  • What’s the best town to visit in Sicily? If you ask us, it's absolutely Taormina. An ancient greek theatre with ocean views, granita (italian shaved ice) for breakfast and a spectacular Mt Etna always in the backdrop. Taormina is a seaside town on Sicily eastern coast that has everything you’d want from your Sicilian getaway.
    Make sure your first stop of the day is to Bam Bar for granita. This shaved ice with fresh cream is a Sicilian classic and Bam Bar has been serving up the best granita in Italy for decades!
    Now you’re ready for a day exploring the most beautiful ancient Greek ruins you’ve ever seen. The Greek theatre in Taormina sits atop the city and is a must-do. Enjoy the view from above the town as tae in the best Sicily has to offer!
    Follow along as we explore Taormina and more of the best places to visit in Sicily during our two-week road trip.

      We are heading to Sicily in May and traveling all around the island. It would be really helpful to see the accommodations that you stay at and get a review of how you like them. 😊

    The amphitheatre at Taormina was jaw-droppingly stunning for its views and one of the highlights of our trip to Sicily. It is staggering to imagine the Greeks over 2000 years ago making such a magnificent stage and setting for their plays. Thanks for sharing!

    • @KeepGoingPlaces
      @KeepGoingPlaces  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It truly is a stunning scene! Can’t imagine what it must have been like back then watching a play, then seeing Mt Etna fuming or even slightly erupting in the background.

    Hi from Sydney Australia! A year ago I first stumbled upon your vlogs as I was planning a trip to the UK for my fiftieth birthday in 2026 and I watched all your UK vlogs (and loved them). Then I TH-cam stalked you by watching your other vlogs, two more I've bookmarked because in the book I'm writing my character visits Santorini and Capri. I've visited many places you have, Fiji, Thailand, Europe and now I'm loving your Sicily adventures because it's all new to me. I just want to thank you for taking such wonderful videos and I'll keep on watching if you keep on posting. Love from a fan.

    Ciao Jordan,
    As Louise and I mentioned when we met you in Taormina, we consider Taormina to be our second home. We are currently planning our 5th trip back to Sicily and Taormina for Nov/Dec 2022. You and Ashley did a great job of representing this beautiful city. We also appreciate the research you put in on the locations you are visiting. The best to you both and we will continue to follow your travels.
    Have masks and jabs will travel,
    Mike e Louise

    Really enjoyed Cefalu and was watching Taormina (we did the same itinerary in 1999), when I realized I was not paying attention anymore. My mind was churning on the troubling diatribe you did on racism. Only racists see the world through a skin-colored filter. Your warning about racism/slavery was more appropriate for an elementary school CRT indoctrination. Sorry for rant, appreciate your work. can't stand political droning.
