This album was the masterpiece to me when it came out. Graduation over the years stole the top spot. This man has so many classics and amazing risks taken.
The whole Kanye and finding his inner child has become such a legendary aspect of his career. Whenever he can tap into that element of his persona his music is incredible. That's why Kids see ghost was so good, whenever he's around Cudi that comes out of Kanye...and this is like my 10th comment I cant help it! Kanye is the GOAT
Just listened to the entire album after watching the film. Finishing up the MBDTF trilogy with this docu. Will be back to do this next year. Stay frosty family
Doing the exact thing as well. The short film was the most beautiful thing I saw at age 14 now I’m gonna watch it again at 24. It inspired me to create film
Artistic genius. Multiple forms. Look up his drawings and paintings on TH-cam. It’s crazy. He could dominate that, too. And, he’s a billionaire from clothing, sneakers, and apparel.
This video gave me goosebumps at multiple different times and reminded me just how amazing, influential, and important this album and Kanye’s music in general is
One of the best albums of the 00’s. One of the greatest redemption stories ever. Kanye sticking up the middle finger to his doubters while simultaneously feeling guilt about his actions. MBDTF was the most interesting and greatest period of time for Kanye in my opinion.
this whole album and 36-minute documentary might as well come together, because of this video and a lot of other dope videos i’ve seen you make, i’m subscribing. keep up the dope videos and i’ll keep on watching.
I just listen to this in the car parked in from of my house like two weeks ago. I don’t care what type of person he is or what he’s going through . HE IS GREATNESS ! And most of the people who have mental illness can sometimes be the most creative people. ❤
The more I watch this video the more genius i realize it is. The way it starts with showing the vma incident from everyone else's perspective and then ending with kanye's take on it creates an arch in the story you are telling.
My personal favorite Kanye album and idk if he'll ever top this album.. Maybe Yandhi will prove me wrong, but GOD that album is phenomenal. THIS is the type of album rappers today should try to achieve on being or at least have one album as artsy as this.
@@darrellholmes9609 Same here. Ever since I listened to Kanye back when Yeezus first came out, I felt that I needed to listen to his older music because Yeezus sounded garbage to me (I love the album nowadays after being in the Yeezus era from the interviews be to the tour). I started with Graduation thinking it was Ye's best and instantly wondered "Why TF doesn't he make music like this anymore? Wtf happened?" Then I bumped to Dark Fantasy and it struck me & stood out to me on being one of the most artistic albums I've ever heard from production, concepts, the instrumentations on songs, features, it was an experience listening to it the first time. I wish i was apart of that era.
while this is not my favorite album. this is a fuckn MASTERPIECE. there isnt really like major hits on this album like all falls down but any song from this album you get that mood. like you know this took TIME. any song from this album gives you the vibes. This is an album you take the time and play start to finish and just have deep ass thoughts. I got this on vinyl and every now and then i put it on and think "yup this is kanye's greatest work".
In my opinion Blame Game is his best song Vulnerable, honest, dark, masterpiece production, perfect piano play, John Legend on the Hook, the fucked up lyrics. Kanye is my favorite artist. Blame Game became my favorite song thru hook or crook. Wasn’t even looking for it to be my favorite song but somehow it did. Perhaps because I’ve had my heart broken. Perhaps because I can’t find a single flaw on the song. I’d like to think I’m a closet artist that can give credit where it is due. Kanye is a musical Genius! Long Live MBDTF
Blame Game is also up there for me as one of his best songs, revealing such a sensitive yet such a dark mental state that men go through during a break up. Men aren't the Ultimate victims but we over think when it comes to any person we find interest in. That can some times be our biggest downfall as men to the point where we mess things up ourselves. John Legend on the hook being the polar opposite to Kanye's aggressive verses to me makes the song even better because it's like the hook are his thoughts and he's not doing that clearly. Which leads to him just being "angry" during the verses.
IT IS ONE OF BUT 808’s IS WAY MORE IMPACTFUL TO ME WHICH IS WHY ITS HIS BEST ALBUM I THINK COLLEGE DROPOUT IS HIS BEST ALBUM BUT 808’s IS THE MOST IMPACTFUL ALBUM MBDTF JUST HIT SO HARD AT THE RIGHT TIME WHEN HIS BACK WAS REALLY REALLY AGAINST THE WALL..
all great albums and could be placed in the top 5 in any fans list. Its subjective ultimately but I find this album to be the most cohesive sonic for music and rap. This is the style that speaks to me most. But 36 chambers was my first introduction to hip hop so I would never say that couldn't be one of the best.
What an album. After 808's I thought he was falling off but this blew me away, almost every track was a hit. I've seen glimpses of greatness in few songs after this but nothing cones close. I've given up, but maybe he still can make another one like it
1. All Of The Lights (including prelude) 2. Runaway 3. Monster 4. Dark Fantasy 5. Power Damn I feel so basic with this list but there are just so many top tier tracks on this album, as we all know. Thing is I've played POWER to death and I'm not as hyped about that and Dark Fantasy as I used to be, though the other three have never lost their juice after 100 plays minimum. So regarding how I feel about it now, I'd sub out POWER with Gorgeous, and Dark Fantasy with...... nah I'll keep Dark Fantasy.
Doesn't work that way on TH-cam anymore. It doesn't matter how short your clip is, all the ad money is going to UMG, and he knew this going into it, that's why he got a sponsor
Man to be brutally honest some of his song I didn't like when I first heard them but over time I've come to love them and appreciate his incredible genius. This man has been one of my favorite artist since day one.

