Ahh yes, cats and model railway layouts, a well known successful combination! 14:12. "We might as well just check in on Rupert." Oh my god, George has stuck a chair leg through Rupert 😮😮😮! "He's alright, you okay Rupert... Yes? Okay" Rupert dramatically lays there, "ah ha, you have dedded me!" 😂
Thanks for the finishing off of the fern making process I did much the same as you but didn't leave them in the gelatine as long. As well as that I made it up too strong so I had a lump of fern jelly the following day but soon had that sorted. I'm surprised you didn't weight them down to preserve the fern shape as they dried but seeing how yours turned out there was no need.
No problem! Yes it seems to be a bit of a balancing act with the mixture, but at least it’s not an expensive fail if it goes wrong. I don’t bother to weigh them down, as it leaves them with a naturally random look
j@@GWilliamsonModels He was climbing on the layout but looking at the floor . There was a spot he wanted to get to but couldn't because of stuff in the way. They look for places to make nests for protection while sleeping. Where he's interested, leave a path to get there.
@ I’ve since raised the layout up into the trestles. It’s been on a keyboard stand that’s really low, so he’s not bothered about it anymore because it’s too tall
Love the greenery in the dry walling. Very prototypical. From memory, owt growing from the *top* of slate wall indicates impending dereliction. Young Rupert looks like a cat who'll soon enough work out where he is and isn't welcome. Where his shed fur isn't welcome might prove a harder nut to crack!! Keep any shed whiskers .... *very* useful for things like passably convincing fishing rods
Yes quite right, maybe I’ll do an ASMR series where I do all the boring parts. You can listen to me scraping paint out of the spray booth for 2 hours 😂
I have said it before but you need to make a small cat size furry rug, lol. Great work as usual George. So what is on the agenda when this layout comes to an end.
Take a drink every time Mr W redoes the stream! Im also a big fan of MrBallen, its either him or Mr Nightmare playing in the background when Im working
@GWilliamsonModels cheers and great update video. Have you tried spagnam moss at all? I used a dried hydrangea bloom for the small tree near my bridge, it's nice to use natural products, gives a much better look imo
In the next 4 months, The Railway Series' 80th Anniversary is coming... By the way, Bachmann Sir Handel will be released in between Late April/Early May. Mark your calendars.
I can't imagine you care to listen to one commenter, but the clickbait style titles and thumbnails really put me off your content :( it's a shame because the videos are just so wonderful, but it's lost amongs the generic rubbish.
@@williamsworkshopuk sorry to hear that, but I honestly can’t see any issue with the thumbnail. Titles need to be less than 60 characters, and need to have key words, so I try and get them to fit the videos content - which they do. Best of luck.
Fantastic work and inspiration !
And several chears to Rupert 😂😂
Cheers mate!
Yes, I’m sure Rupert will continue to assist filming these videos 🙄
That is impressive dedication. Top marks.
@@ProfPtarmigan cheers mate, worth the effort I think

He’s never far away, and it seems that he’s learnt to not jump onto the layouts!

14:17, it looks like he is trying to make it look like the chair impaled him so he can get some insurance money
He’s an attention seeker, he’s learnt quickly 😂
@GWilliamsonModels at least he hasn't become stubborn and sits wherever he wants on your layout like my cat dose

You have really done well ,it looks very good Arthur
Thanks Arthur, that means alot

Good work!
Nice work. Ferntastic!

Interesting, but yes, it’s not the newest walling, so makes sense if it’s feeling tired these days!
Nice work as usual George. Perhaps you should put out one of those relaxing ASMR videos of you just planting ferns for half an hour… ;)

Don’t tempt me, just waiting for his coat to grow 😈
The next project is currently being planned. First non-narrow gauge build’

wonderful work as always!
i've found if there's something you want to keep cats off, orange peel works wonders. they can't stand the citrus smell!
Noted! Cheers I’ll try it
@GWilliamsonModels fingers crossed he keeps him off your projects!
or a well aimed super soaker which is a bit more fun for yourself
@@ExpressRhubarb tried this in my garden and the local cat just took a 💩 on top of it .. which tbf was brilliant comedy for a cat 🐈
@_RandomPea pfffff xD a dirty protest!
George, What are you going to do to disguise the hole in the wall to the fiddle yard? Can it be hidden in deep foliage?
Yes I’m hoping to block the view using trees etc. it should be ok, as that part of Nant Gwernol is quite tree heavy
2:39 I would LOVE to have a cat but I am worried that this would happen if I don't put a lock on my study door (where I keep my oo gauge trains)
It’s always a risk, but as long as the doors shut, the risk has gone
@ that is very true
Did you find out the name of the moss George? Definitely the best representation of ferns ive ever seen modelled mate 🎉
Cheers, I believe it’s called ‘Tamarisk moss’, you can get it online if you can’t find it wild

Storm Rupert blew through Corrish 😂.
And not for the last time either!
At this point you should just make a micro layout set at the beach with crabs
I like that
On the bank it looks like bracken, ferns on the lower slope.
That’s correct, bracken can be found above the line - Infact, I’ll be adding a lot more of it in the next few weeks
@ had been pondering how to present bracken on mine, think this will work nicely.
Thanks for these videos, they’re a constant source of inspiration
@ not a problem! It’s a time consuming job, but looks good, so have fun!

@@Ioan-vu6td it is. I find you just need to check reviews and customer photos so you know what you’re getting

I do most of the time these days mate, I’m like a tree man who lives in the woods
I was so shocked and upset over Rupert, I needed a cat to yell on. So now my cat is under the sofa. He had to take it on behalf of the feline kind.
Taking one for the team
