    I have just bought a HJC Rpha 91but was originally looking at the Agv tourmodular. The Agv was uncomfortable as I struggled to get it on my head. Yes it was the correct size. I tried on the Shoei neotec 3 again not an instant comfort fit then I tried the HJC and this was straight away easy to put on and super comfortable. I have always been a brand snob but common sense has finally caught up with me!!
    Great helmet but the comms I found a bit fiddly but it was the same for the high end helmets which I have owned.
    Great reviews on this channel and U do find them to be honest ones too.

    I bought the Freed Conn modular helmet on Amazon for about 230USD. The prices vary by seller. It has 3 air vents that open or close. One on the front with a small HEPA filter in it! And 2 on top with a rear vent. Nice air flow and defog for the inside of the visor. It also has a chin flap to help cut wind noise on the mic. Flip down sun visor and built in Bluetooth for communication with other riders, radio or internet music. Same long red button inside the front lower edge to flip it up. Locks in with an audible click. When I bought it on Amazon, it came with shielded gloves sized to match helmet size from FOD Sports. Index finger of glove coated to use on touch screen phones too.

    Bazz from Australia and I've worn the Nolan helmets for the last 15 years and yes the fit is excellent. Never had a problem with rain leaking into inside of the helmet. I think it's great value for money. My only issue is finding trader in Australia that sells Nolan as postage from Italy is killer for us down - under.

    Also a RPHA91 owner and pretty happy with it. Yes there are some drops going on the inside of the helmet in heavy rain but it's not that big of a problem. Coming from a HJC i100 i immediate noticed how silent the RPHA91 was. The intercom for the i100 is better than for the RPHA91 coming from the HJC brand. Also one downside that you already mentioned is the visor that doesn't stay up that well. On low speeds it's not a big problem but with higher speeds it shuts itself close. The sun visor is great and riding with the chinbar up is also possible with the little lock on the side. I bought the bright yellow one and this comes with a little advantage because you look like a police officer ;-)

    I wanted an AGV Sport Modular due to its low weight from the carbon fiber construction. I refused to buy it because it only came with a double "D" fastening system. Shoei wouldn't allow shipment from the EU to the USA; so, I opted for the Schuberth C5. I think it is the best helmet with the best integrated communication system.

    Thanks for including some comments about shell shape and fit. I work in the industry, fit helmets for a living, and it's the most over-looked, but most important, aspect of a helmet. Top brands all meet/exceed the safety standards, so fit should be one of the primary targets. I haven't yet brought in the Tourmodular because of the lack of success with the previous Sportmodular version. And we aren't a Nolan dealer. Which of the four, outside the Nolan, would you say has the longest oval fit?

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As someone with a round head (well it's actually square, but round is the closest from the common terms) it's hard for me to say. None of these helmets felt particularly narrow on my head, so I suspect most of these will fall into the intermediate oval category. Cheers, Tony

    • @gszuhai
      @gszuhai หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have very long oval head which means in most of my motocycling decades I was disturbed and had an aching head on multi-day trips. So I fully agree that head-shape fit is the most important criteria. I don't like the fact that whenever I find a long oval helmet, the next version of the same helmet usually is different. I had this disappointment with Schuberth C-series before and now with Shoei Neotec. The only helmet that is perfectly comfortable for me even on a 10-day trip is the Shoei Neotec II. I recommend this very much. However Neotec 3 is already more rounded, doesn't fit so comfortably. Neotec II is still available and is on sale, long-oval guys, go for it now!

    It's a shame that Caberg didn't make it onto this list. I ride with a Caberg Levo Hivision composite helmet in yellow. I need a helmet with good peripheral vision because I have limited mobility in my neck, and need to see clearly when doing my lifesavers etc. with 40+ years of riding experience, this is by far the best helmet I have ever worn.

    I'm having issues committing to a helmet! I really want a 180Deg flip, I did try the Shoei Neotech 3 ( I know it not 180 but it's meant to be a quality lid) but the chin bar is really tight to my chin! Fitment wise finding the Scorpion Exo tech Evo a fantastic fit, but they are cheap and I'm wandering if their build quality is up to standard? They do however have a Five year warranty. My head is spinning over choice now lol. If its purely down to fit then the Scorpion Exo tech is it.

      I'm working on our video on 190Deg flips now and I've been quite impressed by the Exo-Tech Evo. There don't seem to be any major issues with quality, though based on my experience with Scorpion I would check the top vent switch doesn't rattle when you shake your head. Not a safety issue, but it can be annoying. Cheers, Tony

    Which of these would best suit the fitting of a Cardo freecom system with the 40mm JBL speakers? It seems a lot of manufacturers are forcing you to buy their integrated systems 😢

    • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That'll go quite happily on the Scorpion, both LS2s and the Roof. Roof even have a video showing how to fit a Freecom to the Boxxer 2 (link below). You'll need to use the self-adhesive mount for the main Cardo module on the LS2s, but the clamp will work on the Scorpion and Roof. The Nolan's speaker recesses are too small for those speakers and you'd need to use boosters, which may (or may not) mean there's not enough room at the ears. Hope this helps. Cheers, Tony. • @sportsbikeshop
      @sportsbikeshop  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Oops. Wrong video! I've looked at the right helmets this time. I think the AGV will be best as the speaker recesses are biggest and there's more room on the shell for the control module. The 40mm speakers fit in the recesses for the Schuberth, Shoei and HJC and you'll be able to stick the unit on the shells, though the position may be further back than ideal. Speakers are too large for the Nolan recesses. You could use boosters, but again it might be too tight around your ears after you do that. I hope I've got it right this time! Cheers, Tony

    • @jackmccourt6180
      @jackmccourt6180 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Keep in mind it matters what the aero on your bike is like. On my ninja any helmet is loud and I need ear plugs. On my GS with a touring screen I can ride on the motorway with the front flipped up and i'm totally fine.
      Some windshields on sports bikes cause more problems than they solve for aero too because they direct turbulent wind to your helmet. My SV650 naked bike was probably quieter than my ninja 1000 with the screen set in the tallest position. In fact noise goes up when I put the screen up on the ninja, just because it messes with the airflow

      As Jack says below, so much depends on your riding conditions that I can only give my experience. For this video I wore four of the five helmets on a set route at 60mph back-to-back and there wasn't much in it - the Schuberth, Shoei and AGV were pretty much indistinguishable and the Nolan was a bit louder. How much do you want to ride with the chinbar up, and at what speed? Flipovers are better for longer periods and higher speeds in open-face mode as the weight distribution tends to be better and you retain use of the outer visor (with a flip-up you'll only have the sun visor when the chinbar is up). If you're less fussed about riding in open-face set-up then I'd say a regular flip is lighter and simpler. Hope that helps. Cheers, Tony
