    I've had the AXS dropper for exactly a year now and it has been great. This includes lots of winter riding on snow/ice. I found it to perform flawlessly in cold weather which cannot be said about most other droppers. No noticeable battery life degradation from what I have noticed. The lack of wires makes it easier and faster to swap it with a rigid post or just remove it to fit in the car.
    Recently it developed a few millimeters of squish and I had the opportunity of using the bleed value and that process was super easy and took 5 mins total. My favourite part about it the speed of actuation and release. The mouse click-esque remote's short throw makes it feel like a paddle shift vs clutch (with former being faster overall). Also paired with AXS drivetrain, nothing beats a clean cockpit with just two brake hoses. Let's just not talk about the price though ;) "it's a fitness expense"

      @@LoveMTB I think I jinxed it because after a recent ride I found 4 deep and 2 light gouges on the stanchion. Upon disassembling it I found the gouges lining up with the brass key channels. The rear of the post had the deep gouges while the front of the post had the lighter ones. Somehow the post grinded against those channels. My theory is that the brass keys wore out really fast and caused play which led to this damage. Sending it in for warranty and hoping they will replace the stanchion :( Rigid post till then. I highly recommend staying on top of this post's maintenance intervals which are pretty straight forward. I had just about 200 hours on it too and I ride in a relatively clean environment (Durham)

      @@sgtkurry Yes they did. They initially wanted to repair it but since there were no parts they sent a brand new post. The root cause was the top nut backing out and the stanchion sliding on the key channels. Always keep an eye on the nut and make sure it is snug.

    I'm glad you don't think dropper sag is normal. Sram really has some nerve saying 5mm is acceptable (mine was more like 15mm). It was a happy day when I got rid of my Reverb. Also, I watch a ton of bike videos and just realized how many are from LoveMTB. Great work man!

      Agreed that anything more than 1mm sag is too much. Any sag takes away from the mis - advertised drop rating.

    Nice review! I will be looking at this when - and hopefully if, my Magura Vyron v2.0 post dies. I was worried when you showed the vibration noise as that would've been an absolute deal breaker for me. I'm hoping that Magura will update the Vyron as SRAM's asking price is borderline obscene and I can't imagine going back to a cable post... I was at Snowshoe last week and it was awesome!

    This part is the only wireless stuff that I considered using on my enduro bike. But after your video, I'm a bit confused by the noise and seg. Anyway, I don't really think it is worth the money. At least I know a couple of parts of my bike which worth upgrading earlier than the dropper post.
    But was quite interesting to watch. Your reviews are awesome as usual! Thank you very much.

    My 3 months old axs reverb dropper just developed an issue. The dropper get stuck in compress mode. Worse when fully compress. I can hear the servo trying to "open a catch". Eventually it releases the dropper to full height. Im annoyed with this post. Ive been treating it with care and no crashes. Now I have to wait for the bike company to reply on what to do next.

    Any issues when you bottom out on jumps hitting your rear wheel? Seth illustrated that happening to him, but he's still using it so I'm guessing it can't be that big a deal. Expensive but I'd use on two bikes, and I like being able to remove and clean without having to reattach the cable everytime.

    Hi, thanks! I'm wondering to set it up to my Farley. 440 length is very close to my max range and you said about 6cm stack. Is it so that it's then 500? I'm there within millimeters then in my range :-) I need to be sure about the total length. Edit, I found it from technical spec. With the 150mm travel I can have minimum exposed seatpost length 215.

    I've been luv'n my GX AXS shifting on my E-mtb. Precision shifting with a high torque motor. Not a Sram guy, but AXS eagle genius maybe an apt description. Willing to explore the dropper too, holy sh$$, the 💸. Plus, I've had rail clamp problems on my beloved Fox Transfer '21. (I have the updated clamp plate too!). Looks like it's worth the investment. I'm just going to have sell a kidney to afford it!😅. But security concerns. Only positive left about the mechanical dropper is it's harder to steal? Let me know if I'm wrong please...😇

    • @tomcagle5324
      @tomcagle5324 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LoveMTB maybe. On Transfer issue, nah, the saddle rail stills slips in the clamp even with loctite (red)...the t-bolts are a cool idea and allow angular access, but lack sheer strength. Too thin and brittle and snap with minimal torque. So, I just gave up and put my older Transfer '18 on with a traditional clamp. Problem solved! No need now for the AXS dropper. Need a nice cheaper '21 Transfer?😉

    • @tomcagle5324
      @tomcagle5324 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On theft vulnerability: controllers $100 to replace not a priority item compared to an $840 dropper and $500 rear mech... at least the mech has the chain that's harder/slower to remove. The highest end item with just a quick clamp bolt....and gone in seconds rather than minutes. Just keep'n it real.
      One big AXS con besides cost/theft, the main function of a dropper: is to lower CG as much as possible: my Transfer and OneUp V2 dropper have a much lower stack height on the seat tube for sitting lower in the cockpit. So, given the costs and reliability, with lower stack height, and less theft vulnerability, I think I'm ok with my AXS drivetrain and wired dropper. Just not an optimal option for me, otherwise still genius for those with 💸💸💸 to spend. 😇

    If it is possible to easily rebuild it so it will function like a normal wired option, that would be a great feature because you never know when these electronics may fail on you. Personally I'm all for fail safing things, and it shouldn't be all that hard to make it possible to attach a wire at the bottom of this.
    That being said I have no need for anything electronic for a bicycle, because you will be pretty much be screwed when those fail. Mechanical things you can fix. I also like the feel of mechanical things a lot better.
