    I feel like Witcher 3 Next Gen is still not well optimized, or maybe it is just my problem..
    I play using laptop with RTX 4060, Ultra RT settings, the FPS is always between 50-80-ish, sometime can go till 90++, but as i play longer, i can see some flickering and blurring when moving the character around despite the GPU consumption is normal and no sudden FPS spike/drop. I have to restart the game everytime this happens.. I played some other high end game like Horizon Zero Dawn and GTA V and they are running well.

    I have a 4060 Lenovo legion and I’m getting at least 60fps with RT on, dlss quality, and fg on downsampling at 4K on a 1440p monitor in novigrad. Maybe they’ve optimized since then but it’s a great experience with the 4060

      Actually its a trend amongst Yt's to shit on this card to get views, it clearly says a 1080p card. You get performance in 1080p

    Ray tracing is really unoptimized for the Witcher rn, it's not an issue with the card. If you turn RT off you can get 40fps at max 4k, or 60 fps at 1440p.

      How can I play 60 fps at 1440p? Obviously RT is off but what else? Graphics on Ultra, High or Med? DLSS Quality I asume

  • @avikde9631
    @avikde9631 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    fun fact dlss balanced at 1440p renders at a higher internal resolution than dlss quality at 1080p maybe will target that as i prefer the high refresh rate experience than just visual fidelity

    Hey BB I see the 14900k is keeping rather chilly, i was planning on upgrading but temps are over 70 at 1080p with my 10700k at 5Ghz, yet yours is sitting at around 50 at 5.68Ghz. What cooler do you use? I use a dual fan aio. Most of the tech reviewers say the 14900k runs hotter than the 13900k with next to minimal performance improvement, is any of that true?

    • @BenchmarkBoy
      @BenchmarkBoy  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Theres a small performance improvement with the 14900k but in the uk the 14900k is the same price as the 13900k so if you had to pick between the two at the same price id buy the 14900k. Im using a 360mm corsair cooler with a small undervolt as well. Some games it still can reach 80-90 and its going to run hotter at 1080p compared to 4k as well. I personally wouldnt want a dual fan cooler for it. Minimum has to be 360mm. If i was you id maybe wait until end of 2024 when intel release the new cpus on the new socket

    I have RTX 4060 and a 4k monitor. Do you suggest to play games at lower resolution on the same monitor or should I get a 1080p monitor.

    • @nameless98
      @nameless98 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      2k monitor is just fine although I use laptop version which is supposed to be slower by 5% it runs every game I tested so far on 2k and 2.5k really well. Tho about that 5% I have stock overclock from asus hence I think it should perform just the same. I have asus rog strix g18 with i9 13980hx (consider 2k if you have a good cpu not that it will change much since res is gpu dependent but on 1080p lower quality is less noticable) played cb2077, AW2, the medium recently, mw2019, ghostwire tokyo, witcher 3, TLOU I mean I have around 20 games on rn (2tb to fit em with spare space) and sometimes that 2.5k res is just too much (AW2 and cb2077 2k just keeps me at 60fps+ almost all of the time) so 1080p is really not worth it. 2k is the way if you dont mind DLSS and FG.

      @@Icygaminguy higher-end ones. That ofc support 140w not that 120w isnt enough but I feels like it limits sometimes perf. Friend chose lower end 4060 and results were like 2 different graphics. Tested only on 1080p sice lower end results outa benchmark on 2077 were 8 fps diff. That is quite a lot and not like.. 90 to 98 which is still a lot but from 70 to 80 which is even bigger difference. Thats what less RAM, (16 instead of 32, weaker CPU Idk which one now and more limited gpu does. So it really depends on what configuration you choose)

That is way better than 1080p at ultra w ray tracing . Don't get a 1080p monitor thats ridiculous . If anything play at 1080p on the 4k monitor .

      @@BenchmarkBoy i only have a 6700 xt and a 5700 xt . But I swear they do better than this especially when fsr 2 enabled .which I need becuase Both use 4k displays . to see this 4060 make games unplayable in 4k is pretty lame. Maybe need to enable resizable bar ? Faster ram ? Enable dlss ? Something seems off here or that card really is slow idk , I play starfield at ultra 4k avg30 fps 5700 xt + 5600x . I play witcher 3 next gen ultra plus 4k avg 50 fps on 6700 xt + 9700k . This card is paired with a way better cpu and cant even 4k at a playable framerate . That's absurd !!!

      @@30jspecial There's absolutely no way the 6700xt is doing 4k 50 fps with ultra+ settings and ray tracing on. The 4090 can just about do that. Only way that would be possible is FSR ultra performance and ray tracing off which is significantly lower settings than what we are testing here. 4060 isnt a 4k card so im not quite sure what you're expecting from it either way. It has 8gb of vram. Thats no where near enough for 4k ray tracing. The 6700xt cant play 4k native either. Its also not a 4k card

      @@30jspecial he's running literally the highest settings in the game... unless you're an elite snob when it comes to graphics and need every stupid setting to max, this card is defo playable, even without DLSS. Besides, if you're a snob about graphics, you aint getting a mid tier card like this, you're getting a 4090.. 😂 the selling point of these mid cards is the power consumption, a 6700xt for similar performance is 230W, whereas this is 110W maximum
