The Cigarette showed showed why they are such a successful brand EVEN WITH the wrong trim tab settings.
Yeah definitely trim tabs were way off. They got lucky, I was expecting a different outcome for sure.

Number 2 wasn't just a deck wash, but also a bilge deep clean.
1 & 5 were both a win for the boats, neither stuffed and both made it out easily.

My fav boat that's a tough one. The first big boat I ever saw close up was Gary Montano's 50' Nortech cat with 1500hp turbines. Skater is building their largest boat to date; the new 588 cat. Can't wait to see that one with quad 1650-1750s!! Mystic builds great raceboats(MISS GEICO). Outerlimits builds awesomely fast V bottoms. Wish I could afford all four!

1st round should have been a win, even though it was close. They did everything right and no bow stuffing or falling. 3rd round should have been a clear loss though. Completely dangerous driving and trim setting for those conditions. They deserved to have flipped or even gone full submarine had they hit the wrong wave
Agreed. The first boat did battle with a rough sea, and did everything right. I enjoy this channel, but some of the calls are just horrible.

I think it depends on the weather, wind and tides more than time of day.
Wind from the east with a falling tide or (to a lesser extent) from the west with the tide coming in is going to get some, interesting, wave action.
I would have called Round 1 for the boat.

I think haulover was going to win today regardless of how many boats made it through without stuffing the bow.

I disagree with you on the Deep Impact (should have been a win for the boats) and the Cigarette (loss). It wasn't MUCH of a bow wash, but I think the bow DID dip into that wave. Like I used to when I was in the USN . . .
I've been through the Haulover Inlet and it's every bit of what they showed these videos it's a rough rough ride getting out into the ocean even getting back in Haulover is a b****

Can someone please explain why all of these people are on a mission to get into the ocean? I can understand cruising the bay but other than deep sea fishing, why go out into the Atlantic ocean w kids and family? 🤔

A bit about 'stuffing the bow'... Designers years ago, e.g. when I worked at Formula, decided that a down swept bow was somehow desirable. It isn't. It is purely stupid. And dangerous. Bad enough so many boats bowriders. BBows the angle up are always far superior in every way, and make a HUGE difference in rough water.
The real question is: Why in the hell would anyone use Haulover Inlet? Miserable conditions most of the time. Go somewhere else.

It's a very simple 3 rule system.
1) kids in the bow with no life jackets, you lose.
2) Stuff the bow, you lose.
3) If Broncos Guru says you lose, you lose. Because he can change the rules any time he wants.

The most irresponsible example of small craft operation I have ever seen. 30 years of maritime work. Where is the Coast Guard??? Every craft less than 50' should be cited and fined.
