Hi! I've had a few friends ask me how I make crochet dishcloths so I created this easy-to-follow video to share with them. I thought I would share it with you too! Even if you've never crocheted before I think you'll be able to follow along just fine. The pattern is written out below. Let me know if you have any questions or comments. Thanks!!! ~Cindy Find me at: My website: www.sewblessedcindy...
I just found you and I'm so grateful that I did! You're a wonderful teacher and helped me learn to make this towel topper. I've subbed to your channel and will watch your previous videos. Many thanks! MaryAnne in New Mexico USA
I am so glad you found the information helpful!!! Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave me such a kind and generous comment!!! Blessings to you!!! ❤️
Beginner here and I finally got the question in my mind answered about counting the last chain. You do not count the chain on the hook when counting your foundation chain. Thanks!!!
I am so glad you found the information helpful!!! Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave me such a kind comment!!! Blessings!!! ❤️
Thanks for the trick of pulling the ball of yarn through the slip stich 🧶💚
You are so welcome! I love little tips and techniques that make our hobbies easier. Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave me a kind comment! Blessings!!! ❤️
I must’ve missed where you said what the inside material is
This is such an excellent tutorial so I thank you very much. You have taken the time and care to show your work and explain so thoroughly. I have learned so much today and I feel confident that I will have success. Thank you!
Yes. Right-handed people do turn clockwise, and Left-handed people turn counter-clockwise.
That makes sense! Thank you for watching and for taking the time to share a helpful comment! Blessings! ❤️
Pro Tip: Without removing the label, look at the front of your skein. Place your right hand fingers in the center hole. You will always find the end there. The manufacturer hides the end on the right hand side, because most people are right-handed. However, if you are left-handed, as I am, you should always still pull from the right, because that is where the end is. This works for me every time.
Great! Thank you so much for sharing this helpful hint! And thank you for watching! I appreciate it! Blessings! ❤️
I crochetv the whole border in single crochet and it look neater and finished😊❤
Wonderful! I am so glad it worked out well for you! Thank you for taking the time to leave me a kind comment! Blessings to you! ❤️
Everything about this video was perfect. Easy to understand, clear audio and the tips about slowing down and taking our time were such helpful reminders. Would you be willing to share the process of the wash clothes you crochet? What weight fabrics, brands you enjoy and the actual sizing of washcloth itself? And even whether or not you use the same pattern. Thank you so much for your video. It was a game changer for my crochet journey. God bless you!!!
Excellent tutorial. I have never seen a burp cloth made like this, except adding diapers. This is far cuter and less expensive. Thanks for sharing your clever lesson.
I am so glad you found it helpful! I really enjoy making these burp cloths and flannel comes in so many adorable colors and prints now. Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave me such a kind comment! Blessings!!! ❤️

Why does these washcloths smell so bad after one day of use in the morning I get up it stinks really bad ? Any suggestions ?
Hmmm, I don’t know. Mine don’t smell and I have made and used them for many years. Maybe it’s the yarn you are using? I’m really not sure. But I do hope you are able to figure it out. Thank you for watching and commenting! Blessings! ❤️
Love the way you do a tutorial you tell everything and show as well
Oh, thank you so much! I am so glad you found it helpful! Thank you for watching and for taking the time to leave me such a lovely note! Blessings to you! ❤️

The video I just watched I was wondering what the stitch is called? I love the stitch very much! Your tutorial is very easy to follow..thank you.
You are so welcome! And I am sorry for the late reply. I am not sure of the name of this stitch. I spent a long time researching it a few years back, yet I never found an actual stitch name. If I ever do, I will let you know. Thank you so much for watching though. And for taking the time to leave me such a kind message! Blessings to you! ❤️
The edging is good but I think it might not work with the edging in some patterns.
Hi! You may be right, it just depends on the pattern. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave me a comment. Blessings! ❤️
I keep losing my place and hook keeps getting stuck
Oh, I’m so sorry! It does get easier as you get used to holding the hook and yarn. I hope you were able to finish it. Blessings! ❤️

It's so hard I cried over
Oh, I’m so sorry! It can be tricky to learn how to hold the hook and yarn but then it does get easier. I hope you were able to try again. Blessings to you! ❤️
I made twelve of these as a gift for a family member. After the baby came I was informed that these burp cloths are far superior to other burp cloths the parents had received. Thanks for the pattern!
You are so welcome! I am so glad the parents like the burp cloths, and that you took the time to make them to bless this precious baby! That makes me so happy! Thank you for taking the time also to leave me such a kind comment! Blessings! ❤️

