This video is like a love letter to the earlier era of the internet when regular people would create a character or series and thrive. It's sad to me that it's mostly disappeared these days, replaced by an ocean of short, cheaply done videos... and it also means that much more when a gem like this is released. Thank you for your hard work over the years Pat.
Pat I've been watching you since the lady in spandex was domming you. I've emailed you with a question and you were super friendly. And I sometimes watch your twitch stream to relive the nostalgia of the 80s/90s. Thanks for making the internet a better place!
Perfect timing! Glad I could be here, congrats on 15 years Pat! Makes me feel my age. Still got the first DVD set and Pat the NES Punk wrist band that came with it. Love ya man.
I put off gaming for a long time (for many reasons), you’re one of the people who got me re hooked into Collection and gaming. You’re efforts don’t go unseen. Now I just need to buy your books.
Pat, I can never forget you! In fact, I wish you made more review videos cause your videos are always fun and enlightening! Not to mention you and the Nerd were the guys I started watching when I first got on TH-cam, which was around the time you started
Im 37 years old I have been watching you periodically since the beginning. Good on you to never sell out your initial vision. You and James together is the best. I still pop by Cinemassacre as well
Didn't realize I wasn't subbed (how odd). Thanks for doing this for so many years Pat, and thanks for showing support to what I do over the years. You're a huge part of this community and undoubtedly an inspiration to 100s of thousands. Also, thanks for buying my daughter's door hangers at Long Island Retro!
Thanks for those 15 years, I know you put time money and effort on those videos but they are great. I have watched every single Pat Nes Punk episode more than once. Again thank you.
Fun fact Pat : Belgians and Frenches had a strange fascination about not so accurate US history like Lucky Luke, Blueberry and many others... North and South was a huge critical and commercial success over here in France.
Not only in France; have been collecting this comic since i was about 7-8. That is 35 years ago! Still think it is hilarious but also educational and pretty much anti-war.
Perfect timing happened as a I was watching. I had music playing, and right when AVGN said “speaking of obsolete, I wonder what Pat’s been up to” and the scene cut back to Pat looking dejected, Operation Spirit by Live started playing “did you give it up, did you give it up, did you give up”. It matched up so perfectly with the video.
I'll never forget you, Pat. I won a digital copy of a certain NES guidebook at a convention once during one of your video game challenges. It was the highlight of my day!
Thank you so much Pat! The years of content you have given us is a wonderful contribution in all the knowledge you have about NES games and video games in general I along with the rest of us, never knew about growing up. Keep up the amazing content!
I think it's because the era of the NES was a time of simplicity, and excitement. A time where everything felt as if you were LIVING in nostalgia. Rather than reminiscing. It's a reminder of how things used to be. Where you appreciated anything and everything, and was just happy to be alive. And that alone can never die. It'll never go away. You can't stop that train. It's a strong, passionate part of our culture and livelihood. Even into old age, we'll forever love our classics. You can never go wrong, and theirs nothing wrong with what you're doing. You'll always stay relevant. You're embedded into that nostalgia. Programmed into our subconscious. Now, whenever we think of retro's, you're tied into it. Whether you like it or love it lol. Happy 15th Anniversary Pat and Frank!!!❤️❤️❤️
North & South is still one of my favorite NES games. I loved it for being a Romance of The Three Kingdoms/Nobunaga's Ambition(ish) style game based on a period of American history that created a large part of my family. Thank you for taking the time to mention this game.
Thank you Pat, Ian, and Frank. I remember when I first saw your videos all those years ago, along with AVGN. And I was super stoked to actually see somebody else out there like me and it made me feel warm and happy. For the 1st time I actually felt like I wasn't alone in my nerdy world. I've also been thru a lot of drama thru these years and I can always rely on your videos to take my mind off of the worlds problems. So truly thank you for all the hard work you've done. Here's to another 15 years 🎉😊
Great vid pat, miss seeing you on TH-cam regularly, been watching for about 11years since I found you through agvn, so was great to see a cameo in this vid. Congrats to 15yrs. Shout out to Frank and Ian!
Congrats on 15 years of and thanks for all the fun, education, inspiration, and everything else :) I think that I've been subscribed to your channel since around 2009 or something like that :) I love that you still do these occasionally :D I wish you all the best!
