    Hey man great videos digging em. I'm new to hitting the tubs and I'm working on a 6" pad. When I'm in traditional grip I notice my right hand is more on top and the left below when I hit the pad is that correct or do they equal usually? Does that make any sense? My right stick hits higher on the pad pretty much

    • @JeffRandallDrumming
      @JeffRandallDrumming  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Zak, thanks bud! Just FYI, all my gear is listed in the description box. And I've done a couple of recording and mixing videos in the past that'll address some of those questions. There's one called "How To Start Recording & Mixing Drums" that you might like. But yeah, an updated video would be cool! The mic placement in this video was one overhead, a kick and snare mic, and one mic placed directly over the kick drum facing the batter side kick drum head to give me some attack from the kick. Hope that helps man, stay well.

  • @JohnnyBeatmann
    @JohnnyBeatmann 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Really nice. But I love the slightly more complex kick drum beat - it's like when you learn how to program "enter hello world and just do this and that and voila you have skyrim"

    • @JeffRandallDrumming

      It's similar for sure! Paradiddles alternate in the same kind of way. But these stickings sound a bit more funky and organic when used with grooves in my opinion. :)
