I feel like Witcher 3 Next Gen is still not well optimized, or maybe it is just my problem.. I play using laptop with RTX 4060, Ultra RT settings, the FPS is always between 50-80-ish, sometime can go till 90++, but as i play longer, i can see some flickering and blurring when moving the character around despite the GPU consumption is normal and no sudden FPS spike/drop. I have to restart the game everytime this happens.. I played some other high end game like Horizon Zero Dawn and GTA V and they are running well.
Dm me a video in discord or upload one to youtube of your settings and performance. Need to see resolution settings and all graphics settings, gpu usage, core clocks, fps etc
I have a 4060 Lenovo legion and I’m getting at least 60fps with RT on, dlss quality, and fg on downsampling at 4K on a 1440p monitor in novigrad. Maybe they’ve optimized since then but it’s a great experience with the 4060
Ray tracing is really unoptimized for the Witcher rn, it's not an issue with the card. If you turn RT off you can get 40fps at max 4k, or 60 fps at 1440p.
fun fact dlss balanced at 1440p renders at a higher internal resolution than dlss quality at 1080p maybe will target that as i prefer the high refresh rate experience than just visual fidelity
Hey BB I see the 14900k is keeping rather chilly, i was planning on upgrading but temps are over 70 at 1080p with my 10700k at 5Ghz, yet yours is sitting at around 50 at 5.68Ghz. What cooler do you use? I use a dual fan aio. Most of the tech reviewers say the 14900k runs hotter than the 13900k with next to minimal performance improvement, is any of that true?
Theres a small performance improvement with the 14900k but in the uk the 14900k is the same price as the 13900k so if you had to pick between the two at the same price id buy the 14900k. Im using a 360mm corsair cooler with a small undervolt as well. Some games it still can reach 80-90 and its going to run hotter at 1080p compared to 4k as well. I personally wouldnt want a dual fan cooler for it. Minimum has to be 360mm. If i was you id maybe wait until end of 2024 when intel release the new cpus on the new socket
2k monitor is just fine although I use laptop version which is supposed to be slower by 5% it runs every game I tested so far on 2k and 2.5k really well. Tho about that 5% I have stock overclock from asus hence I think it should perform just the same. I have asus rog strix g18 with i9 13980hx (consider 2k if you have a good cpu not that it will change much since res is gpu dependent but on 1080p lower quality is less noticable) played cb2077, AW2, the medium recently, mw2019, ghostwire tokyo, witcher 3, TLOU I mean I have around 20 games on rn (2tb to fit em with spare space) and sometimes that 2.5k res is just too much (AW2 and cb2077 2k just keeps me at 60fps+ almost all of the time) so 1080p is really not worth it. 2k is the way if you dont mind DLSS and FG.

If you turn of hair work you Can gain fps with rt on on 1440p resolution 😊
It barely improves fps much
My victus 16 can have 60+ fps in ultra settings with 1080p how do you get around 30 fps
which settings?
If you run it in DX11 you getting much more fps
Of course. Its a downgrade of graphics so you would expect more fps. You would lose ray tracing and ultra+ graphics in dx11
Only lose ray tracing option not ultra+
