse games (when I'm not cheesing the game), I'm totally fine with simple combat as long as things don't take too long. Except that time I thought I could take on the higher level villainous enemies so soon, that took forever, and I admit it was a terrible idea. Lmao
See I really like this game but it does have some problems for me. The dialogue feels very very forced. Like one character will say something either super emotional or super calm then there will be a noticeable delay and someone will reply with the opposite tone in their voice. Atleast usually that happens. The fights are fun but the enemies have way too much hyper armor which makes me resort to spamming supers which I really hate doing. The auras are always either blue or white when charging which needs fixed. I also very much so dislike that we cannot be on the ground running to fight. You’re always in the air no matter what. That’s very upsetting to me seeing how most dbz games have us in the air. I do like the skill tree and training system. I also really like how every support and playable character has skill trees. I do hope since this game is going to be worked on for a long time and not have a sequel that most of the negatives get fixed within time. The game is an 8/10 for me but it does have potential to go up if the combat, the auras, and the dialogue gets fixed.
Agree with most thing, just finished the cell saga but I am still really enjoying the game. My main problem is overused narration or just text descriptions which would would have been better as an actual cutscene.
In this video i agree with everything you said, personally i wish the game gave more for the food bonus so it could actually be more useful or just gave more types of side quests. Using globku's letter scale i'd give it a B. If it was just better in the submissions and the actual rpg aspect of it, it'd be an A in my book. Then again i am bias cause i am a fan of DB.
I hate when people say is repetitive ... Its an RPG , and if u wanna talk about it , In Dragon ball z ALL they do is Fight , Does that mean Dragon ball is boring/repetitive? Really ?
Wow, great Review. I knew I wasn't the only one that that doesn't like the 3D DBZ fighting games. For some reason there are a LOT of Xenoverse and Tenkaichi 3 fans. But I agree with you 100% that these games are not very good Dragon Ball fighting games. But Kakarot is going into the right direction
Thank god I have two saves but I still lost a lot of data and gonna have to catch up again tomorrow- I was doing some side quest with goku, and i beat it. then i switched characters to trunks and did a side quest for him. But the Side quest i did with goku brought back some villains, so when i went to that location with trunks it froze the game entirely. So i cannot use my up to to date file. Other than that I love the game, but it needs a lot of fixing. It felt rushed :( (7.5/10)
Why is it that most Japanese developers are still making games like it is the early 2000s ? Nostalgia keeps me playing but damn if this isn't a extremely shallow poorly made game. Such a missed opportunity to make the game we have been wanting for nearly 30 years.
i don't know why, but i love dbz kakarot more than any other dragonball game. i lost my interest in dragonball years ago, never had anything to do with dragonball since a long time, loved it as a child. every now and then when new dbz games came out, i bought them cheap and thought, maybe its not so bad. i never liked most of the dragonball games after tenkaichi 3 (which was great!), i really really disliked xenoverse for some reason. db z kakarot got me back into dragonball and for the very first time i might start watching dragonball super afterwards. i couldn't quite connect with dragonball super before.
The only thing that kept combat fun for me was the step vanish. I’d throw a few hits step vanish and reset the combo and do this infinitely in different ways comboing in different supers and ki blast. Maybe I put too much into it lol but it definitely made combat fun to the point where I sought out all enemies to stylishly beat their ass.
