    Sicilian food isn’t mostly fried. Lol. The street food, sure. Clarify that, though. Also, being vegetarian in Palermo isn’t going to result in the best food. There’s a lot being missed out on.

    Nice video. I must ask though, how do you go to Sicily and not eat the fresh meats and seafood? Mi stai prendendo in giro?

    pane con le panelle: its dry but we usually use a lot of lemon in it. Why any stranger eat that without lemon, or better why shops dont tell about lemon? Maybe because we know is dry so they dont think about it? anyways.... Lemon guys, with lemon it will be more delicous and less sand-dry-like.

    • @KeepGoingPlaces
      @KeepGoingPlaces  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We hoped for lemon since that’s what we read while planning, but that shop didn’t serve it with them. Not sure why. Anyways, lemon joined would’ve been perfect.

    • @dariodimarco3631
      @dariodimarco3631 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KeepGoingPlaces yeah, some places dont serve lemon maybe because they think "if you want it you will ask", but is stupid. Next time just ask for lemon and salt.

    We usually use different shapes of arancine based on the flavor: round = ragù (meat sauce), oval = "burro" or butter (we call it butter but is prosciutto, mozzarella and butter instead), egg shape = salmon or sausage ragù, round but small are usually with sugar and contains nutella or sort of, and spinach and mozzarella can be flat like yours or some other use the egg shape instead.
    We can say round and oval are the same in any bar, but other shapes depends on the cook. For example when i do arancine at home i use egg shape for spinach and mozzarella and i use the flat shape for the peanut butter ones, not a real sicilian arancina but delicious.

      @@KeepGoingPlaces Another curiosity about it: December 13th is a popular festival, "santa Lucia", where people usually eat arancine kinda all day. Any bar serve different flavors of arancine that usually dont serve: Salmon as said, tuna and mayonnaise, pork cheek and eggs (carbonara), four cheeses (gorgonzola, parmigiano, emmental and taleggio) and any other idea has the cook that day. Some of their fillings are inspired on pizza flavors as the mentioned _four cheeses_ or pasta flavors as _carbonara_ .
      Also there is a place called "Bar Touring" that any days serve the "arancina bomba" which is an arancina big as 2/3 normal ones.

      @zafira976 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@teggianosalerno5050 it's all good man, in fact the whole of the country is fantastic and what Nothern Europeans dream of as a lifestyle. Actually, if you live in Nothern Europe you don't live at all. No lifestyle at all, everyone works and then goes home like they've been programmed to do, then get a package holiday to live for 2 weeks (sometimes even just 1 as they can't afford 2) what's everyday life for the people of Southern Europe. It's very sad but also very true. I lived in 2 Nothern European countries and traveled to most of them and it's the same all over. Crap weather most of the year and zero lifestyle. The whole of the Mediterranean is a much higher level of living, you just can't get anywhere else in the world. In my view Portugal is number one with Spain and Italy as a very close 2nd, but as I said it's all great compared to Nothern Europe.