If you haven't already, definitely listen to the podcast Dissect. There's a whole season dedicated to breaking down MBDTF track by track, both lyrically and musically. It gave me a whole new appreciation for the album and Kanye as an artist.
pourboy It wasn’t for a reaction, look at Kanye’s face, it looks like he genuinely considered his mistake at that point and finally realised what his Mother would have actually thought. Of course it made him upset, but I think he’d be very appreciative to have to heard it, after healing.
@@maxconnolly4279 I feel like he was just being careful with his words. Think about it, the media would've loved to see him flip out at an interviewer over his dead mother. It would've made headlines, but thanks to the calm state he was in he didn't give that weirdo what he wanted. That's the way I see it
I love this time in the Kanye Era. GOOD Music releasing songs every other day prior to the release of the album. MBDTF was born and my all time fav project was also created: Good Fridays. Featuring Prime Nicki, Ross, Cudi, Kanye, Rihanna and Pusha.

He says Yandhi will be his return to form. Let's see.
When we all have kids or grandkids, Kanye will be one of their "I was born in the wrong generation" artists like Queen, Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd are today.

I think there's a lesson to be learned from that for all of us, life is always more interesting from the aspect of your inner child.

Kanye West is a living Legend, a Musical Genius who, i feel, doesn't get his much due respect in Music, especially Rap/Hip-Hop.
Artistic genius. Multiple forms. Look up his drawings and paintings on TH-cam. It’s crazy. He could dominate that, too. And, he’s a billionaire from clothing, sneakers, and apparel.

One of the best albums of the 00’s. One of the greatest redemption stories ever. Kanye sticking up the middle finger to his doubters while simultaneously feeling guilt about his actions. MBDTF was the most interesting and greatest period of time for Kanye in my opinion.
It came out in 2010, so it’d be the put in the 2010 decade, not the 2000’s

Check out the podcast "Dissect" for a in depth look

In my opinion Blame Game is his best song
Vulnerable, honest, dark, masterpiece production, perfect piano play, John Legend on the Hook, the fucked up lyrics.
Blame game is so good, except for the cringy last part😅
I wish he could release all the Good Fridays on streaming services. Christian Dior Flow was my favorite song back in high school.
Good Friday’s mixtape was on Google Play Music but they took it off for some odd reason
They’re on TH-cam and soundcloud
'i got the world in my hands, the master plan, but i don't know why i keep callin', why i keep-'
Kristian Cloud “all of these girls in my shows they lovin me, but i don’t know why I keep callin, why I keep calling you”
i feel so sorry for people who never listened to Christian Dior Denim Flow
This is arguably the best hip hop album of all time.
I vouch
IT IS ONE OF BUT 808’s IS WAY MORE IMPACTFUL TO ME WHICH IS WHY ITS HIS BEST ALBUM I THINK COLLEGE DROPOUT IS HIS BEST ALBUM BUT 808’s IS THE MOST IMPACTFUL ALBUM MBDTF JUST HIT SO HARD AT THE RIGHT TIME WHEN HIS BACK WAS REALLY REALLY AGAINST THE WALL..
Lmao
What about NWA's album or Wu Tang? What about the Marshall Mathers Lp 1?
all great albums and could be placed in the top 5 in any fans list. Its subjective ultimately but I find this album to be the most cohesive sonic for music and rap. This is the style that speaks to me most. But 36 chambers was my first introduction to hip hop so I would never say that couldn't be one of the best.
Nobody talks about how Kanye West was 100% right when he made the claim at the VMAs and for that I respect Justin Vernon even more.
What an album. After 808's I thought he was falling off but this blew me away, almost every track was a hit. I've seen glimpses of greatness in few songs after this but nothing cones close. I've given up, but maybe he still can make another one like it

1. All Of The Lights (including prelude)
2. Runaway
3. Monster
4. Dark Fantasy
5. Power
Damn I feel so basic with this list but there are just so many top tier tracks on this album, as we all know. That guy really just mentioned his dead mother for a reaction, what a bum
pourboy It wasn’t for a reaction, look at Kanye’s face, it looks like he genuinely considered his mistake at that point and finally realised what his Mother would have actually thought.
That's the way I see it
the way he brings it up like Kanye is a little kid
Max B. I mean, he’s kind of a kid as an artist, and he’s pretty much a kid with the loss of his mother, plus his reaction was immensely childish.
