After I will scrap XT cassette I will instal SRAM again.
Most of these are dumb, no benefit to running these combinations. But in an offhand 5 second comment you said the most important thing without knowing it; that unfortunately you can’t use a Transmission cassette with UDH. If you could then a X01 mechanical could be run with Transmission cassette and chain. The cassette/chain interface is what makes Transmission shift so well.
You can sand 2.5mm off the inside face of the UDH (from the portions that don't contact anything anyways). That creates enough clearance for the transmission small cog & chain. Just did this, works great!

Good to know. What's the lure of T-Type then if shifting is the same?🙄
And where did you get a 0.8 mm spacer for the freehub?
@@LoveMTB there is benefits ,but not with shifting itself as its the same mechanism like older Sram Eagle AXS .. removing hanger makes things stiffer and it shifts better under load ,new cassette steps are better too ,bigger rollers - dont know ,maybe has some advantage .. but waiting for the ramps to shift - this is all marketing as it shifts instant when button pressed ,even without rear wheel installed .. about the spacer - its custom made ,and i picked the width so i can change the wheels without microadjust every time
@@alexanderivanov6920 I hear you, thanks for sharing.
@@alexanderivanov6920 And BTW this is how we slice through the SRAM marketing propaganda lol
As new t type cassette is 2.5 mm more outboard in regard to old eagle cassettes gravel and road cassettes with xdr drivers should work theoretically (on drop bar bikes) as xdr is 2.5 mm more outboard in regard to XD drivers. Has anyone tried it? Thanks
@@martinadamboon6254 got to get my hands on a XDR driver to try but you might be correct!?
@LoveMTB let us know!
@ will do. Don’t think it’s going to make a difference though, just saying. Would prob need 2 spacers to start with etc. Will let you know
This is all fine and dandy and I’m not being a jerk but if you look at the new transmissions, they designed to work under load with all these modifications and going to cheap man route you’re going to destroy something…😂 I can shift going uphill under full load and it’s very smooth I would not try this mixing hardware.. also why are you risking your warranty on anything really. I don’t know. I just seem to think that things are designed to work the way that they’re designed to work.
I've been trying things like this for the last 6 years or so, check my older videos on 12 speed. One is here - GX AXS install (with a twist) - th-cam.com/video/_V83_bMeHgQ/w-d-xo.html
I do not suggest anyone doing it but you see in the comments that a lot of people try it.
Its working with Shimano M8100 cassette - th-cam.com/users/shortsbRq0_otSkT8?si=qsYTJpKSGlIQgLoA
The wheel will spin, the chain will stay on the cassette, yes. But similar to XD driver that Micro Spline was designed pretty tight there is no 2 mm slop in the assembly for the extra 2mm spacer
@ well. How is working on video is without modification but its on limit - no possibility to make micro adjustment. After I have modified end cup - I have grinding off 1.5mm what gave me nice window for adjustment. Since April everything works very well. I am using this Shimano XT cassette because I am using it with 7 chains. I am changing chain every 600km. Cassette have currently 5700km. All chains are still OK. After I will scrap XT cassette I will instal SRAM again.
@@jaroslavruszo Thanks for sharing, interesting setup
You look like normal Macdonald
Nope! thats all I needed! I will now be looking for the bashguard chainring for me bike! Yes, I have bashed my regular chainring plenty!
I'm not trying any of this personally since I'll avoid T-type like plague but it's very interesting to know 😊
@@LaurentiusTriarius I hear you 😎
Why? The T Type works so much better than AXS (XX1) shifting under load. Depends on your riding type - I, for instance fight day to day for XC KOM's.
@@systemsbroken because we have Shimano 12s? 😇
