I love her idea of container/wood structures. However there are alot of disadvantages as compared to concrete structures. Wooden structures are not fire or water resistance as compared to concrete buildings. An example is when i was in Paris l for week and there was a leakage in my house where the living area has laminate floor from wood and the kitchen was tiled. I had to change the laminate floor(very expensive) because it was beyond repair while the tile was just as it was few days later. I also dont think such structures can last for over 100 years compared to some of our family homes that are almost 100 years and still in good shape in Ghana. I would prefer such structures for shops, office space or restaurant. The woman is however doing a great job👍
But at the end of the day this is what a lot of states in America are used to especially in regards to the wooden structure of building where a lot of them have duly lasted for ages . At the end of the day it all pertains to appropriate maintenance for whatever preference you choose . But equally I’ve seen wooden structure building even lasted for eternity . When you go to some part of Accra , people family home lasting for generation are wooden structure storey building . So it all boils down to maintenance regardless of whether it’s wood or block. Anyways kudos to her works ,it’s our prayer a lot of youth will be able to start with since it less expensive
@@nicholasmens3503 You made a very valid point regarding maintenance and houses in USA mostly being built from wood. This will give more Ghanaians hope of building their dream house because it is less expensive.
@@nicholasmens3503well I can say wooden houses is very very affordable. I lived in a mining area over 40yrs ago & lived in wooden bungalow. It was airy, climate adjustment and trust me until I migrated to 🇺🇸 21yrs ago then made me value my parents life in the mines.
She also mentioned this kind of structure being preferable and safer for earthquake-prone zones.
