- How to Make a Flannel Burp Cloth - Step by Step Tutorial, Part 1 of 2...
In this video I am sharing how I create flannel burp cloths. I’ve been sewing these for years and they are not only quick, but also fun to make as well.
I want everyone to be able to sew these adorable burp cloths, even if you are a beginner to sewing. So I included all the information, details and a bunch of helpful tips to get you started. :)
To make 2 burp cloths you will need 1 yard of cotton flannel, thread, and a sewing machine.
Please wash your flannel at least one time, or even two times, before cutting it. The flannel will shrink a lot!!! Also, clean out the lint trap on your dryer after drying it because it will shed quite a bit.
I hope you can imagine me sitting next to you cheering you on as you sew these. Let me know if you have any questions! And please “Like” and subscribe!!!
Be blessed, friends!!!

I love this pattern and I have been making them for my new grandbaby. I wash & dry my flannel, I iron it and smooth it out. No matter what I do my seams down the middle always has a little hanging over like it stretched. I have increased my presser foot pressure and I have l decreased my presser foot pressure. Nothing works. What am I doing wrong.
If your sewing maching does not have differential feed, use a walking foot to stitch both pieces of fabric evenly.
@tyeroy2530 thank you. I tried a walking foot and it did much better.
Hi! Congratulations on your new grand baby! I am so glad you are enjoying making these! I’m sorry you are having an issue. Do you have a walking foot for your sewing machine? That works the best. What happens with the thicker fabrics is the top layer doesn’t move through the machine at the same speed as the bottom layer and that makes the fabric shift a bit. The walking foot feeds them through evenly. If I have another thought for you I will come back and share it. In the meantime, thank you so much for watching and leaving me a note. And I know you are enjoying the grand baby!!! Blessings!!! ❤️
@CindyJohnson I did try the walking foot and it worked. Thanks
@@erikacollazo8238 I am so glad the walking foot worked well for you! Thank you for letting me know. Take care and keep sewing! Blessings!!! ❤️
What is the finished measurement of the cloth?
It is approximately 14” x 17”. Thank you for asking. Have a blessed day!!! ❤️
That looks like more than one yard.
For each burp cloth I cut the flannel 18” x 42”. So I’m able to get 2 burp cloths out of a yard of flannel. Thanks for watching and commenting. Blessings!!! ❤️
