- After a trip to the sea I came back to my studio and painted these very simple sketchbook watercolour paintings. These loose and contemporary mountainscapes/ seascapes are simple, fun and great watercolour painting practice. Here I demonstrate how I did all four using similar techniques for all but with different compositional outcomes for each. I responded to what the paint was doing in each one and tried not to overwork them. I hope you enjoy watching the demonstration and please comment if you have any questions or comments!

I have just discovered your channel and love your style! The simplicity and speed appeals to me very much. I usually do pencil sketch scenes on my travels but really want to start using some colour so I will try out the watercolour techniques you have demonstrated. Would you be able to tell me which watercolour sketchbook you use?
I am so glad you like the videos. Simplicity works so well for travel sketches. The sketchbook is a Hahnemuhle watercolour sketchbook. I think there are 2 paper weights and this is the heaviest.
@@annamabellaedgley Thank you, I will look for these!
Sounds good! Also, I use ‘Seawhite of Brighton’ 200gsm 😊
lovely atmospheric landscapes and presentation, quite calming
Thank you
Love your paintings and will give this a go. I'm new to watercolour but really enjoying it. I'm also a musician and would love to know what the music you play is.
Thank you, really hope you get on well with it. I use music available in the editing program I use. I am going to see if there is a way of accessing a list of what is used here. Ill get back to you 😊
Lovely work. Very helpful and inspiring thank you.
Really you enjoyed it! Thank you

I very much enjoy your videos and the simplicity of the technique, but still with something to learn each time. Thank you!
Thank you for your feedback, Its very encouraging to hear you are finding the videos helpful. I think we learn something new everytime we paint!
Thank you!😊
😊
Lovely as ever! I actually think there was something in that last one too, it did look briefly like it might go horribly wrong but once dry there were some interesting and different textures ❤
Thank you! Yes.. its true, when I watched the video just before uploading I thought that the last one really was not too bad 😊 thank you so much for your comment. I am really glad you liked the video ❤️
Hello Annamabella, curious what type of watercolor sketch book paper you use/ it’s gsm. I really have enjoyed your videos
Hello! This is a Hahnemule watercolour sketchbook. They come in two page weights I think. I think this one is 250g
Divno... jednostavno😊... hvala
Thank you so much! 😊
Thanks a lot for the instructions! In spite of not being talented, in spite that neither my brushes nor my paper are of good quality my fourth attempt was quite satisfactory (at least I felt happy doing it).
Brilliant!! That is so great to hear! Thank you
