They wouldn't need that complicated arrangement if it just had an actual parking brake, which I think is better overall. It wouldn't need "park" at all.
Call me crazy but I'd rather have cables than electric servos. I have a Kodiak 700 and the four-wheel drive lever is attached to a cable attached to the diff
I don't really mess with top speed on these kind of things because they're not street legal so it's kind of irrelevant to me. But yes, 22+ they can handle a light 30-in tire for all around off-roading. You will probably need forword control arms to clear them up front.
@@MudPuppyOffroad ok thanks I’m in Michigan so we have a lot of fire trails small hills and mud most ridding areas are a combination of all of them I like the idea of the automatic transmission over belts and have always been a fan of Honda reliability my only concern is my buddy has my old 2013 can am commander 1000 and I can’t have him beat me rippin down a back road lol
What do you clean your machine with ? Always super clean after your rides in your video. Keep up the great informative videos and always enjoy the ride ones..
I really don't clean them I think it just appears that way because I often post videos out of order on TH-cam due to their stupid algorithm. When I do clean them I use purple Power and then liquid Performance Motorcycle cleaner
@@MudPuppyOffroadI'm looking at new pioneers, I want simplicity and not sure I'd like the i-4wd. My king quads have selectable locker in front and it seems like this would be similar. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for making the video! Now I gotta find a video on adjusting the 2wd lock/unlock

Yeah I really don't get it because the ATVs have a parking brake and it works great

Thanks for explaining
what is the top speed of your pioneer? can it handle some 30" tires and still be fast and powerfull for hills and trails?

One reason they would do that would be bc if you have a broke rear axle and didn’t realize it… in park with only turf mode.. it could roll away.
True!
How large are the differentials themselves? Any possibility to retrofit an atv to use them?
That would be pretty tricky and require custom driveshafts and axles probably not worth it
How fast can you drive in turf mode like down the highway?
I went 55
@@MudPuppyOffroad ok. I only need to go 50. Thanks
@@447Filmyou can drive just as fast in turf as anything else
@@parkermckowen3781 awesome! That is great to know.
What would cause your machine to be stuck in 4wd diff lock?
Stuck cables. Need to oil or replace them
Is 4wd system the same on the p1000 models without I-4wd? This sounds way better than I-4wd
I don't understand your question because this is a p1000
But yes every Pioneer 1000 without I four wheel drive has the same system as mine
@@MudPuppyOffroad yea that’s what I was asking, I saw your other video now. U da man
@@johnblevins897 the system works great on the 2022 models I've had zero complaints with mine and it's been through a fair amount of abuse so far

So if we run are in turf mode a lot is it bad for the rear diff to be locked and unlocked all the time
Nope its a good design
@Mud Puppy, what mode do you drive in pave roads? Turf..?
Any man knows that too much in and out makes things get sloppy.
