I like how this transformation isn’t framed as heroic or triumphant. But something forced and monstrous. These are two incomplete monsters that are battling for the right of the rings. That’s what I get from this battle.
Sonic is still heroic and determined to defeat ALWLA (short version) but he is much more aggressive, angry and straight up brutal. He’s still Sonic but more negative.
Yeah, even as a kid, I could feel how raw and brutal this fight was. The rage and sorrow were especially poignant after Shara's death (I could feel Sonic's grief). Plus the way both of their bodies are forcefully mutated is so atypical for a standard "good vs evil" fight.
Alf layla wa-Layla has 4 of the seven rings he has joy, pleasure, wishes and preyers that why he’s incomplete, while sonic has rage, hatred and sadness rings that’s why he’s called darkspine

I always wondered how Sonic was able to fight a nearly all powerful Genie amplified by 4 World Rings, then it hit me. In Sonic Forces, Sonic says he gets more powerful every second. Combine this reactive evolution with the power of the 3 world rings and his power slowly rises over the course of his battle with Erazor, hence his surprised shout "Argh! How can you have this power?!"
Erazor isn't seen as the rightful owner of the rings as he didn't collect them, the 3 Sonic has are being used to full capacity while Erazor's 4 are nerfed.

My favorite Sonic game and favorite game of all time Sonic's character is so good and the soundtrack is a banger.Darkspine Sonic is my favorite transformation cause the design and Sonic feels like a actual god the ending Sonic is actually a hero and he's mad at Erazor Djinn for trying to ruin the world of the Arabian Nights and calling him a rat this is the best Sonic game ever in my opinion