I am not a DB fan but this is perfect casual game for me. After getting exhausted of some other game or getting wrecked in multiplayer I pop this game in PS4 and have a great relaxing time.
@@grimmy6126 Got ds3 82 complete and hoping for a demon soul's remastered like chase the bro or prod (My early comment was google voice recorded which am starting to fucking hate)
I noticed some censorship in the game. For example: When Gohan goes Oozaru against Vegeta, when Gohan reverts from that form he is wearing pants. In the original, he was butt naked. I understand why THAT was removed from the game but then you look at another example: In the Buu arc, I remember Buu's dog getting shot. But in the game, Mr. Satan gets shot. It's little things like this that bug me.
“I don’t like Xenoverse 2 and Budokai Tenkaichi 3 but a game that takes a lot of stuff from both of those and makes it a lot easier with no other difficulty modes is amazing”
Haven't bought the game yet and honestly the only thing I'm on the fence about is that..I don't really artificial difficulty all too much. Level systems are fine but I don't like it when it's too dependant on it and the ai are just easy..weak.
Hmmm. Good thing I’m pretty busy these days, so I didn’t grab it right away like I normally would with these sort of games. That being said, I’m pretty sure I would love the crap out of this game as is. The nostalgia factor is definitely there for me. Maybe I’ll get it once it’s like $20 with all the DLC included :). I’m waiting for that “Dragon Ball Z: Super Kakarot Edition”
To me it's a good game if you love dragon ball and wanna pass some time playing a single player game or just wanna play something different for a change. It's a good game to chill and play and fly around doing side missions and what not. I do agree that it is disappointing that they took out key moments like Vegeta's final flash, piccolo's hell zone grenade and other stuff cuz it kinda took away from immersion into the story when you get to a special moment and realize it didn't happen. Kinda like opening a big present then finding out the huge box was actually empty.
As much as I love this game, I can’t stop playing and I will be going for a platinum for the hell of it, I can’t get behind all the scenes that got cut including probably my favorite scene (the Final Flash). I’m almost to the Cell Games, so I haven’t seen everything, but I don’t understand why they make something so random like Recoome’s ultra fighting bomber look so insanely good and then completely skip the Final Flash. It just doesn’t make sense to me
I played the game on hard mode and not gonna lie its really hard if you are like me a broke I don’t use healing items so I struggled but that actually made the game more enjoyable and challenging for me
I agree that there are some parts missing from the game, as you said the trunks vs cell fight isn’t there, but just saying the over 9000 thing was basically a blooper that they ran with in the English version
They should add a mode for the world tournament where u fight all kinds of enemy’s and maybe even bosses that were already fought in the Arena
Brawly LKVenom I’m pretty sure a lot would be added in a few months it’s super fun but I feel like it has way more potential
I know I completed the game in 1day and a 1/2 and it’s incredible
I agree something like that final fantasy 7 mode (I forgot the name).
Android 17 dlc ❤️
Please don’t kill me Android 17
That sounds great on paper, but I can almost guarantee that it would get tedious the farther you get. Also, a DBS game would be difficult to make due to the major fights taking place on one planet or location, rather than the constant adventure/location hopping in DBZ/DB (although, the most recent chapters of the DBS manga have been having the characters move around a lot, so there's that).
Just gotta wait for dlc now
No joke I beat the game in only 21 hours

