My Pioneer 1000-5 has been back to the dealer (3) times because shifting from turf mode to 2wd lock would not work, after playing with the shifter sometime it would shift to 2wd lock, but the indicator display in the cluster would not change. Dealer told me all the Pioneer 1000-5 were like this and refused to adjust the cables anymore. The dealer was clueless on how to do the adjustment. After watching this video (2) times I adjusted the cables and it worked great. The indicator in the cluster is working and displays all driving modes. No more loud slams / bangs from the rear differential. Took 45 minutes to fix. Good video and easy to fix the problem.
I don't have a SXS but I wanted to watch to learn something new. This is an excellent video and is in my opinion the real benefit of TH-cam. Teaching and learning.
@H2THAL Thank you for explaining what each cable goes to. I've got the 2wd lock and turf mode to work but it's not going into 4wd. I do see it go into 4wd from time to time. Can you do a video on that adjustment? Thanks again!

I must have something else going on. I adjusted a couple clicks until it was all the way out and then all the way in but it will not lock. Good detailed video though
I know Im randomly asking but does someone know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me.

It could be. You could also be in "2wd" mode even if your lever is in turf. 2wd mode locks the rear wheels together, which when turning on hard surfaces causes scrubbing. This may be wearing our your tires early. have you checked your tire rotation and made adjustments as seen in the video?

I live in northern NH. If I throw a watermelon into the trees next to me house, will this modification help scare the shit out of my buddy? He scares pretty easy, so I think I can leave it in factory settings.
Only if said buddy doesn’t know you threw said watermelon, and also in that moment truly believed el chupacabra was about to bust out of the bushes and drink his blood.

If I have 1 rear type locking up... is that a differential issue... it wore a brand new tire out in less than 6 months