Of all the game review channels, nerd and pat are the only 2 I still watch. I wish pat the nes punk videos were more frequent cuz I love the content and that's why I'm subscribed, but I understand he has his reasons and his other projects. I'll just say I was thrilled to find this in my feed today
Just unwinding, having fun and learning about our past along the way. That's what it's always been about. And sometimes that's enough to help people at the end of the day. Give them a laugh so we can keep going to work and pursuing our passions. Thanks pat and every one else that's helped you along the way!
Thanks for continuing to do these! These videos always bring a smile to my face, and I've found quite a few little gems to add to my own collection thanks to you. Congrats on 15 years!
This is old school lol. I watched pat 15 years ago in middle school, then grew up and did my thing, and just now I found this video. Its full circle and still as good as it used to be. Still want his book too will look into it next payday.
I’m watching this late and woke up to Pat staring back at me. Then suddenly go into reviewing the next game like he was waiting for me to wake the hell up so he could continue. It was just bizarre and I honestly thought I dreamed the whole thing until I rewatched the video to see what I missed.
Love your videos. I'll be honest, I've been subbed for 8 years and your videos only show up every now and then. Great video and I'll try and do better and see your new content and watch your old stuff when I get a minute.
For what it's worth I appreciate it. Every now and again I put on the whole playlist. And my mom used to drive me to the flea market all the time and I hated it probably because I didn't have any money but I even caught myself watching flea market Madness quite a bit haha. Thanks for the many years and for Frank. Cheers
Well damn it, Frank is right about Instagram being bullshit. Thanks for making these for 15 years (so far). It's been fun so far and I look forward to your next bout of silliness.
Just realized how confusing the Loops bit will be for anyone that didn’t see the review lmao. Thanks for all your effort over the years, man. Punk vids are my favorite bit of your content, tbh. Still the best game reviews on the platform imo. Your books, though, are second to none. Still being used as my buying guides lol. Keep on rocking, my brother, in the name of armpit magic.
Pat I haven't watched you in a long time life got crazy but I came back and it's nice to see you're not trying to be something you're not keep it up we need this more than ever
Ninja crusaders has always been one of my favorite nes games, so underrated in my opinion. It was pretty hard tho. As was North and South. Such a great game!
That was awesome mate, great to see ya again doin what ya do best :) As we get older we sometimes question what we've been doing over the past decades and where it was all going. The classic answer is of course, 'The journey is more important than the destination'. So here's to another 15 years of pat and all the great video game reviewers out there!
I remember playing NINJA CRUSADERS. I dug the morphing into animals, and curiously, I converted into the scorpion almost non-stop. It was one of those games a kid in the neighborhood got as a gift, and we managed to play it, either by temporary exchange or in their house.
Probably Pat's best video in quite awhile. It's good and he didn't seem to be forcing his character. Anyways, always love your videos and hope to keep seeing more soon! You can always review the SEGA :D
I thought this was far below his Normal quality. Rehashed content to fill out the video, lacking substance and thought to why he chose specific games. Felt like he phoned this one in.
I love your Pat the NES punk videos Pat. I binge watch your original episodes from time to time. I've mentioned this before , as a fan of avgn, I always enjoyed your videos and humor more than his. And I found your videos more funny without the need of unnecessary cursing and toilet humor. I'm not sure if you would still read this, but in case you do..I like to love to see a modern your game collection videos/series but in the same style and humor as the original pat the NES punk "my NES collection" series Also I encourage you do the longer intro with that song like in earlier videos, as they are very uplifting and set a really happy tone and exciting anticipation for the episode ahead Also, Don't underestimate how much your videos entertain and lift people's moods Pat. So Thankyou again for your uplifting classic style Pat the NES punk/flea market madnesses which has helped during hard times. So keep up the good work!! 👍👍 Hope that helps !! P.s you haven't aged 1 day either from since your started, you may have few grays and if you dyed your hair black you can still pass as a 29y.o.- most of us 40 y.os lose their hair so I'm jealous of how well you aged Take care Pat 👍✌️
NINJA CRUSADERS! I played that game as a kid and thought it was super cool because of the animal transformations. I have attempted to find it off and on for years, and could never figure out the name of the freaking game! Thank you!