When you do the corner and you so 3, do you put your 3 stitches in the same hole?
Good question! Yes, I put three stitches into each corner hole so that it creates a nice turn around the corner. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching and for asking the question. I hope you enjoying making edges on dishcloths. Blessings!!! ❤️
Appreciate your kindness thank you for showing us how to make these.so cute
You are so welcome!!! Thank you for watching and for taking the time to leave me such a kind note!!! Blessings to you!!! ❤️
Hi! Just saw your tutorial. I made one! I was wondering what the final dimensions were on yours. Mine looks 7.5 x 7.5 inches. Does that sound about right.
Hi! Yes, I just measured all of mine and they are all either 7.5” x 7.5” or 7.75” x 7.75”. So I think yours is perfect!!! Great job!!! Thanks so much for watching my video!!! Blessings to you!!! ❤️
Thank you, Cindy! After 30 years I'm finally getting back into crocheting and am absolutely loving it. Your videos are so easy to follow!! Looking forward to many more crochet projects...with your guidance!!

😊where did you get those scissors?❤
Hi! These scissors are Gingher scissors and they are called blunt-tipped, rounded, pocket scissors. Or something similar. Some people call them kindergarten scissors. They are nice because they do not have a sharp tip. I use them quite often. I hope that helps. Blessings!!! ❤️
😮❤ why aren’t you doing more crochet videos 😢
Thank you so much! I hope to make more videos soon. I stay pretty busy taking care of my family and also as a homeopath helping people improve their emotional health and well-being. But I do enjoy making videos as well, to share my love of handwork. Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave me a kind note!!! Blessings to you! ❤️

Thank you, Cindy. Making some for wedding gifts.
Wonderful! I’m so glad you are making some to share with others! That is so thoughtful and generous! And thank you for taking the time to leave me a kind note! Blessings!!! ❤️
You might consider pulling the yarn from the center. Pulling from the side as you are causes the strands or plys to unwind. That is what causes the thin parts of the yarn. Hope it is ok to say this. Been crocheting and knitting for 60 years. Learned this in a class .
Thank you for sharing! Yes, that is the better way, but sometimes it is tricky to find the end that pulls from the center. So I try to just make it work either way. Enjoy crocheting!!! Blessings!!! ❤️
Love it but nothing on how many rows
Hi! In the video I mention how to make the square even without counting rows. I think that makes it easier than counting rows as I go. But you could easily count rows on one you make and then record that number so you have it for further knowledge. Thanks for watching and commenting. Blessings! ❤️
Thank you for this tutorial❣️ I like to make unique dishcloths/washcloths as gifts & I have searched TH-cam for them & found a few. I find a lot of people who crochet pretty coasters with beautiful edgings of leaves & flowers & I wish they would make them a little bigger so I could make them the size of a dishcloth. I know how to increase the circle but I don’t know how many stitches I need around to make the edging come out right…😂
That’s so fun! I have made a bunch of different dishcloths in the past too. But these are the ones I always come back to. I enjoy how fun they are to crochet. Thank you so much for watching and leaving me such a kind message! Blessings to you! ❤️
Thank you for this tutorial❣️ I like making & gifting unique dishcloths/washcloths & whenever I’d put a single crochet border around it I’d just wing it & it never looked as nice as these❣️ I will definitely be trying this method next time & im also going to make your dishcloth as well. I have been searching TH-cam for unique shaped & flower & hexagon shaped dishcloths & only found a few. Hoping those who are better than I am will make more unique dishcloths/washcloths. Appreciate your help my friend. Blessings 🙋🏻♀️🦋
Oh I’m glad you found this helpful! Let me know if you try it and what you think. Take care and thank you for the kind note! Blessings! ❤️

Love this burp cloth.
I am so glad! I really enjoy making them too! Thank you so much for watching and for leaving me such a kind comment! Blessings!!! ❤️
I love this pattern and I have been making them for my new grandbaby. I wash & dry my flannel, I iron it and smooth it out. No matter what I do my seams down the middle always has a little hanging over like it stretched. I have increased my presser foot pressure and I have l decreased my presser foot pressure. Nothing works. What am I doing wrong.
If your sewing maching does not have differential feed, use a walking foot to stitch both pieces of fabric evenly.
@tyeroy2530 thank you. I tried a walking foot and it did much better.
Hi! Congratulations on your new grand baby! I am so glad you are enjoying making these! I’m sorry you are having an issue. Do you have a walking foot for your sewing machine? That works the best. What happens with the thicker fabrics is the top layer doesn’t move through the machine at the same speed as the bottom layer and that makes the fabric shift a bit. The walking foot feeds them through evenly. If I have another thought for you I will come back and share it. In the meantime, thank you so much for watching and leaving me a note. And I know you are enjoying the grand baby!!! Blessings!!! ❤️
@CindyJohnson I did try the walking foot and it worked. Thanks
@@erikacollazo8238 I am so glad the walking foot worked well for you! Thank you for letting me know. Take care and keep sewing! Blessings!!! ❤️