The empty arena seems pretty strange, maybe they will add the tournament as a DLC at some point?
I cannot forgive that they cut Buff SS Trunks, The Final Flash against Cell and also Instant Transmission Kamehameha.... They ruined the Cell Saga for me !!!
I also can't forgive that when your super sayian and charging your kai it is blue instead of yellow. and for every intermission you can't change characters and are basically always stuck as gohan and is it really so difficult to add a new game plus it would add ton of replay value.
Three things ruined the whole saga? Really?

@Meta Tron Those things were anime filler never in the manga.
Sounds like that's all they left out of the game after finishing it myself
Wish they make an update where they put them in
A lot of the stuff that was cut was anime filler tbh. A lot of stuff you mentioned is not however.
Fantastic review, Globku. It was fair, comprehensive, and entertaining.
Great job.
Everything you said about the game is right but for some reason I still can’t stop playing this game 😂😂🤷🏽♂️
I think my verdict on the game is this:
For a dragonball game, it's pretty alright, but as a game its pretty lacking
It feels like a lot of its systems are just there to say "we have systems", but don't actually flow together in any super fun way, all of the side activities feel pointless. I would love to have more meaningful content and side activities. Hell even have a little mini game with Chi-Chi making you dinner for your stat boost meals would be fun.
Have the red ribbon armies basses be little dungeons you can fight through
Have the fishing only be done with bait and make the bait a little more rare.
@Divinital Yeah. The systems in this game juxtaposed with a game like RDR2, really makes dbz kakarot look even worse.
The story mode does give you an absurd amount of EXP but if you want to take on the villainous enemies you are going to have a far tougher time if you don't grind out some of the side quests and quite frankly even though they're repetitive if you're just not willing to do the side quests and do the story and blitz through it as fast as you can Not only will you be severely underleveled despite doing the story missions but you're missing out on more than half of the game
So while the side quests are repetitive I do think they're worth doing when it comes down to it there is only one game that has done side questing correctly it has been the king of side questing and I don't expect any game in this decade maybe even the next to top that and I am of course speaking of the Witcher 3.I don't think any developer is ever going to do side questing the way that they did where every quest is meaningful and interesting.
@Divinital i dont think its average, more like the game has tons of potential but CC is still planning on updating the game for years to come
@@18ps3anos I really don't think it's that average when you compare it to something with the budget of red Dead redemption or even the Witcher of course it's going to be average in comparison to those games The Witcher 3 is the king of side questing and I think they will remain the king of side questing for decades to come and I literally mean decades to expect this game to have the same level of polish I think fans were a little in over their heads and it's the same thing with the cutscenes anyone who actually knew cyber connect 2 should know that even the storm games had the same problem everyone expected there to be movie cutscenes every single second and there wasn't.
I am a DBZ fan and this is my first DBZ "rpg" game! I just finished the Buu Saga and I have to say I loved every minute I was playing this game.
It's an ActionRPG definitely not a true RPG
Well on the switch version you can fuse during free roam combat
this game has actually become my fav DBZ game made, i think its a top tier game, the combat is a bit shallow but its also a lil deeper than most people realize since theres specific combos the game doesnt teach you, if you dont look in the tutorial section you will never learn about it, so if you havnt looked in them do it bc theres some stuff you are never told, tutorials are hidden tho in the system menu
Getting a harder difficulty would actually be welcoming
I loved this game very much, It was kind of show simulator that I wanted for many years. I initially didn’t like the combat , later got used to it. I liked the dodging mechanics and variety of attacks from each opponents , It was fun. I would like to play early dragon ball saga as kid goku and krillin in similar style. DB is full of adventures , so there is plenty of room to add many interesting side quests, hangout’s, mini games, quests and lot of fighting in it.
Things that were a huge letdown for me(cinematic means top tier cutscenes)
- No cinematic Kaioken x3 Goku vs Vegeta scene
- No cinematic 18 breaking Vegetas arm scene
- No cinematic Goku self sacrifice against Cell exploding
- No cinematic Vegeta Final Flash vs Cell scene
- No Super Trunks vs Cell
- No Sword vs Finger Goku & Trunks cinematic scene
- No Goten vs Trunks fight(not a problem just it’d be fun)
- No Future Trunks story(history of Trunks special arc)
- No cinematic Vegeta going SSJ
- No cinematic Trunks cutting Frieza up nor Going SSJ
- Bosses are too easy
Hopefully it's a testing game and maybe with feed back they will make similar games but improvement
@@baylensensei4831 yeah this game deserved a B
I liked the part with the loading screens.
4:00 For example: Vegeta vs first form freiza, nah
But we gotta animate that recoom moment before Goku beats him to look godly tho
Sheesh
jayjesse77 can’t argue with you there. I wish some communities would be less hateful 😞😞
There is no right score. Everyone is gonna have different opinions on this game and not everyone is gonna agree.
Naruto games are trash tho
@@7dayspking imagine a dragon ball game with shitty fighting
I know I’m late but this game is amazing. I enjoyed getting the platinum months ago🔥

Savage Emperor i guess since gohan was technically stronger than everyone except vegito, they wanted to him have the higher level to make him stronger

First game I’ve played in years. 9/10
Excelente análise Luís, parabéns :D
The top tier cutscenes only highlight how bad the other cutscenes look by comparison. It's such a stark contrast that it's impossible to ignore, although the actual character models and backgrounds look good and appealing. No difficulty settings is a bummer and the sidequests suck but I still want to play it. Even just for those gorgeous cutscenes of all the key story points of my all time favorite anime.
I regret pre ordering the most expensive digital version
But at least you get more content next year. Haha i dont know why anyone buys any kind of edition at launch.
It’s a 10/10 for me, but I have nostalgia for SAGAS so maybe there’s some bias there.\
Only thing I didn’t like was the tutorials. It took me a minute to get used to the mechanics of the game./
I wish they had done a dragon ball z storm instead. Visuals like these with storm battles would have been perfect.
100% missed opportunity
That being said fighting games by their nature whether in depth or not are repetitive and that's what the challenge is how do you break that repetitiveness it's very hard to do.
wtf is storm

