Jeff, you just make the best content for drummers, bar none. For any drummer who actually plays consistently in a band, your content speaks directly to the real day-to-day challenges we face. Yours should be the #1 drumming channel on TH-cam. Thanks for making the videos you do, because nobody else is doing it, consistently.
Jeff’s TH-cam channel has become one of my top educational resources for learning online. Although I work and teach in a different field, learning drums with him has been an incredible educational experience.
Your lessons are great. The internet is full of stuff that teaches "something" but then you have no idea how to apply it. I'm definitely thinking about starting a paid subscription with you. Cheers from Poland!
You really are one of the best drum channels on YT. I'm not even a drummer (yet!), but your content has largely motivated me to get started, buying a kit before the end of the year!
I am really glad your back at it, really glad Jeff, your too talented my friend, great video. I have a question are you using like 12 or 8 strand wires on your snare, it sounds great but I am wondering the count?
My ekit is disassembled packed away waiting on the move coming up, my drumming reduced to practice pad for now but I'll have a great Playlist for when i have it back up and running
Very nice! Could you do a video how to include splash cymbals in fills? There is not much helpful on youtube and i like to play metal and find it adds a really unique feature to the fill
Splash is a short, bright sound; throw it in on off beats where it's not expected. Check out how people use crunch stacks in fills - splashes will usually work in the way. I also like to use them as a subtle accent to signal a shift in the verse or the start of a new section when a full crash would be excessive.
Oooh, this reminds me of an idea about something I wanted to ask for a long time ago, I feel like as a beginner my taste in music maybe is not that developed, but I can already tell that I love fills that are done purely or almost purely on cymbals, so no toms, snare or kick. Like in Bonobo's track - Silver (love that groove btw, but not sure if its played on real drums), I think there is an example of those, if I am catching it right. Is it possible to do some videos on that? Or is this type of context actually non-existent?

Every time I feel stuck with my drum playing your videos help me to improve and get more fluency around the kit. Thanks!
Great snare sounds Jeff! Nice fills! My kind of fills.
Просто бери и выучивай! - Отличная подборка сбивок, особенно для тех, у кого плохо с фантазией!!!)))

damn, that last one! So much to learn, thank you Jeff!
This resource is amazing!
Unreal. I can't read a note, that part makes me anxious. But I love hearing your playing.
I really only learn from you . N that’s saying a lot . Thank you !!
I have an appreciation of everything you played but I found out I really love syncopated fills
This is so helpful, thank you!
You’re amazing thank you so much

It’s good to be back! Honestly I had no idea. Just checked and it’s around 19 strands.
Amazing fills, super creative! 🤩
I see some lewitt mics in there.. can you share your mic configuration.? Kit sounds killer!!!!
legendary one
Nice variables. I noticed a second floor tom tucked behind you and couldn't tell if you were utilizing it?
The second floor has been relegated to essentially a table. It’s a tale as old as time.
@@JeffRandallDrumming Buddy Rich did the same thing. His held his towel.
@@JeffRandallDrumming weren't they called cocktail drums years ago?

top quality
Jeff man these are nasty, definitely gonna practice these
You’ve always had such a great sounding setup. Mind sharing what you’re working with?
Thanks, what details are you looking for?
@@JeffRandallDrumming what kit you have and cymbals you play?
Heh. Based on the headline, I thought you were going to explore different ways to hit a crash cymbal. This is a much better idea. 🙂
Linaer 4 is from Rope solo:-)
Nice

Just the first fill is an example of what you’re talking about but you could certainly create a bunch more.
What sizes of drums do you use ?
🥁🔝
Stark🤘
Can these bring new style solos?
Absolutely. There’s a lot of tools for creating solos within these examples.
