Thoroughly impressed there George. You're right to be pleased and just sit and look. Cheers.
Cheers, I feel like I’ve been too negative recently so wanted a change
I'm afraid I find this a difficult watch. Not because of the exceptional content, that’s a given. Nor a fear of discerning digits drilled by Dremel. Rather I keep thinking of Monty Python's "How to recognise different types of trees from quite a long way away" and hear voices in my head repeatedly saying "Number one. The larch. The larch". I can't wait for the horse chestnut episode.
Maybe I need to get the guys to run commentary over my videos 😂
That was the first thing I thought of ….
“The Larch”
Very nice trees most realistic, great work as we always expect .
Thanks, glad you think so
Tree- Mendous George. Big step on from the Larch on Corris and the green scene bark paste works very well. Would the process be quicker if you used your spray booth turntable when spraying the trees? You get a lot of overspray so I just thought that if you had several on a small piece of wood pre drilled with a several holes you can spray several at a time on the turntable? This same jig could be used over and over for the hairspray stage as well? Anyway maybe it’s not appropriate as an idea. As regards bracken the model railway Dulas (009 railway of month railway modeller October 99 ) used coconut fibres effectively. Sold as hanging basket liner. Glad your positivity has returned which should never go away. Inspiring to all who watch your channel and how you progress so well within a busy life. Cheers…
Number 1 ... The Larch
Took some doing, this one!
@GWilliamsonModels probably one of my all time favourite Monty python sketches that was. Your trees look great... How will you do the bushes and scrubs? Seafoam is awful quality ATM 👍
@ been a while since I’ve seen a Monty Python, might re watch soon.
I’ll probably use my technique of poly fibre with leaf scatters, they seem to come out the best
@GWilliamsonModels yeh great. I need to look at that leaf scatter. hellofresh deliveries come with a free supply of poly fibre btw, just needs a green spray paint and you can create endless supply's

These are a definite improvement over Corrish. I had my doubts when you started but you have convinced me. One tip for you. To taper the tree trunk sand it down turning the trunk with one hand whilst sanding with the other.
I was wondering if there was any mileage in doing that with the skewer held in the chuck of the Dremel?
Yes good idea, I guess that’s almost a mini lathe
Reading the comments, I’m glad I’m not the only one whose first thought was Monty Python. The trees do look great. I hope the room was well ventilated when you were spraying the hairspray, those fumes can get a bit noxious. Thanks for another informative video
Yes I did, and had to give everything a wipe down aswell!
It’s getting sooo good now
Cheers mate, yeah it’s starting to come together
@ can’t wait to see it all done
I just wish I had your talent and patience!
I honestly don’t understand how I manage it with the attention span I have!
Practice practice and practice again. Good thing about this hobby is there is always something to learn and improve.
Great larch George. 👍 "Moss only grows on the north side of the trunk" ..... Oh yeah? Not in damp shaded areas it doesn't!
Any guidelines for brackens at some point please? If there's one plant I associate with pretty much everywhere in these islands, it's bracken.
Exactly, rules don’t apply when it never dries up!
I’m still trying to work out how to go about bracken, as there’s a large area left for it in front of these larch.
It’ll most likely be similar to the ferns, but dead
Interesting technique, George 👍.
Cheers mate
Brilliant work 👏🏻
Cheers!
Great video again. Trouble is now I have too many ideas in my head….
Tell me about it 😪
No Lathe but could you put one in a drill held in a vice and use a sanding stick to shape it.
Yes I need to try that
The glue has forgotten its job! Classic! Happens to me all the time…….glues me NOT what I want to glue.
It always gets to me. I’m using shouting like ‘why are you not working! You have one job!’
@@GWilliamsonModels I might feel better if I shout at it. My family think I’m eccentric anyway so that wouldn’t make any difference!!
Are you are planning on doing tutorials for all different tree types, tbh I think that's genius... noone else in TH-camy world has done that... All you get is generic deciduous 🌳 🌲🌲🌲
That’s the plan!
@@GWilliamsonModels I've a lot to learn George so I'll definitely be watching along.
I'm cringing at you using the Dremel, I'm imagining it slipping and drilling your finger.
In that case, scalpels must terrify you! Frankly, the fumes from the various solvents modelmakers use are probably a bigger hazard.

If it makes you feel better, I currently have a full set of fingers with no puncture wounds
Very true! Just because you can’t see the fumes, doesn’t mean they’re not harmful

Yo deff good mofo
Cheers mate