I hope they add super. Z might be a better story, but super seems more fun to play as a video game. Playing the tournament would’ve been dope
amen
For what it is I enjoy it, however one thing I want is more characters to play as, they have this thing where you can revive old enemies and defeat them and afterwards it implies these guys will change their ways and be good, but then there is no pay off besides a soul emblem, missed opportunity to have the revived villains become playable, obviously they can't be used in the story mode but that's alright, all I want to do is fly around and kick butt as Raditz (my favorite character)
But besides this I still have fun, sure not everything is to my liking but hey you can't hit gold on the first attempt, if this game gets a sequel I guarantee it'll probably be one of the top 5 best Dragon Ball games ever
I feel like they just put this out to keep the DBZ license
Bit of a hot take, but I think Dragon Ball games (be it classic, Z, Super, GT or anything else) work better as RPGs than they do as fighting games (or at least an RPG/fighting hybrid like Xenoverse or Fighter Z story mode).
The entire point of Dragon Ball (especially Z and onwards) is training and power levels, and those two things are key mechanics in almost every RPG, so I think DB and RPG mechanics really fit together. You can feel yourself becoming stronger as you progress, and that's basically what happens in actual Dragon Ball.
Plus in RPGs you don't have to worry about roster balance or anything like that, so in true Dragon Ball fashion you can use all the broken stuff you want and nobody would bat an eye.

i think the most fun part for me was finally maxing every board, i had to grind villanous enemies for secret to success items and i played all the dlc to unlock every soul emblem and after as much optimisation as possible i did it and now all i have to do is fly from point A to B and on the way there i start drowning in orbs and money and XP.
also another way to increase difficulty is to not use auto transforms because late game is balanced to expect this.
I think this game has hope honestly. Give this game a good dlc involving the DB or DBS storylines, tune up the ai, reduce story exp by like 50% and increase side story exp by like the same amount and there ya go by doing 3 things they fix major issues

Their was a glitch in the storymode where i stayed in a circle and couldnt get out and I had to restart the game, a big flaw but still a fun game.

Yeah, I assumed that eventually we'd be able to replay the boss fights via some sort of quick mode, with online leader boards for rankings, etc. I love the story but sometimes you just wanna brawl.
Damn, sounds like I should just wait for it to be on sale. That's fine, I can wait on it for a while.
Really ?
This is a great start. The next one which is probably super should be amazing
@@dangamer8884 yes it's mediocre but it's better than bullshit:D
Thanks for the honest review. We need a top tier Dbz game!
It felt a bit rushed to me as well!
Dragon Ball fighting games always tend to blow me away, they've always done a great job with these
Why is it that most Japanese developers are still making games like it is the early 2000s ? Nostalgia keeps me playing but damn if this isn't a extremely shallow poorly made game. Such a missed opportunity to make the game we have been wanting for nearly 30 years.
It is weird to think about I’m just guessing the budget for Japanese games are nowhere near like American games.
i don't know why, but i love dbz kakarot more than any other dragonball game. i lost my interest in dragonball years ago, never had anything to do with dragonball since a long time, loved it as a child. every now and then when new dbz games came out, i bought them cheap and thought, maybe its not so bad. i never liked most of the dragonball games after tenkaichi 3 (which was great!), i really really disliked xenoverse for some reason.
db z kakarot got me back into dragonball and for the very first time i might start watching dragonball super afterwards. i couldn't quite connect with dragonball super before.
Glad to know I didn't buy this game saving up for either code vein or the up coming avengers game.
Or fall of babylon
Also buy Doom eternal
@@grimmy6126 hell yeah
Did you know Code Vein is just like Dark Souls?
@@grimmy6126
Got ds3 82 complete and hoping for a demon soul's remastered like chase the bro or prod
(My early comment was google voice recorded which am starting to fucking hate)
Lol the summary of this review
Haven't bought the game yet and honestly the only thing I'm on the fence about is that..I don't really artificial difficulty all too much. Level systems are fine but I don't like it when it's too dependant on it and the ai are just easy..weak.
EternalStorm796 just depends on how stacked it is the ai will whoop your ass sometimes
Ótima review como sempre! Parabéns!
I just started playing it again after the new dlc dropped and I’m like 39 hours in and I love it
It just doesn’t make sense to me
Chichi is a lot nicer in this game during the early arcs than the anime
The biggest difficulty I’ve had so far is fighting those lvl 185’s. It’s ridiculously difficult, especially with an 80 level gap. They key is krillin.
And tien since he can also use it
Riptor le raptor I usually don’t use both. Krillin for stagger and a second attack assist for faster stun break.
