Three years after this was posted, I purchased my today for the awesome price of @1,090/3 15 round mags. I carry everyday a full size 1911 and that is why I bought this gun. Great video!
Over the years I've had several different variations of the 226 that I always ended up selling. When I bought this one I could not believe the difference, this gun is awesome and a keeper. I now have 3 Legion SAO's, a 220, 226 and a 229 and owning them makes me want to sell the others.
I just bought the same Sig last night. I shoot and carry 1911 Commanders, so I’m always sweeping the thumb safety on any pistol I shoot, even if there isn’t one on the gun...lol! Decocking is like a 1911: grasp hammer firmly, pull trigger enough to just release hammer, release trigger and ride hammer forward. The Sig hammer stops well short of the firing pin when the trigger isn’t back. I have two P229’s, and the decocker is nice, but not essential for me.

I have a couple of other 226s that are da/sa of course but I love that this came out in SAO, I freaking love this gun, top of the line in my book, can't get a better trigger imho
No hate I am a 1911 guy and just bought this pistol I am overall very happy with my purchase, former LE so carrying on a safety off hammer back configuration never bothered me even my old beretta 92F nice overall review thanks.
If u truly know about and research handguns. How in the hell a glock can be better than a Sig. Beautiful gun bro keep up the good work. My fave is the Sig p320 x carry.
Having one of these would be great. With that being said, for this being an UNBOXING video, wouldnt it be unfortunate that the firearm already has what appears to be a pretty significant scratch by the breech part of the slide? Thanks
+bmwnasher Thanks for watching from England. It's primary purpose is for defensive carry either on your person or in your home. It would also make a great target gun, and for recreational shooting. Other than that its cool mechanical engineering, and something to make your friends go "Oooooh" about......
A trigger that will only fire if the hammer is cocked. A double action/single action will fire with the hammer down and also when the hammer is cocked. Completely different trigger pulls though
As far as no decocker goes. Why not just have it cocked and loaded ready to fire and leave the safety off. So if something happens you just have to point and fire ?
That's not his point on having a decocker. He just would like the ability to drop the hammer if he wanted to without having to pull the trigger. Please for the love of God do not carry a pistol like this cocked with the safety off
+DJBAcHIGU Thanks for the feedback. The extractor on the 226 has always been oversize. I think this one is the same as the MK25 Navy gun. I guess its one less thing to worry about while extracting a spent cartridge.
+DJBAcHIGU I don't know about that, but it seems to work well. I haven't shot this gun, but my older Sig 226's have very high round counts and the only thing that wears out on them are the springs.
If the gun had a decocker, wouldn't it fail to be SAO? It would then be a standard Sig P226- I guess you could mean that if you decock the gun it would just render it unfireable. That would be dumb. The gun is just fine. It's plenty safe- I love mine and my Legion 229. Very good video and discussion points!
Strictly speaking , yes. I like the SAO and am certainly not judging those that do. It's a great pistol and I like them enough to have picked up my second one. I just bought the P226 DA/SA Legion the other day. Thanks for the feedback.
I can't believe people would really register a gun that's not theirs. What are they going to do? Collect the extra case and coin? Surf the legion store for a special legion key chain?
This gun is already heavy with the alloy frame. I think it is around 10 more ounces with the stainless steel elite. Which I had my heart set on with the rose grips. She definitely would have been a safe queen. This legion though??? This is what I pulled the trigger on in p229. Sights, trigger and grip are way better than the elite
I would highly recommend against that. The pin block is only for the hammer being forced down or gun malfunction safety. It does nothing for you accidentally pulling the trigger. There is a tad bit of take up then around a 4lb break.
@@en4orser so what's the difference with a striker fired pistol with no safety? Nothing stopping you from "accidentally" pulling the trigger on those either.
@@en4orser There is this thing called "indexing"...I suggest you do that and follow the 4 gun safety rules regardless of what type of action you have....and you'll be fine.
They need to improve the finish it's inferior to even a standard 226 Finish, lots of complaints on forums about that, I sold mine and lost money because the finish sucked. Companies like Springfield armory armory kote far superior and durable.
I'm past the 2000 round mark and the finish is holding up I don't know where yours was wearing but mine has the normal wear that any nitron finish Sig would have.

Sig also makes the 226 Legion in DA/SA, which has a decocker instead of the safety.

While you were talking about the de cocker you failed to mention that on the Sig you can rack the slide with the safety on.

Yes, i'm not sure if the trigger parts can be swapped. You might want to call Grey Guns and see if they have an SAO trigger for the 229.

Very safe to unload. Leave on safety, drop mag, rack slide. Much safer than a glock with no safety.
