    A tip that I used to get those adjustments screws out is to heat up a Small screwdriver with a torch and then stick it in there for 30 seconds and it should pop out it works every time

    Your videos are honestly my favorite, they are so enjoyable to watch. Also I love used, especially if it is broken you get it pretty inexpensive, plus the fun of fixing it. Also you know those older Featherlite trimmers? Like the boxy ones with the square design? I use one as my main trimmer and those are actually AMAZING trimmers. Hope to see you work on one again, not sure how you feel about them but they are my favorite because they are very simplistic and run forever, and since everyone thinks they aren't a "high-end brand" you can get them for free or extremely cheaply. I loved the one I had so much I got another one that needed to be fixed and would you guess what? Fixed in under an hour, soooo easy to work on and they just keep going.

    Hey bro awesome video. Another piece of equipment saved from going into the landfill. Personally for me bro I rather save up and get a new piece of equipment. Purchasing a used piece of equipment is almost the equivalent of getting a new one. The difference isn't really that much usually by a few hundred or one thousand dollars where I live in the Caribbean here, so come to think about it I rather purchase a new piece of equipment versus an old piece of equipment.

    My Question is how much carb tuning do you do before you rebuild or replace carb?

    • @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE
      @INSIDEHOUSEGARAGE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Minimal, anything over 3/4 of a turn is usually good sign there's something going on with the carb, either the screen is clogged or there's a blockage somewhere .

    Before I knew anything about engines *whatsoever* (I was mostly a tech guy) I preferred buying/picking up from the side of the road/etc used small engine equipment.
    You're gonna have to mess around with some settings, no matter what, always.
    Would you wanna learn on brand new stuff? No. Used stuff is always better as a first time. New stuff is what you get when you really really want new stuff after you've learned the literal hard way with experience, so you don't ruin your new stuff. :)

    There's an update for carb diaphragm that gives more oomph.

      I have a 76 (i think) husqvarna l65 and it has low compression and the piston and the cylinder are scrached badly but it starts and runs fine.
      I wonder if i replaced the piston and honed out the cylinder would it still work just fine?
      I dont use it to cut wood i just start it like 3 times a year and let it run for about 5 minutes. It has seen better days so i dont want to abuse it even more. I even posted some videos on my profile if you want go check it out

      sure why not, I you can find the ring, and very lightly hone the cylinder, it should work. Remember though you won't be honing to get rid of scratches, just get it ready for the ring to seat.

    So all my Stihl equipment was bought brand new. Yep will never do that again, just to expensive, better to find a used Stihl or in this case echo equipment and buy used, if not owned by a landscaper. Usually those models have some high use on them. It’s funny, I bought a new Stihl FS 111RX last year. Just the other day, a lady gave me a like brand new, I mean used only a few items and put away… Stihl FS44… all I did was put a new bulb on it, and it fired right up. Runs and looks like new. The lady who gave it to me said that they used it maybe 5 times and then hired a service. It sat in their garage all these years, Still looks like it just was purchased. So now I have both, I don’t need both but it’s always nice to have a backup.. one thing though, the 44 is so light compared to the 111. Anyway keep up a great work, I always watch your videos!
